Bloody women!!! I booked a table for tonight for me and the missus for valentines day and It turns out she doesn't like snooker.

This year was the first year I've never received a Valentine;s Day card.

Every year since I can remember I've had a card from a secret admirer, but not this year

I feel awful - first my Nan dies and then this...

I am probably going to be in the minority here but Blade Runner 2049 was one of the dullest films I have ever seen...of any genre, never mind sci-fi. I was a big fan of the 1982 version so after seeing 5/5 reviews and high % on Rotten Tomatoes, had big expectations here. Trust me, even the 1982 cityscape look was done much better than this reboot. Very strange and seems like others watched a totally different film. Don't get me wrong, I knew this was going to be at the same pace as the original but that seemed like 100mph compared to Blade Runner 2049.

3/10. 1 for the fit hologram, 1 for Harrison Fords appearance and 1 for the all too brief "action".

Late to the party here, but the original is one of my favourite films too, so I was in the same boat as you. High hopes based on the reviews. Finally got round to seeing it at the weekend, and was massively underwhelmed

Ryan Gosling is pretty dire for a start. Spends the whole film looking like a confused Rodney Trotter, and even though I hoped it would pick up when Harrison Ford finally arrived in the last hour it just got even more stupid. The scene where Ford repeatedly punches him for no discernible reason is excuciating.

You can't base a 3 hour film on a fundamentally weak plot point. Spoilers but they seemed to expect the audience to buy the idea that if two replicants somehow had a baby then it would mean the onset of a terrible war? Why? Even the bait and switch of making you think that Rodney was the baby was badly done.

    No stars

The growing trend for people to get their stories in the media for 'nothing' stories.

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5307810/asda-shopper-car-parking-fine-visit-supermarket-twice-day/

This guy went to asda twice in one day and they sent him a fine saying he had been there over 3 hours.

The company involved obviously accepted it was a mistake and cancelled the charge.

It happened to me once in Tesco, i went in the morning on way to work and then again on way home, got a £100 fine, what did i do? Contact them and say i think you have made a mistake, or get my picture in the paper looking depressed about it?

Jeez, mistakes happen get on with it. These people probably think they are going to get some 'compo' by going to the press because of all the stress it caused. FFS get a life.

That's the state of local print media though isn't it? They are so desperate for content they will literally publish anything.

Then they will try and publish follow-up stories, just to drive clicks and therefore ad-revenue. What's the betting they follow that story with a story about the online reaction to the story? Haha - it's painful!

A mate has got an ongoing project to get the DET to publish any old rubbish and he's had quite a few decent hits. Sadly I can't tell you what they are as it might wreck future plans, but he had one story that ran for a whole week and generated 5 different articles

    1) he made up a completely fictitious rumour - which they published
    2) then a story about the online reaction to the rumour
    3) then a story about how the subject of the rumour didn't know anything about it
    4) then a story about how they couldn't track down a definitive source that could say if the rumour  was true or not
    5) then a story about how they finally DID track down a definitive source and they categorically stated that the rumour was false

    Great phones though

They aren't that great, they are just stylish and fashionable - therefore priced at a premium

So when you pay a premium for an Apple phone that does the same as a cheaper non-Apple phone, the irony is that you are paying "cool tax"

So at least someone is paying tax somewhere in the equation

Just thought I would give an update on my therapy which is has now ended.

Can honestly say I feel worse, dont know if thats the course or just coincidence.

Following discussions with the they are referring me for an alternative therapy, still group, but its for people living with long term health conditions which sounds better and I may have been better on this one in the first place.

Thanks for the update - glad they are listening to you and trying something different. Spoke to my friend who is a CBT professional and she said it sounded daft that you'd been referred to group CBT based on the issues you described. She said it was almost certainly just a financial decision as it's cheaper to run group sessions than 1:1. Frustrating when the outcomes are much less positive as a result. If your next group therapy is no better then she said to push them harder for 1:1 therapy. ( I know that's easy for me to say but nothing is more important than your health so we shouldn't be afraid to stand up to being fobbed off)

I have to fill a form in each week and state if i have ever had thoughts about ending my life, fortunately its not something thats ever crossed my mind which is good.

