BucksRam reacted to Mostyn6 in Ancestry/MyHeritage DNA
an update cos a few of you PMd me to check things were ok.
So my younger half-brother is a European champion at Bowls (the one with the little yellow/white ball, that they roll another bigger ball to get near to), and he was playing in the Home Internationals Indoor Bowling tournament over the weekend. Seeing this as an opportunity, I travelled to Rhyl on Saturday morning and met my younger brother (24), younger sister (20), her fiance and my biological father. My brother was reserve, so disappointingly never got to bowl, and it was his birthday weekend too.
My biological father was literally like my dad, but with an accent. The similarities were scarily uncanny. He had lots of stories, and new my gran and older Uncles quite well. It was a nice weekend, if only a bit heavy on my brain and a lot to process.
I'm glad I met them and will do my best to keep a relationship going with them all. I also have another sister I am really eager to meet as she's closer to my age and similar taste in music etc.

Is a shame as I enjoyed it too. Far too many good shows, or ones with potential get canned. Daredevil, Flash Forward, Terra Nova, Messiah, Altered Carbon, Jupiter's Legacy or Cowboy Bebop, to name a few.

BucksRam reacted to rojo in Rotherham fan in peace
I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
All the best.

BucksRam got a reaction from Rammy03 in Are we too nice?
Just from the little I've seen of Warne and his team, as friendly, honest and nice as they seem I have no doubt he will be a hard bar steward when he needs to be. I get the impression he won't suffer fools gladly. May take a few weeks but I think he will instil a hardness to our team that'll make us even tougher opposition. Rotherham always battled hard and never gave up. Overall we have better players than Rotherham so that, plus a hardened mentality will, I'm sure improve us further. Hopefully we'll put teams to the sword, smiling nicely whilst we do so.

BucksRam reacted to uttoxram75 in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Highlighted above is a great way to describe the difference between MM and DC. One obsessed with celebrity and fame , one calm, methodical and happy to be behind the scenes.
Really hope this works, for DCFC and all of us obviously, but for David Clowes as well. we never heard a peep from within the club until the deal was done.
It appears DC conducts his business quietly, professionally and respectfully.

BucksRam got a reaction from angieram in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Despite my tongue in cheek suggestion to @angieram earlier to fake a docs appointment, I too ended up missing it due to a last minute work meeting, which has just finished. Any links to the full presser?
