Slightly unrelated, but Bristol City 6 points off the drop as it stands.
Cheeky bid for Knight and Bird on the way past them?
1 million for both?
I do like Max Bird but it would be very funny if they went down

We really need to get ourselves out of sucker punch range.

Any danger we can all agree an “I told you so” amnesty for the match thread today? Agree from the outset that whether your stance is optimistic/pessimistic/realistic/mystic Meg we’ll all celebrate or commiserate the result together?
Anyone?
No?
Just me?
I told you nobody would agree.

I do like to get a feel of how away fans forums see up and coming matches against Derby.
There’s currently nine pages of doom and gloom regards Saturdays fixture on onevalefan.
…………………………..Ouch! 😁
If we concede, we generally fold like a pack of cards.
Who will win? The team that folds like a pack of cards when they go 1-0 down or the team that folds like a pack of cards when they go 1-0 up?

Absolutely no reason for us to set up in any other way than positively for this one. If we go in all meek and worried about their strengths it would be criminal.
They should be worried about us, let's give them something to worry about with the way we set up.

I do like him but I do get the impression he hates doing the pre and post match interviews and has started to resent them, which Is probably why he uses humour to make them interesting. I don't think he likes giving away what he might approaching the game etc and I think he doesn't like the fans perhaps thinking they know better and you can kinda tell cause when they boo he doesn't appreciate that either
This is why I suspect he doesn't really 'enjoy' being Derby manager. More pressure, more expectations, less patience. Comes with the territory of managing a good sized club. His whole personality and setup just seems geared towards a club punching above it's weight, not a club expecting more than it currently has.

We have one of the best squads in the league yet every game we set up to stop the opponent, how about we go all out and make them change for us? It’s like we’re scared of every other team
As I said before, tactical cowardice from Warne.

He’d be correct as well. Think our squad is probably 4th/5th best. Which means you could argue Warne is overachieving. But as the last 3 windows have been on his watch I think any praise for our position gets wiped out when you address the reason why our squad isn’t good enough.
Disagree with this to be honest. Our squad on paper is in a mini-league if it's own with Pompey and Bolton.
The quality of sides outside of that this year are desperately poor.

11 points dropped from winning positions in this calendar year so far, and it's only February.
Tactical cowardice from Warne is the main reason as far as I'm concerned.
-
Warne's style of football is simply unsuitable for a club our size. It gives him absolutely no room for error because there is no goodwill in the bank to give the fans something to cling on to when results are poor.
The football is utterly dreadful and has been all seasons. We are where we are because we are financially more powerful than most of the league even with our restrictions and have players that can paper over the cracks in our amateurish setup.

Give me one reason why getting a new owner would help in any way.
I'm pretty sure the poster was saying Clowes should get rid of Warne.

What makes you say that? What about our good first half? Is that nothing to do with Warne?
How many points do we get for being ahead at half time?
-
Paul Warne simply cannot hack managing a club of our size. Get him gone.

So us being 1-0 up and Wildsmith giving away a stupid penalty and us hypothetically losing this game is Paul Warne's fault? Ok then.
Changing tactics to a system that invites pressure increases the chances of something like that happening. That's on Warne.

How's that possible when we're second in the table?
Because this years L1 division is populated with utter dross bar Pompey and Bolton.

Watching this team is horrible. We are never in control of anything and disappointment is only ever a Paul Warne tactical switch away.

What happened to the tactics we used for the 15 minutes or so? Was rather nice to watch.
Can't be having that sort of thing going on!

It’s not quite clicking, but I like the intent when we go forward, you can see Gayle’s intelligence and it seems to be having an effect on NML and Bird too. Once that understanding develops further it could be tasty
If that development could happen between now and the full time whistle that'd be lovely 😉
