EtoileSportiveDeDerby got a reaction from Carl Sagan in Shamima Begum loses appeal against removal of British citizenship
Every other country are bringing their citizens back and put them on trial. Why should it be different for the UK? That's one thing, the other one she was 15. That does not make it right or an excuse but it has to be taken into consideration too.

EtoileSportiveDeDerby reacted to Anag Ram in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
If we play 4-3-3 second.
If we play 5-3-2 third at best
We cannot play in such a negative fashion, especially at home. Get NML back on the wing where he’s happiest.

Nor would I. I would expect him to resign.

This assumes that our comments on here are a reflection of our support at the match.
I don’t think Warne as a manager will be successful long term for us. I think eventually given enough chances he’ll get us out this division because that’s par for our wage bill etc. beyond promotion though I just simply don’t see success moving forwards. We will be buried in the championship if we approach games like we do down here.
That doesn’t stop me singing about Paul warnes barmy army at the game regardless of my personal view about his suitability. That doesn’t stop me thinking he’s probably a great bloke but preferring a great coach instead.

Ultimately we are still second and we are in control of our destiny.
However I fear today was a day where momentum went against us.

EtoileSportiveDeDerby reacted to Comrade 86 in Shamima Begum loses appeal against removal of British citizenship
She's British and should be tried in the UK and sentenced in accordance with her age at the time of the offence. Of course, that's a Pandora's box in itself for too may reasons to attempt listing them all here. Frankly, I'm surprised the government has not simply sent her to Rwanda. Isn't that our chosen destination for 'unwelcome problems'?

This, a million times over. It doesn't matter how big or small the offence - she's our responsibility and shouldn't be passed off to other countries to deal with.

EtoileSportiveDeDerby reacted to Rampant in Shamima Begum loses appeal against removal of British citizenship
She is, or was, a British citizen so she's our problem. She should be brought back here and tried accordingly. If that means she spends years, decades or even life in jail here then so be it. What constitutes an appropriate sentence is for another debate.
Could you imagine the outrage from the Daily Mail readers if foreign countries refused to accept responsibility for their citizens who commit crimes in Britain when we go to deport them after their jail sentence? 'Sorry guv, we've revoked Pablo's Italian citizenship, you deal with it.'
She was, and may well still be, a moron with a reprehensible moral compass, but given that she was born in England and lived here for the first 15 years of her life, the bottom line is she is a British moron. A homegrown moron if you prefer. A problem which we should deal with according to our laws.

Absolutely fantastic to gain 2 points on Bolton today. They play again on Tuesday, away at Cambridge. Obviously you'd expect them to win but, should they drop points we're properly second (based on points per game) for the first time this season. Currently it's:
Portsmouth 2.12 ppg Bolton 2.03 ppg DERBY 2.00 ppg Barnsley 1.88 ppg It's a four-horse race. Win at Barnsley on Saturday and it's a three-horse race. Today's other results for the top 4.
Portsmouth 4 Reading 1 Bolton 3 Charlton 3 Fleetwood 1 Barnsley 2

EtoileSportiveDeDerby reacted to Scott129 in Depression, anxiety, stress and other related issues
My dad finally lost his battle this morning at the ridiculous age of 64.
Over the past month or so, he got stuck in a cycle of having excess fluid drained, the fluid coming back, being drained again, etc. The fluid eventually got into his lungs and, on top of that, he had the cancer in the background (which they couldn't directly treat because of all of the draining), and a skin infection that eventually led to sepsis. It was just too many issues for him to fight, even though he gave it a damn good go.
He deteriorated rapidly last night to the point of being very agitated and delirious, and I got a call from the nurses to come in at 3am. I knew it was the beginning of the end then, and the decision was made to withdraw treatment at about 11am. He went very peacefully within the hour.
Part of me wants to carry on like normal - go to the match tomorrow and have a few drinks after - but the healthiest decision is probably to skip it and have a bit of alone time to process it all.
I echo the last sentence of my previous post too - f*** cancer.

Don’t think so it is to anyone holding on to the ball. He’s slow and always have to be at least level with his marker to get a chance of getting there first,if the ball is not played to his feet. Unfortunately level often means half a year offside.this being said he’s scored a few so we’ll have to with this.
