Yeah I don’t remember shinnie being a let down at all, like you say you was an absolute workhorse. Him and bielik was possibly the best midfield we’d had in years, but only played about ten games together.

Assuming Bielik is off on his world tour, I'd have Shinnie back in a heartbeat. Folk have very short memories. Many thought he was POTY in his last season and had Curtis not been playing absolutely out of his skin, he might have been. We still get bullied from time to time and Shinnie does not lie down for anyone. Teak tough and better technically than some give him credit for, it's a yes from me.

Not just his defensive abilities, the way he finds gaps and finds players in attacking positions! Where ever bielik ends up i hope it works out for him he deserves to be playing in the prem. Really hope he stays but cant blame him if he moves on if it means we can hopefully make abit of money back on him! Just think most of tjem will be add ons just because of his injuries recently

Hourihane has scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists so far this season. Mendez-Laing has 3 goals and 4 assists yet everyone would say he’s been a relative success. McGoldrick 4 goals, 2 assists, Collins has 7 goals and 0 assists.  Funny how our expectations and perceptions can differ from player to player.
Plenty of games left for Hourihane, and others, to continue contributing to the team. He can definitely give more from set pieces, I’d like to see him and Bird with another body in midfield, Knight or Smith if we can find a right back, I think a third midfielder allowing Hourihane to roam around a bit more in the attacking third of the pitch would see him improve on his goals and assists.

Has he actually said that he doesn't want to be at Derby? Does he feel like a prisoner? I'm sure I read that he said that he's very happy at Derby and that he only went out on loan because the Poland manager insisted that he be playing at a higher level.

I was surprised how much Shaun Barker on RamsTV was bigging up Sibley and Bird. Sibley played well in parts and Bird had his moments too but overall the two of them were far from exceptional. But listening to Barker you’d think they were off the charts. What’s going on? Does Warne have influence on the pundits ? does Barker think Sibley and Bird have been getting a raw deal on Twitter (and on here)?
And I like Dobbin and think he’s making progress but Hobgoblin motm? Some great dribbling, good use of pace, and high energy, but not great decision making and so not much came of it.

I’ve always though SB talks good sense, albeit from a rams perspective, but just now he seems to be descending into the dark arts of spinning the fans
(don’t like his new wardrobe much either)

I thought sibley was up there for motm i dont know how you can question that! Bird was very sloppy with his passing which also led to their goal also his running off the ball was very slack! He did once get back which he did well with cashin defending well apart from that! Barker was a great player from us but everything gets over looked all the time its time for a change as i could quite happily get a load of replays from that match where bird gives the ball away or is just jogging around the pitch iv played that role that bird plays and hes not up to scratch! Its the effort he puts in off the ball as well that does my head! We will never get anywhere with bird getting away with poor performances and getting credit for doing well

Birds fault for their goal, its not like he only miss passed it once for their goal he did it 6 or 7 times at one point mcgoldrick and collins throw his arms in the air and turn towards him! He did better then normal but its still below the standards that are expected. It always happens even to the standard of Sunday morning football you can have someone who can barely kick a ball (a fill in player) and a good standard amateur and always concisely good that 1 player who has a half decent game stands out because hes done more then normal/expected, this is what i feel fans have seen them 2nd balls is his job to win hes a professional footballer hes getting paid to do that it shouldn't be a stand out thing that hes won a couple of second balls against

Not sure how the forum can be seen as counter productive, at the end of the day it's just a bunch of fans opinions. It's no worse or better on other social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
The novelty factor was always going to wear off as frustration crept in, the we're just happy to have a club feeling was never going to last forever and we're now back to the we're Derby County, we should be beating teams like Exeter.
I have to be honest, I'm enjoying reading the football arguments over what is happening on the pitch, not off the pitch with finances and football laws. This is what football should be about.

During the anguish abour the survival of DCFC, the content of this forum was fantastic - a tribute to the club's traditions and the fanbase.
I doubt the Samaritans could have done a better job in comforting the many loyal fans deeply anguished by events and the possible liquidation of one of the beating hearts of the Derby and Derbyshire community.
This forum also created and published many calls to action nationally and locally which attracted so many favourable headlines and must have played their part in the eventual rescue of the Club.
Our national prestige soared, generated a lot of national sympathy and support, and led to tremendous gates and match support even when we lost.
However, since LR was replaced by PW, I wonder if I am alone in noticing a downward spiral in the objectives and quality of some contributions. Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions, but do we not need to temper the expression of them by considering the effect on the DCFC owner, staff and players who are becoming the target of some vitriol?
Some of us seem to forget our debt to our new owner. And seem to forget the laborious keep-ball of LR which we had endured for more than the current season and which had led to so many away defeats and the inability even to score a goal for match after match.
This forgetfulness is accompanied by totally unrealistic expectations of what the new owner and manager should achieve. And ignorance of just how effective League 1 opposition can be when pumped up by the adrenalin of facing the high and not so mighty DCFC.
It is sadly well known that social media can inflict a lot of harm on its targets. For the sake of our Club and those on its payroll and the person who bankrolls our payroll, may I plead for some moderation and realism please?

The only 1 thing i think warnes getting wrong at the minute is refusing to just keep it 442 or 433 its the only formations that suit us!  Maybe in a year or two play his 352 but it really doesnt suit us unless we get bielik back then i feel we can be dangerous with that formation, just for the fact bielik will control the whole game on his own which shouldn't be asked from 1 player
