ck- reacted to RoyMac5 in Jozwiak
From an article in The Athletic:
"Saturday’s opening Championship fixture against Huddersfield Town will mark the first competitive game where Jozwiak will experience with fans. He makes no secret that he enjoys playing with an intensity and, at times, a little on the edge. He is very much looking forward to a packed Pride Park for extra motivation. And he hopes to inspire a chant.
“I heard that in England fans have songs for certain players they like. But in Poland, we don’t really have that. I don’t know if the Derby fans have one for me or not. But if I could get one, that would be OK. I missed them last season. Sometimes it felt like a friendly. I thrive off the crowd.
“In Lech, I played in front of a lot of fans. I saw at Derby (on TV) that the fans are also very good and Krystian also told me how great they are. So I know the fans will fight with us.
“When you do a good thing and they react you get additional energy. After the game against Sheffield Wednesday, I was trying to drive home and I couldn’t get out of the car park because all the fans came down to support us. Not every place in the world is like that. Sometimes fans only support you when you are in a good position. That was very helpful for us.”

I’m struggling to see what the point of the meeting is if any information from the meeting can’t be shared! The groups invited should refuse to go if they have to sign an NDA

ck- reacted to Day in Supporters Charter Meeting Questions
Quick update: I have just left the meeting which is still ongoing otherwise I would miss the last train.
A decision was made not to release minutes for this meeting in the end, but I am free to get a write up out to you all as soon as I can.
I do not have a laptop with me and would prefer to wait until tomorrow once I’m home and can go through all the notes.
I will aim to have it ready to post on the forum tomorrow.
Please do not bombard me with questions across the forum by mentioning me, PM, DM or text if you have my number.
I don’t want to be putting bits and pieces out there all over the place.

So predicted we would come 4th & we finished 4th bottom....now they say we will finish bottom, clearly means we will finish top ?

We have the corner flag - that's quite a good post impressionist.

I wouldn't want to be publicly reported as insane either.

ck- reacted to JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta in Poll: Do we fans need a 'pound of flesh' from Mel?
Mel will be leaving us in a right mess, but there is no need to punish him further for it, I don't believe he did it maliciously at all. His punishment will have been to be saddled with the club funding it out of his own pocket whilst we wait for a takeover to happen.
Had Mel not run the club in the way he has a takeover might have happened more quickly, so that's the consequence to his actions.

ck- reacted to Bris Vegas in Poll: Do we fans need a 'pound of flesh' from Mel?
Mel has been terrible at running this football club during his tenure, but he hasn’t done it purposely or with clear intentions to cause harm.
He certainly isn’t in the realm of Glazers, Oystons, 3 Amigos territory.
I don’t understand what could be gained from abusing (or booing) him. He isn’t a charlatan or he hasn’t been peforming a scandal. He must be well aware of how bad his tenure has been, and he is actively looking to sell.

I’ve been confined to my bed for two days with COVID.
Winning our first game of any description since April obviously caused great distress and left me vulnerable.

I think he'd be best advised to stay away. Violence is so unnecessary and damaging most of the time and can't be condoned of course.
That said, and acknowledging it doesn't reflect well on me, if he got a pasting I'd struggle to care less.

And that for me unfortunately sums up quite a chunk of our so called supporters with their 'i've paid my money so I can do what I like' attitude.
We all have negative views and opinions of certain players, but how can anyone with half a brain cell believe that berating players like in the example above, have anything but a negative impact on results and performances on the pitch?

I'm similar to be honest. When the current Mrs Rev has a night away, it's party central in my house.
Sometimes it gets so debauched I don't load the dishwasher until the following morning.

I agree, and let's be honest, he's just warming the seat for Bielik when he returns from injury. Bird lacks something to be that holding/defensive midfielder. He's played better when he's given a bit of freedom to play further forwards. He's got an eye for a pass but when he's played deep, he just ends up passing sideways and backwards.

It won’t be a weakened team in the sense that all our best players are not playing. It will be the strongest team that we can put out, our best players on the pitch.
it will be a weak team, not a weakened team.

ck- reacted to Abu Derby in Tickets for Huddersfield Match
Someone has nicked my seat even though I have it as a season ticket holder. Why couldn’t the club let STH retain their seats? I spent well over £500 for it. It’s a stupid decision by the club.
If all seats are up for grabs it should include the directors box seats as well. See how they like sitting elsewhere.

So nice to see someone quoting a bit of Shakespeare on here. I think it is about time we had a cull of the riff raff that come on here, and the forum becomes exclusive to erudite, well-educated gentlemen. Where is Shakespeare nowadays anyone? Still with the Villa?

ck- got a reaction from Deej in Has the lockdown(s) made you care more about Derby?
I’m only going because it’s how I keep in touch with my brother.
I’ve lost more and more respect for everything to do with football, with its shameless money grabbing all round.
And I’m sad to say that we have become an example of all the worst behaviours. What makes it worse is that we’re not even very good at that! We’ve all complained about Leicester, Leeds, QPR, and Aston Villa breaking the rules, but they did it effectively. We made a complete hash of it.
I look back now to the halcyon days of 2014 with a nostalgic tear in my eye. And yet in reality that was a very brief period sandwiched been long periods of turgid fare. And so I find myself wondering if it really was as good as I remember, or is it elevated by what happened before and since. I recall Hal’s soliloquy in Henry IV pt 1:
“…And like bright metal on a sullen ground,
My reformation, glitt’ring o’er my fault,
Shall show more goodly and attract more eyes
Than that which hath no foil to set it off.”
So in summary, I’ve not missed it, indeed absence has made the heart grow less fond, but I’ll keep going for the sake of family bonding.
