This is not a step forward at all, it stifles competition and turns it into a closed shop for the benefit of Sky. Shame on the EFL for signing such a deal. and shame on the clubs for agreeing to it also.
I will continue to subscribe to Rams TV, my overseas trips currently cost me £5 per month 🙂 Will sky be showing all matches live like Rams TV does? I doubt it! I won't give my money to Sky TV on principle.
All fans should boycott Sky TV, they are destroying football in my opinion.

I think at times there was too much urgency and tempo. There was a distinct lack of control and composure.
I agree with your second and third paragraphs. It's not all down to the manager though as some seem to be constantly suggesting. Very much shared responsibility as far as I'm concerned.

Yes my mistake, the Osmaston End stand was bombed in January 1941 and doesn't appear to be damaged in the photo so that would appear to date it between 1935 and 1941.

Lets hope they beat Bolton by a few. Seconds fine for me.  Shame they don't have Peterborough as well.  Crafty gits only 2 points behind if they win their 2 in hand against pub teams.  Barnsley have 4 tough away games so unless they puts laxatives in their water bottles can't see them catching up to second.

I semi expected a half-arsed performance tonight based on the fact that we've really struggled against the poorer sides this season. What I didn't expect is to see absolutely no youth whatsoever in the starting line-up.
On Saturday the game was over after around 65 minutes. Barnsley had given up, we were in complete control and carving them open at every opportunity. Perfect opportunity to give Weston or Robinson some minutes who would be on a high after the midweek game. We see neither. Okay, perhaps he's saving them for the FA cup game midweek I naively think to myself. We see neither again and instead only see Fapetu for 7 minutes in a desperate, panicked double substitution with Bradley as a last roll of the dice.
No Brown who is on fire in the academy, no Weston who scored for the senior team last week, no Robinson who has Prem clubs sniffing after him, instead we go for a 6'5 CB who we can rifle in diagonal crosses too. It's such a negative, backwards decision that genuinely makes me fear for the academy under Warne. Why would you choose to come here as a youngster when the manager won't even give a couple a chance in a game against league two opposition?
Losing tonight with half a team of kids would have meant nothing tonight. We would have dusted ourselves off and said oh well our focus is on the league. Instead our first team gets comprehensively beaten, the knives are out for Warne again, the fans are annoyed and our youngsters miss out on vital experience. A masterclass in mismanagement.

After supporting the Rams for nearly 60 years and seen all the fantastic glory days I never would have imagined that two non league clubs in Derbyshire would progress further in the FA Cup than Derby County. Its truly shocking how far this once mighty club has fallen...it's lowest ebb since 1888..how thoroughly depressing. The only way is up.

Genuine question about Warne ball. If the players downed tools and stopped playing for him, how would we tell?

Oh for sure. Derby then and Derby now are playing two contrasting styles of football. Both frustrating but under Rosenior I could appreciate the technical superiority we showed and felt the goals and wins would come in due course. It feels now as though we're trying to be better at being a league one type of team than the other sides in this division which neither suits our strengths or is good to watch.

One of the players needs to stand up to the clown in the dressing room and tell him to shove his style of play up his ringpiece.

He might not be good for Derby, he might not play the football we all crave, he may not lead us to promotion but to describe him as “a disgrace to this football club” is frankly, a disgraceful thing to say IMO.

Richard Dastard Lee reacted to RoyMac5 in So who would we have then?
We've lost Didzy, Knight and Roberts, all better than we have now. We can't manage more than 3 passes together it seems. Think back to how we played under Rosenior, after we'd got the ball past the defenders! There wasn't much but it was so much more than we have now.

Me in spades. And exactly why I have very little love for the national team also.
Being in the Premier league and fighting to finish 17th every season doesn't appeal at all. They're welcome to it. Much prefer to be in a competitive league where anyone can challenge given a good spell of results. Sounds weird, but I would much prefer to be cramped into a tight stadium with the smell of football all around rather than paying 60 quid to watch in a souless bowl full of Asian tourists taking photos.

It lost its meaning and relevance for me years ago.

No reason in principle why not but a lot of things have to go right at the same time from player to manager (and that is NOT a comment about our current manager). And above all we would have to have a lot of luck going our way on everything from referees decisions to academy fruitfulness.
If there’s anything I worry about about David Clowes’ ownership is his relative wealth. He’s clearly a rich man by any stretch of imagination. Good for him.  But he isn’t football rich it seems to me even at championship level never mind PL level. When you have clubs effectively owned by countries rather than individuals then having a couple of hundred million isn’t enough, especially if you then want your club/business to be self sustainable.
There are reasons why very few (can’t name any but I presume there are some) football clubs are actually self sustainable and genuinely have income greater than expenditure. I doubt any in the PL actually are, nor the championship for that matter and so for us to get there requires someone to spend/gamble enough to make it possible or take a long time (and have a lot of patience). We’re not a club with a lot of patience from top to bottom as these pages often demonstrate.
I don’t know how many years of watching live football I have left.  I’ve done 60 or so. David Clowes’ relative financial weakness is a huge problem for football as a whole and is the result of FFP and TV plus feeble football administration. I live in hope that we will gain two promotions in the next 10 years or so and that I see it,  but I’m not expecting it. We certainly can’t win anything in the top league any more other than individual matches. I am just glad that I have lived through the golden age of football when football life was simpler, fairer and better. And we were good.
