There is no justification for a character assassination of Mr Morris and I don't doubt that he is a decent person. Obviously supporters are disappointed about the dire state of their football club and expect the owner to accept responsibility.  I guess the situation is much worse than most of us could imagine, and Mr Morris has opted to keep fans in the dark.

I have nothing concrete to back this up TD, but my gut feeling is that, quite some time ago, Mel has decided that enough is enough and that he was no longer prepared to fund anything else at the club, other than the absolute, rock bottom, bare minimum needed to keep it ticking over. I don't think its a question of Mel not being able to afford stuff, he remains a very wealthy man. But he has decided : no more, its time to stop. After a £200m + investment has got him nowhere.
Again, I have no evidence, but I suspect that both Stephen ( the ex FD, now CEO ) and Mel went through an exercise some time back literally reviewing every possible expense in the organisation on a line by line basis. With a ruthless and determined approach to challenge each and every single cost with an aggressive attitude of : can we exist without it or can it be done in another cheaper or non-cost way ?

So, from what we see as supporters  :
No ticket office - can be done online
No concourse tv and other facilities - not necessary
Reduction in back office staff other than ticket office - find another way. eg if you report bad supporter behaviour to the club, you are now directed to the police in the first instance, rather than the club taking the lead in investigating. Notice that all the signs  in the concourses and even loos ,previously encouraging fans to confidentially report unacceptable behaviour to the club, have now disappeared.
I dont know Mel, and I have never met him, but from what I have seen and heard, he certainly seems to be the rare type of individual who has the character and bloody mindedness, to carry out this kind of approach.

Again, just to be clear, this is just my personal theory from what I have observed. Complete conjecture on my part.

Obviously just my opinion and not based on any info but I would have thought that since the word in ITK circles seems to have have been that DCFC had in theory been working with the EFL to thrash out some sort of compromise deal then if that had been sorted then it should largely just be a rubber stamping exercise and we'd know by now. The fact that we have the same charges still showing on the EFL list and now a new one tends to suggest to me that we did not find that compromise position. That being the case I would expect shortly that we will see an announcement of some sanction from the EFL and we might then enter further purgatory of appeal and counter appeal and nothing will be resolved any time soon unless MM were to go for the nuclear option which is surely not particularly appealing to him but we don't know how much longer he can keep going like this.
If we are crippled by a points sanction that is designed to send us down then being out of the Championship and no longer within one good season of a spot in the EPL would make the club even less attractive option than its current already debt-ridden state. Likewise though, further delay, wrangling and uncertainty over appeals surely kills any potential takeover deal too because you don't know what you are buying.
In summary then, if we don't have a deal sorted with the EFL (which seems increasingly likely) then I think we could be in for a world of pain. Any potential buyer is surely going to be thinking that they would be better off picking up the pieces after administration as the debt levels are just huge. Even if MM did the old 'sell it for a quid' routine, what do you get for your money ? A huge stack of debt and no stadium. Unless MM were to voluntarily take a massive financial hit in the sale, who would want to buy ? Even if you were offered a good deal on stadium rental, you are are then lacking any real tangible asset for your money apart from the academy facility which is surely not going to be much of a carrot.

Instead of doing a sarcastic gif post why not have an input and disagree with the post. So you feel there are enough goals through this team then to see out games?

It’s too soon to say. The season is four games old and let’s be honest, the spirit of this team hasn’t really been tested.
I could understand posts like this if we had started the season on -6 points and whittled it down.
But as it is, I feel the praise for Rooney and the players is slightly premature. Let’s face it, if we were to lose against Forest, people would suddenly and surely look upon our start to the season much less favourably.
In 10-15 games, let’s see where we are and how we have fared and whether Rooney and the players have stood up to the challenge.
Two home draws and one win from four games is not really a great indicator of that, especially considering we have only faced one team who would be looking up the table instead of down.

I am sorry you feel that way. But I think it’s an unhelpful comment to make.
We are all just sharing our opinions, different as they may be. People like myself are just saying it as they see it.
I could understand you if this was 2014 and I was pouring cold water over McClaren’s team.
But look at how the club has been run and look at how the team has been managed in recent years. Can you blame people for struggling to find the positives?

Where is the evidence that no-one would touch the Derby job at the moment and Rooney is the best man for the job?
They are both assumptions which can’t be tested while the job is unavailable.
By the same token, I could say if Rooney left tomorrow, there would be tens of managers lining up to take on the challenge of reviving a club like ours.
Managers will always be judged come what may, and you can only take it as it comes. The circumstances will never be optimal, so why wait to judge Rooney?
Rooney has been given a more than fair chance if you consider he’s not even officially qualified to do the job.
Backing the manager is fine, but we came within a whisker of relegation whilst playing uninspiring football and we have won three league games since the spring.
You can’t be surprised that some fans will still have reservations over the manager, surely? This is modern football and managers are scrutinised more fiercely than ever.

Probably is Covid measures, agree with the decision or not.
Some will say you should stay and watch the game until the ref blows for half time.
Response to that will be there is no chance I'd get a pint then.
Which the reply would be can't you go 2hrs without alcohol.
I would say why not install a load of contactless card vending machines that chuck out 440ml cans.
For some having a drink is part of the football day out, 15 minutes is a push for a pint anyway, but with a 10 minute wait in the queue becomes impossible without missing bits of the game.
Not sure if laws would allow but fans could take unopened cans up to the stands, then open at half time to avoid any queuing at all.
Just eject people if seen drinking in the stand. Can see why they won't let football fans drink in the stands with the latest trend of launching pints in the air when goals go in.

I would suggest it's a good thing to encourage fans to watch the actual game rather than have the players see the stands emptying well before the end of each half.
