  1. I have been back from my holiday in Germany for a week and a half now but the forum is still serving me ads in German on my android phone. Is there something I need to do or should I just buy the damn sausages?

  2. Went in the new Belgian bar at the weekend opposite the Dolphin - it was a very nice atmosphere, and always good to go in a new bar whilst the toilets are still in decent nick!

I had a couple of La Chouffe's on draft  - which I think is first for me this side of the channel

Not the cheapest mind - but then they are going for the specialist market I guess

I've not heard anything about it. We normally go to Nottingham once a week to either The Canal House or Belgo, so it will be really nice to have a Derby alternative. My liver might not thank me though - Dolphin, new Belgian bar and Silk Mill all within a hundred yards or so.

Here's the website and tentative beer  menu - looks decent, just hope they don't get too much drunken overspill from the sports bar across the road

Very good brewery, I don't see enough of their beers around. As much as I like their elephant they do need to mix their label design up a bit IMO, it's impossible to see exactly which beer of theirs it is without having the bottle in your hand.

That's a good point. Always enjoy their beers, but I think their designer must have died a couple of years back...

@eddie - have you seen that there is a Belgian beer bar opening in Derby? It's in the old Anglian Windows building on the opposite corner to Ye Olde Dolphin. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. Supposed to be opening at the end of June

Your phone won’t be listening to you. Google does however use personalised ads which use your browser history, you can disable these. Below is a link with instructions on how to

Well I don't have an Alexa - and I have the Google personalised ads stuff turned off. My point is that I have never searched or interacted online with anything to do with IVF - hence my question about how your ads worked. If it's just pure coincidence and I get served up any old random stuff then that's OK

Although I just searched and found this

  6. How do the ads work on mobile? Are they targeted somehow?

Currently getting repeated ads for IVF companies. This is something of no interest to me, but we do have a friend who has had multiple rounds of IVF. Crucially though, this is only something we have discussed out loud and never by email or WhatsApp. Not have I ever googled it. Is my phone listening to me?

I enjoyed the first series/season. I got 3 episodes into the second season and gave up. Far too silly for me. How a sheriff can

    a. get away with what he does.

    b. Be so stupid.        Each to their own.

I did however enjoy Afterlife on Netflix. (Again a dark subject handled very well)  Each to their own again of course

Not seen Series 2 yet, but the trailer did leave me to similar thoughts as yours. I'll give it a go when it comes to a channel where I can watch it, but yeah, even the first series was getting a bit beyond the realms of believability

Not watched Afterlife yet, but it's on the list. I always give Gervais a go even though I've hated pretty much everything since Extras.

Russian Doll was erm...interesting - not sure why it got quite so much hype

My first cat brought one still alive through the cat flap one morning. The thing was going berserk flying into walls round the house, finally got it out still in tact, not sure how with the amount of feathers which were scattered around.

The neighbour used to feed the pigeons, talking 50-100 all day on her roof, oh the battles we had with her over it.

We live near Darley Park so we get quite a few wood pigeons knocking around our gardens (nowhere near 50-110 though - jesus!). I've seen the cat stalk a few and fail miserably. I always laughed about it because they are almost the same size as her and thought she was just being ambitious. She levelled-up this morning and at least had the good grace to leave it outside the back door

  9. My cat quite often kills small birds and mice, but this morning I awoke to find she'd taken out a massive wood pigeon

I don't know to be impressed or horrified.

What if this is just the start??

Glad he’s been found for the family, what a bloody tragedy.Hope they go back for the pilot.

I heard on the radio that there were 5 parties who needed paying out in connection with the transfer.

Nantes owner received 10% the agents and his son and 2 others.

They stated that the total contract was 30 million but that Cardiff would only be covered for the actual 15 million fee and would be 15 million down.

No idea if this is right,it was on TalkSPORT.

I can see this rumbling on for a while with no cause for the crash or way of proving it.

Seems almost certainly to just be an "act of god" for insurance purposes. The weather was terrible and the pilot had already radioed ahead asking to make an emergency landing. So that makes it even more contentious in terms of getting a payout

It would be horrible, given the outpouring of grief from Cardiff fans over a player they never saw play, if this just ended up in a nasty argument over money