My condition is a type of blood cancer, they are very rare and i got diagnosed 4 years ago.

Basically the issue i have is my bone marrow makes too many red blood cells, amongst other things going on, this causes knock on issues as i have a massively enlarged spleen and as a result this puts pressure on my liver and I have varices in the lining of my stomach,

I was actually anaemic when i was diagnosed which for someone who produces to many red blood cells is odd, but because of the varices being there i had some bleeding from them. When they did my first endoscopy to see if i had a bleed it was panic stations and i was asked by a number of people if i had alcohol problems and still do to this day, which annoys me as they should really know they are caused by my condition, I do also have elevated liver counts too although i have taken a lot of steps to reduce these and they are currently not bad. 4 years ago i had to have a transjugular liver biopsy and im a 40+ year old man and had a bit of a breakdown in the hospital and got very emotional about it all but thankfully everthing was alright with my liver.

My condition is managable, if i get to the point i do have too many red blood cells they will do a phlebotomoy but ive never had to do that as i think my varices kep my bloods down to start with and now im on meds to control it.

The issues i could face is if my bone marrow scars up too much then it will actually do the opposite and produce not enough of anything. They actually misdiagnosed me with this but it was understandable due to being anaemic and also had a bone marrow biopsy which did show a level of scarring. This scared me to death as i did what everyone does and went online to read stuff about life expectancy of 5 years etc.

I dont mind talking about it, it gets it off my chest really.  At the moment my bloods are fairly stable which is good.

Wow - that's some heavy stuff.

I find it astonishing that they though group CBT was appropriate

which trust is this? Derbyshire? Maybe they have tight budgets, but as I say, all my friends who have had it have had 1:1 sessions  -all in Derbyshire. And none of them had issues as complex as what you describe.

Stick with it and keep pushing for better help when these sessions end

I am currently undergoing a 7 week course of group CBT, dont know if anyone else has experience of these sessions but I come away feeling awful.

Keep thinking one week i will suddenly feel great but doesnt seem to be the case.

I have a good friend who is a qualified CBT therapist. I can ask her if you like?

I know a few people who have had CBT (Not from my friend I hasten to add) for things like health anxiety (hypochondria as your nan might say) and dealing with chronic long term illnesses/disabilities. They have all found them really useful, but also said that they are hard-going as you have to face your issues full on and learn to deal with them. How many sessions have you had?

How many people read them? I know what you mean. But as you say someone takes them When they shouldn't, suddenly law suit happens.

I know - I've thought long and hard about a better way for them, but there really isn't one that doesn't involve increasing the packaging costs beyond the cost of the contents. Unless they put on the box - by opening this packet you confirm that you have read all the information on this webpage (that is an online copy of the big bit of paper). I don't think that could get read any less than the paper copy!

What I can't understand is why people seem to think supermarkets are great places to take their kids and allow them to run about or, even worse, treat the self check out as a game for them to play.

Annoying as it is - if you have no food in the house and no way of getting someone else to look after your kids while you go to the supermarket then you have no choice.

Going to the Supermarket is already stressful enough. I don't believe that anyone with kids takes them there through choice!

  10. Pretty sure this one must have been mentioned before in the past 256 pages, but people walking through public places whilst looking down at their mobile phone.

Just stand still if you need to look at your phone!

I'm advocating for an amnesty day where no one gets prosecuted if they just smash the phone out of the hand of anyone they see doing this.

those small cases on wheels. Ones that are the size of a small holdall which should be carried.

Every morning, I see a stream of women walking across the work carpark with a multitude of luggage, for WORK! Laptop Bags, handbags, food bags, AND a case on wheels! What on earth do they need these cases for!??

This happens at my place but it's usually people who have travelled and stayed overnight, checked out of their hotel and are doing a day's work before catching the train home. That's the ONLY time it's acceptable in my view :)
