My dad always used to reckon that when he was fishing, he'd put the maggots under his tongue to warm them up and make them wriggle more on the hook.
That's disgusting if true. Does anyone know if this is a real thing?
I await the answer with baited breath

Seems to be a few problems with the new iPhone at the moment, will be interesting to see if it’s a software or hardware issue.
Come on - if I'm paying over a grand for a phone it's only natural that such a high-spec piece of kit will be plagued with issues!

Oh I've just seen an ad for the iPhone XS max.....£1499. For a phone?
That's insane. For £1499 I'd expect it to be made of solid gold and have some sort of an attachment that pleasures me on demand

Having an ECG in your watch is the truly the technology you never knew you wanted and nobody asked for
I like the bit where it can tell if you've had a heavy fall, and if you remain motionless for more than a minute it rings your emergency contact
That feels a bit like there are more scenarios to be had here. How about if it detects you slurring your words in the pub, it calls you an uber and says "TIME TO GO HOME NOW STIVE!"

Cheers for that - I'm a B52 subscriber but I skipped this months box as I was on holiday, so good to see what was in it.
I find the themes hit and miss - some have been excellent and some have been really poor. I'm giving it a couple more months - at which point I'll have enough of their "loyalty points" to get a free box, then I'm going to cancel and spend my £24 in Beer Metropolis in Little Eaton. At least then you can choose your beers and it's actually far better value as you aren't paying for postage, a magazine and a bag of crisps
Also watch out that they also send their monthly subscription boxes every 4 weeks , so 1) that's not strictly monthly and 2) it inevitably ends up taking you by surprise when the payment comes out the day before pay day

I'm disappointed if people took it so seriously that it had to be shut down.
I think the thread where David explained the decision is gone too, but it was purely because it was too onerous to moderate as some people weren't sticking to the old rules (stay polite, no personal insults etc)

Both the Saturday 3-5pm TV football blackout, and safe standing, are political decisions, are they no longer up for discussion on a football forum?
Several people made the same point. Potentially any thread can get political. The difference now is that the mods can handle a few threads that go off piste and deal with the offenders on a comment by comment basis as per the new rules. When there were 10-15+ threads all on specifically political issues it was getting out of hand.

David - while we're getting used to the no politics, religion, sex regime please could you either leave up a locked thread or give an explanation (that's not for discussion or challenge) as to why a thread has been deleted?
As an example, the thread about the Skripals seems to have disappeared since I was online this morning. I presume it was thought to be political though when I left it, personally I don't think it was but maybe that changed. It would help explain the areas that are acceptable and those that are not.
I don't think they have the time or inclination to justify every thread deletion
Nothing contentious in the Skripal thread, so I checked with a Mod why it was pulled. He said they have a "zero tolerance policy" on any new threads that have the potential to cause political arguments.
It would be useful to be a bit clearer on that in the rules if each thread deletion is going to come with a warning

Does she like Champagne though? My missus was the same -thought it was horrible, until I pointed out that it's a similar taste to champagne (which she loves) and after that she enjoyed it. It was a mental thing - she couldn't comprehend beer tasting like that

If anyone wants a free crate of 8 beers from beer52.com I have a code
RGEHZK
or https://www.beer52.com/?freeCaseCode=RGEHZK
You have to sign up but you can cancel before you have to pay for the next monthly crate, so it's essentially free beer
