Just said that if we get more points deducted we might then play the youngsters to prepare us for League 1 - which wouldn't necessarily be fair to other teams or the integrity of the league! Nice one Wayne, get those 'threats' in early! #COYR

Based on having to restate the accounts to correct something that we were found not guilty of by an Independent Disciplinary Commission.

I may be one of the only people who listened to the radio Derby interview and thought, there's still a chance Mel knows what he is doing. It's a long hard road, but he knows it will end up 'ok'.
That isn't positive, more deluded optimism, but that is all I have.

If your not a pessimist can any pessimists hovering the fingertips over the keyboard please refrain! I might liquidate myself after reading that ?

I actually think we'll get out of it. Put in some playoff form & stay up no matter the deduction.
We'll also get taken over, Rooney will stay & everything will work out well
Promotion to the prem next season after a summer of finally being able to buy player ?

I totally understand what they're trying to do:
1) Have the 'fit and proper' process for any new owners to stop 'baddies' getting into the game
2) Ensure clubs don't over-spend to the detriment of the competition and the club itself
However...
When the worst happens, as has for us and other clubs, when the EFL apply the penalties, are the correct people being punished? Mel knew the risk he was taking and he lost some money but the club could actually disappear because of his actions - not something we signed up for as fans.
So whilst I appreciate the EFL have a job to do, by applying points deductions to the club, they actually compound the clubs problems by reducing our revenue and potentially sale'ability to new owners. This can't be right... can it? 
The clubs themselves (if we define that as the entity of us as fans and the collective interest that is DCFC) have done nothing wrong. The owners and money men are using the club as a vehicle to make money. If that doesn't work, they lose a bit of money but our club is damaged significantly.
There's a whole generation of kids that won't follow DCFC now because we'll be in League One so that sends us down a notch in terms of fanbase which in turn reduces our revenue which makes it less likely for us to return to the Prem. It's a very, very vicious circle caused by money men who don't truly have the balls, money, skill or luck to see it through. 

If only Keogh had left the shots alone.

What on earth would that achieve? He gambled, he lost, he is trying to unload the club. Venting your spleen isn't going to speed up the process.

Less 20 million lost revenue on Covid and catastrophic player re valuations because of that .. Derby won’t be the first with this problem. It remains to be seen if the EFL chase others with the same vigour. I am not excusing Mel. His failures are huge and demonstrable but perspective is crucial. 

On the contrary, I want to hear what he has to say. Then I can make my own mind up about it before it is twisted, misinterpreted,  slanted either way to suit people's agendas before posting on here.

If HMRC were set to lose £26m - which would be the case if what you are saying regarding administration effectively 'wiping out the debts' were true - they would issue a winding-up petition immediately.

Not sure there are any people defending him. 

I take it back what I said about Rooney.
I've said his presence undermined Cocu - actually another mistake by Mel.
I've said his performance last season was really poor and that we avoided relegation despite his tactics.
But, forget all of that.
This season, tactically it's been much better and I've been looking forward to seeing the team and performances develop.
But more than any of that, far more, the way he has dealt with the problems at the club has been immense. First the post season, under the embargo. And, now this, he has handled everything with decorum, dignity and the highest degree of professionalism.
Rooney, you have my full respect and gratitude. Thank you ?

The bile spewed at Rooney from some corners was disgusting. I didn't desperately want a high profile player-manager to begin with. However, he's clearly doing his best and responding well under a lot of pressure. The way he has talked about pride and determination aren't made up, he clearly has the support of the players and genuinely cares about doing the best by the club. I wouldn't have blamed him for jumping ship but credit to him for sticking with it and fighting! 
The whole club needs our support, particularly on the field.
