I don't know whether Ravel travelled with the team or not, as he didn't play in the game against Suriname, but there's a lot of reports coming from Jamaica that the Jamaican national team are stuck in Suriname because their federation booked travel to Suriname, but didn't bother to arrange travel back to Jamaica from Suriname. Which isn't great.

More on this. The players have put out a statement on the situation. Ravel Morrison and some other players didn't travel to Suriname because, as well as messing up the return travel, the JFF also messed up some players' travel to Suriname.

  3. I'll start with something that I don't think deserved a thread of its own, but I think is an interesting move nonetheless
Neil Critchley leaves his position as Blackpool manager to join Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa staff:

Strange decision to go from the main guy to an assistant, especially as he'd been doing very well at Blackpool

They had the chance to take him back in January or re loan him for a fee or even flog him then.  Always found it a bit odd.

To be fair, I can understand why they didn't recall him for themselves in January. Both Boro and Fulham (when he was in their academy) had issues with his attitude, and he was sent out on loan because he'd had falling outs with several managers while at Boro. From Boro fans, it sounds like he plays very well when he can be bothered, but if he's not interested he's awful, and he just didn't want to be at Boro. It would explain the weird situation where they have an asset that they think is worth £20m, but haven't kept him for themselves, because he wouldn't be playing to a level where he'd be worth that much if he was playing for them.

How many gooduns have they let go in recent years? Not just gooduns, but ridiculously world class. De Bruyne, lukaku, abraham is doing well now, I know there are many more.

They let Declan Rice go as a 14 year old, and have spent a lot of the last 2 or 3 years trying to re-sign him for a fee in the 9 figure range

Whilst perusing the isle's of Long Eaton Te*co super-marche i have noted they are selling biscuit type things with Notts Florist paraphernalia iced on them AND waving good luck banners around - sickening

This is disgusting on several levels

1 - Long Eaton is a Derbyshire Town - what  does te*sco think its doing - they never did this for Derby - are they so ignorant that they don't realise they are in Derbyshire

    2- It's just not on

3- i vow never to shop in tes*o again

4- attempting to brainwash Derbyshire kids via novelty biscuit fun is typical Notts behaviour

On the subject of biscuits - whats your favourite to take to the big game? Mine would be jammy dodger , lemon puffs and strawberry cream(a rare but unbelievable biscuit)

To be fair, having seen what Forest's owner has (allegedly) done to other bakeries, I can entirely understand why Tesco bakery has been trying to get on his good side.

  7. AC Milan 3-0 up at Sassuolo with about 20 minutes left to play. Barring a spectacular screw up, it looks like he'll be winning his first piece of senior silverware.

Martin Keown just said Leeds United have pulled off one of the greatest escapes. Why? They were only in the bottom 3 for about two weeks in the entire season and it’s not like they came from 8 or 9 points behind.

Leeds somehow conspiring to lose to 9-man Brentford on the last day of the season would have been an incredibly Leeds thing to do, but against all the odds they managed to not be Leeds for 90 minutes.

  9. Good thread on this by Swiss Ramble here:

Effectively, it seems to come down to Everton factoring in the effects of a depleted Covid transfer market, and writing off values because of that. It seems like they've been open about this with the league and they've taken advice from outside financial experts to ensure that it's above board, but we've already seen that even that's not enough to avoid being punished.
