Two great away days there in consecutive years. I can see Phil Gee going clear through on goal even now and when it went through Burridge’s legs - wonderful.

Yes, I do realise that. I know three people personally that have died due to Covid, and a heck of a lot more who haven't got back to anything like normal living. Thought I had acknowledged in my post that there would be a variety of reasons why they aren't there.
That doesn't alter the fact that the people who were sitting in my area of the ground, all regulars, did very little in recent seasons to get behind the team. Their money, their choice.
I didn't like it and much prefer to sit with supporters who give some support.

Don't know where you sit, Ewe Ram, but I sit in West Stand Upper. I had only been there a season and a bit before lockdown after moving from North Stand to get a better view of the game.
We were surrounded by regulars, mostly much older than us (I am in my sixties!) In general, they didn't bother clapping the players out, didn't clap good moves, but started the groans at every misplaced pass straight from the whistle. Lots of chuntering, very little positive support. We were already getting fed up of where we were sitting, despite the view!
We have returned to our same seats though, and at the two league matches so far, none of my previpus immediate neighbours have attended - and their seats appear not to have been sold. (Presumably as previous season ticket holders their seats are reserved until late in the day.) We sat in splendid isolation yesterday with three clear rows immediately in front of us and one behind. There were people further in, and further out to the corners. At a glance, these people are a much younger demographic than previously.
The difference in noise, encouragement, clapping and some singing is stark. It's brilliant and long may it continue.
I understand that there are good reasons why these regular fans aren't attending, I also understand their support may be of a quieter variety but the negativity is optional and I don't miss it one bit!
I can only speak for what I see in the bit of the ground I occupy, but if that is reflected elsewhere in the ground then I do think some of the people staying away (for whatever reason) were creating a negative atmosphere, or at very least not contributing in a positive way, whether they were aware of it or not.

The fans have been very supportive. Today was great. I was at Hull too and that was great, apart from one bloke that kept calling Joswiak a Polish twit and then looking around grinning like he’d just solved Fermat’s last theorem. Rick.

First of all,  more fans appeared today than against Huddersfield. More away fans, more fans in the north stand, more in the east and west stand but i couldn't see from the south stand where I was. Logic tells me more fans entered the stadium quite honestly as fewer empty spaces appeared throughout the ground. It was still sparse like 19-21,000 I would guess but higher than against Huddersfield.

On the ticket situation the club have not helped themselves. I've said a few times Hull was a nightmare and it got worse on wednesday thanks to their incompetent dealings. No idea who is running the operation if anyone but they need to be fired immediately for my money, it's an absolute joke. Ditto with home tickets for Boro, it's just absolutely farcical policies that are costing the club tens of thousands of pounds every match.

On the atmosphere it is great at the moment. Our backs are against the wall and we're supporting the club but it's nonsense to suggest it's the diehards who are generating an atmosphere and the 'fickle' fans not turning up responsible for previous problems. If they were turning up it'd be an even bigger fortress quite honestly and even louder. People aren't turning up for a variety of reasons and I don't blame them.

I hate how the club is being run; it feels like they only give a damn about the money we're spending, prising the ticket money out of our hands as the club is being run like the titanic as it's sinking but we're all pretending it's still afloat as the captain says he's trying to right the ship. In this case absolutely 0 information is being given about the health of the ship nor the lifeboat situation, there has been a meeting about the viability of a rescue but we can't possibly know its contents. As an adult I've never been more disenchanted and angry at the management of the club. It's an absolute disgrace and the club honestly doesn't deserve our hard earned money and the sooner mel gets his money, packs up and leaves the damn sight better off we'll be.

But supporting a club is going with the rough as well as the smooth. It's about paying ticket money even when we're poor and in extremely bad circumstances. I still go because I love Derby. I hate the way the club is being run, I don't like Rooney nor Rosenior and I think our footballing plan could easily see us relegated. But I've got to keep going because it's Derby...

The referee and the idiot running the East Stand line were embarassing. There was one incident in the second half when I think it was Forsyth winning the ball with a good tackle, the Boro muppet went down - ref hesitated for a few seconds, looked to the lino for guidance, the lino was struck dumb, looked at the ref for guidance and the ref must have thought to himself 'I'd better make some sort of decision here' and awarded a foul against Fozzy.
Crazy where they get these idiots from.

It’s going to be interesting tomorrow. Louie started last game, did well, got his eye in; with injury to Lawrence it means he gets second start on the trot. I think this is what he needs for his own development- Its a big test for him. He could very easily pass it and give Wayne some selection problems of the right sort. Just needs to keep a lid on the silly stuff. So he’s feared rather than bated in to an error of judgment.

Just got home from match. Great feeling, win on the road. Missed these night away games a lot.
We watched from a private box, mid-goal - great view!
Even missed sitting in the roadworks on the way home.

We all have opinions of our attacking/creative players. They all look sort of aimless at times and I think that’s largely due to the lack of tempo and intensity of our general play. It’s no coincidence that the likes of Bird and Watson look good and thread passes when we are pressing from the front and have movement. Our creative players have very little to aim at when we are slow and static.

Just feel like a lot of you are missing out on some fairly basic information that would make your lives a lot easier.

The tone of this match was set after seven minutes when the thug who looks to have broken Tyree Wilson’s leg was not even given a yellow card, let alone the red card that the challenge deserved.

What are peoples views on this? Countless times I have watched us with a narrow lead with only 10 minutes to go and we make a substitution. Whether that be a defensive player coming on, or a like for like swap. I personally hate it. Bringing a defensive player on just invites pressure and encourages the opposition to attack. A like for like switch gives the oncoming sub little time to adapt and get into the swing of things. Likely they are feeling added pressure as well. It probably takes a player at least 10 minutes for a player to get a feel for the ball/tempo, but when they are bought on with 10 minutes to go then it is difficult for them. I think this is what happened to Joz yesterday.

I personally feel it is only merited if there is an apparent injury/fatigue issue, or the lead is out of sight. It always seem when we are defending a narrow lead that these Subs are made and then it goes completely wrong. I’m not just saying it’s Derby, I’ve seen other teams do it as well. For me the team that has established the lead should see the game out, as they have had a feel for the game, the opposition, and the tempo. Rather than just chucking someone on and expecting them to immediately immerse themselves into how the game is being played. Added pressure and upsets the balance IMO?

He won the penalty that helped keep us in the Championship. He's nowhere near as bad as being made out. He tries his best, if that isn't good enough it's not his fault.
He's a Derby player being pilloried for no other reason than he's not what they think he should be.
Oh and he won that penalty!

Agreed, a lot of the time as football fans we're good at calling out rival fans and ignoring our own fans. Glad it's being called out

For all the clubs faults, I get the impression they've dealt with things like this well (see the clubs very strong statement over Craig Ramage comments) so hopefully those fans will not be returning

I think the problem for us right now is the transitions. We look so open on the counter. Bird and shinnie overrun in midfield. I definatly think a retweak in system is needed. I’d definatly go for the 433 with sibley and bird as the runners

For those putting Watson in as an attacking midfielder you need to consider Brentford last season on his full debut where he came off after 45 mins and Huddersfield this season where he came off after 50…..
Its not his best position. He is far better suited deeper where he is largely unopposed on the ball and has time to pick his head up and find his passes. That’s far more difficult and requires a different skill set to do further up the pitch where there’s less space and more pressure on the ball.
It’s similar to the Festy situation where we are being fooled by the fact that he’s creative so must play at the top end….when he’s better creating from deeper.
He’s far more likely to be a replacement for Bird.
