Carnero reacted to Mckram in EFL appeal
How was Mel irresponsible? They wrote to the EFL telling them what they were doing and the EFL signed it off then changed their minds.
It’s the EFL that are irresponsible and aren’t fit for purpose.
I understand fans frustrations at Mel but calling him irresponsible for the EFL backtracking is ridiculous.

I refuse to believe the words of a newspaper journalist who’s ‘job’ is to sell stories no matter how little truth in them.
The issue here isn’t whether or not it’s acceptable to amortise players like we have. The issue is the EFL signed off that it was fine for us to use this method and then backtracked saying they’d made a ‘mistake’.
It’s like buying a TV and having an agreement saying you can pay for it over 12 months and then being told actually sorry we made a mistake you needed to pay upfront so now we’re going to have you done for theft. That’s how ridiculous this is.
Derby have no issue in changing their policy, but their argument is that they shouldn’t be fined/deducted points if they do so because they have written proof from the EFL allowing them to use that policy.
Also the EFL are not dragging this out, it’s an independent panel who make the decision and the announcement will go to both parties. So if the EFL are delaying any announcement then so are Derby.

When Gibson brought up ours and wednesdays misdeeds I thought he was full of it and still is on the most part but we overspent and that is cheating. We will receive a points deduction IMO and that will also prove him partly correct. All I have for mel is anger and I want him gone. I am most definitely not a WUM I'm just a very concerned Derby fan and the whole affair gives me massive anxiety.

Jesus, how can people moan about the club taking responsibility.
Didn't have to make the statement and if they hadn't people probably wouldn't have batted an eyelid.
Yes they have to now act on their words but overall, I'm glad they've accepted responsibility and shown a bit of class.

I don't understand the negativity towards the statement, its basically saying i know its not been good enough, but we will endevour to make it right, watch this space.
Seems fine by me, obviously today is not the time for going into specifics, but acknowledging the fact its not good enough is a positive statement in my opinion.
I feel better having read that than if they hadnt posted anything at all.

This conclusively proves that some fans will moan about anything and everything ?

The words of MM. I heard he personally apologised to some fans outside PP yesterday for “ the season you’ve had to endure”.
I hope the Club can all get together soon - perhaps a Fans Forum to explain what’s in store for next season. I don’t know why but I have a great sense of optimism for us next year.

I like that. Now, we know talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words but I’m pleased that someone thought it a good idea to put that out.
I’m very pleased the efforts of those at the ground yesterday was recognised. Hey, maybe that’s why the players went outside after the game, not for finishing 22nd, to thank the supporters for their encouragement. Who’d be embarrassed by that ? ?♂️

The actions will happen over the course of weeks, months even years.
Fans have been calling for an update from the club. That has been acknowledged by this statement. Hopefully, we will soon get to hear more details of the plans for moving forwards.
This is a start to opening that communication....a good thing.

You know, I was going to say, “a classy statement - accepting this year hasn’t been acceptable, recognising the fans and offering an apology” and wondering how long it would take for someone to post a negative view. It seems to have taken you less than a minute.

I celebrated yesterday, feel a bit hungover today. Starting the Guinness around 9 was perhaps a bit too early ? Why can’t we all celebrate doing what we had to do to stay up ?
-
Carnero reacted to Comrade 86 in EFL appeal
Harangue the players for not caring, then moan when they do. As for lambasting the fans... Don't even get me started on that. For my part, I'll be having a fat Sunday roast and a good few bevvies for the second day running, but then apparently I have low standards ?
-
Carnero reacted to BramcoteRam84 in EFL appeal
Well I celebrated. And I don’t care if the players celebrated. As horrendous a situation as it is and no matter how much of an epic failure this has been days like yesterday is why we love football and they do not come around very often. If you can’t enjoy that then what’s the point? ??♂️
It’s embarrassing to think any “fan” of our club is embarrassed about us celebrating to stay up.

I’m not a MM fan but what that really shows is that his tenure has been considerably more successful until the final year.

Carnero reacted to MrPlinkett in EFL appeal
I know some say the EFL don't have an agenda but I think they do. It would not surprise me one bit for the result of the appeal to be dragged on for a few more months, they may know they won't win but leaking snippets of information that suggests points deductions in the hope it will continue to derail us between now and when the season starts.
Points deductions or not, what cannot be disputed in my opinion is that 18 months after the original charges were made that it is still ongoing. The EFL claim their primary goal is to protect the league and the clubs within it, yet by being utterly and totally incompetent they do just the opposite.
Its disgusting and appalling that this has not yet been resolved. The EFL should charge themselves with breaching FFP rules..with FFP standing for Fit For Purpose in this instance. They are a disgrace of an organisation.

Carnero reacted to Eaststander7 in EFL appeal
It was an outpouring of relief by both players and fans alike. Did you see all the fans outside the ground? You embarrassed by them as well?
With the past 12 months and no fans allowed in the ground maybe it was an opportunity for the players to give the fans a thank you and a bit of reconnection.
People moan when there’s no communication/interaction from the club and people moan when there is....sometimes you just can’t win

Carnero reacted to PodgeyRam in Craig Forsyth
He's a cracking fella and a great character to have around. I actually thought he was pretty unlucky for the second goal, couldn't sort his feet out in time, and the third goal should have been given offside I'm willing to forgive him for that.
Buchanan should be first choice next season, but I see no issue keeping Fozzy around as back up. We have far more pressing matters to attend to during the transfer window than replacing someone who is set to be our 2nd choice left back next season.

Carnero reacted to JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta in Tom Lawrence
The simple fact is that if Tom Lawrence consistently played to his full potential he wouldn't be a Derby player, because Tom Lawrence is a bloody good player when he is on it.

Carnero reacted to Day in Show of support at Pride Park - Saturday 10am
Applaud every single fan that went to support the players today, they clearly appreciated it and as supporters that is our role in all this madness.
It’s easy to get behind the team when we’re winning, not so easy to do when you’re in the form we’ve been in.
I don’t care what other club fans say or try to claim it was, you were an absolute credit to this club today and I’m proud to say I’m a Ram.

New owner, massive transfer fees, huge expectations, new celebrity manager...then Mac or Wassall helping us escape relegation on the final day.

Carnero reacted to Derby blood in Show of support at Pride Park - Saturday 10am
Calm yourself down, every club would celebrate staying up on the last day of the season. Its want fans do, as for us being tin pot, you are tin pot, so please make sure you stay away from Pride Park next season, we do not need your negativity around our great club. Once A Ram Always A Ram.
-
Carnero reacted to G STAR RAM in Show of support at Pride Park - Saturday 10am
Im sorry but the fact that we have so many fans that think we are too big a club to celebrate surviving relegation in the last 5 minutes of the season is embarrassing too.
