Delighted with that point. Sometimes you need to show courage & fight and we absolutely showed that tonight. Love watching us play good stuff but also relish us digging in & showing character under such pressure.
If we can keep a clean sheet here, we can keep one anywhere in this division. Buchanan just shaded MOM for me but there were heroes all across that back line. Absolutely loved that high five between Buchanan & Davies when they blocked that shot from 8 yards out too. Cracking debut from Dylan Williams too - did not look out of place at all. We'll be seeing lots of that lad this season.
And lastly, that away support was unbelievable. In a game where we were mostly under the pump, hearing that constant noise from our lot must have helped. Well done everyone who travelled ?

Brilliant. I've waited about 30 years to see us, get stuck in like that.
We learned from the Birmingham game and the correct team was picked and the players worked for the club and fans.
So many teams have played us and got results from us by being ugly, in this league, so many times, time and time again, we have to be ugly at times, and tonight we were ugly, but beautiful at the same time. Our fans were wonderful throughout.
I love Derby County Football Club. Well done Wayne Rooney.

Based on the restrictions on us when he signed and his willingness to sign in that position, i think he is underrated and an excellent signing. We were hardly going to get Messi

Gift Aid comes from the money the individual is liable to pay in tax - if you don't pay tax, you can't claim Gift Aid or the higher rate rebate. The government is only refunding your own money, not other taxpayers' money.
You can argue that if he didn't give the money to charity, the tax on it would all go to the public purse, but you don't get to choose what it's spent on, so it seems churlish to complain about the money going to a charity, even if the charity isn't particularly active. He can't get the donation back.

Exactly. Have worked with many high net worth individuals. Those just wanting to reduce tax bill choose to do so by many means other than donating to charity, especially such large sums.  Only those that actually want to donate do so. Having seen/prepared the tax returns of many HNWIs you would (or perhaps wouldnt!) be surprised at how few do give significant amounts to charity. For many its the sort of amounts we may give. So Mel's charitable giving is just that and he should be applauded for it

I don't think they necessarily need to be "decided by the manager". Obviously, the manager should have the final call on whether to sign them or not, but I don't think they always have to be involved from the start.  If Morris was dead-set on making this Derby-Way stuff work, it shouldn't really matter if the manager is involved anyway - everyone should be pulling in the same direction.  We should have a style of play in mind and be appointing managers that play that way, signing players that play that way, and developing academy players to fit too.
I genuinely have no idea who was in charge of transfers in those early Morris days, and I'm not sure it was one single person.  We seem to know Blackman was a Clement request.  We know Weimann and a few others were lined up (but not confirmed, obviously) before Clement was given the job.  There's various suggestions/allegations about Sam Rush's approach to transfers.  A few of the signings honestly feel like Morris either wanting to get the boys back together(Ince, Shackell, Wisdom), or basically have a new train set to play with (Johnson).  There was definitely a too-many-cooks problem somewhere there.
I have no idea what McClaren's job actually entails, but I think someone like him in charge of making sure the Derby-Way happens is absolutely what we need.  Someone that actually understands football, understands youth-development and is willing to make hard decisions ("we are *not* signing Malone when we have Buchanan and Lowe in line, you can have a loan for a year if we need it" etc).

"League One player at best" was the cheap, lazy comment thrown about at him. Whether he 'makes' it or not (how is playing semi-regularly for a very competitive side in the English second tier NOT making it?), I think he has at least proven that wrong already.

    Nothing but respect for Max.
Came from a town next to where I live, a very down to earth guy with lovely parents.
He would have stayed at Derby for all of his career given the chance so we should only show him respect and nothing else. There's no reason we shouldn't clap him tomorrow and let him know he was one of our own.

I was 17 years old..was lucky enough to attend all 42 matches home and away. Me and 3 or 4 mates had missed only about 3 or 4 games the previous season and we decided to try and get to every game. The first time in Rams history I'd been to every game and the first time Derby County had been crowned League Champions! Not a coincidence surely! Fantastic time to be a Rams supporter.

Was at the game tonight. It's a tough watch at times as we lack experience and our game management is poor.
We have players with good ball skills,  but Cashin and Dixon excepted, we lack physicality. When we threatened through midfield, they fouled us. Nice and early! If we'd done the same it wouldn't have placed Cashin in that situation at the end (although his earlier tackle was borderline red card anyway).
Leeds nobbled Thompson twice  early on, which didn't help. Not punished of course and the ref spoke to their number nine three times before he booked him.
I am a bit relieved to read about the mismatch in fees for the respective teams, but we will presumably be up against similar set ups throughout the season.
This Embargo is affecting much more than our first team.
Bright points - Thompson pre- injury, Borkovic, Dixon, Cashin for 80 minutes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at Sheffield thanks to Derby fans. They’ve been fantastic in every game I’ve been to so far; I really hope we can keep the volume and the consistency going because it’s putting the heart, soul and life back into the Club at a time that the support is vital.

Everyone I know (eventually) made the decision to be vaccinated largely based on the overwhelming scientific evidence and medical opinion that the vaccines have been a huge success at doing what they what they were designed to do - massively reduce your risk of serious illness, hospitalisation, death.
From the news/internet I know that a minority of older people (over 50s) are making the decision not to be vaccinated for some reason or another. I guess some of those people, like you, are mainly focused on personal, anecdotal, evidence to either make or justify that decision.
You might be lucky, but in my opinion anyone who is old enough to have good memories of the last time we won the old first division and who still chooses not be vaccinated is making a very risky decision based on a flawed cost/benefit analysis.
It’s all very well posting your reasons for not getting vaccinated to a bunch of opinionated randoms on a footie forum   – but seriously, at your age, I think you should also check out your GP’s opinion given they’ll know your individual health circumstances.

The DCFC LB production line keeps going... Lowe, Buchanan, (Archie jumped ship), now Williams... England youth International Moloney next (who is now in the U18s).
Someone recently doubt we could produce so many good players in a single position in such a short time.
What a selection of talent this club has!

I was there. Every home game and a few away. I was a 26 year old just started working in the dole office at the top of Normanton Road after working as a barman for a couple of years in Estartit Spain (at the wonderfully named El Custard Beast). A fantastic time to be a Rams fan. I remember it so well. There was a buzz in the town. Let’s hope we can recreate it while I’m still around!

Would be nice. I was pretty much saying that everyone did very well last night. They played as a team, they worked very hard, they kept calm in their shape, looked confident and showed determination to win the game. Some of these factors have been missing, especially during last season.
