Merry twixmas everyone. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I’ve spent mine on crutches after falling down the stairs on the Friday before Christmas 🤕
Chat away folks…
Sorry to hear that, hope you're fighting fit again soon.
Saw your dad at the game yesterday. It still feels like Daniel will come walking down the concourse to join us any minute.
He's definitely overseeing this unbeaten run and long may it continue.
Oxford will come at us on Friday, should suit us. Another win will be very useful.

💯 % approval from me!

That tackle was never a sending off and now the appeal against it has been unsuccessful.
Talk about referees' union!
I sometimes think I'm watching a different game altogether to the one I grew up loving.

I don't go to many SCGs as not really my role, but I do value them and certainly the contribution you make, @therams69. Your presence at games and willingness to chat to other fans about issues that you then take into meetings is really valued.
I agree an SCG meeting before the first match with rails would have been helpful, along with a fairly quick follow up review to see how it's going and take feedback. Don't think the latter necessarily needs full SCG but a smaller group of those directly affected.
Two things, I think the Club took an unexpected free couple of weeks due to our FA Cup exit to move the work forward, so there was less time to set this up.
The other is that I still think there is currently a lack of both numbers and experience in the staff team overall to think fan engagement as a given.
I think that the intention at the top is there, but it doesn't always happen.
A general point it might be worth making at the next SCG!
And just to add, I wish DCFCfans would consider rejoining now we have a new owner. I'm sure it would be welcomed.

That game went a bit under the radar. I expect they didn't want random Derby fans roaming around West Bridgford on a day the first team has a home fixture.
Great comeback from the disappointment of the cup exit.

It was markedly busier than usual in West Stand Lower, which is usually a good indication of an increased gate.
Lots of people scuttling back and forward for refreshments, lots of photos being taken, obviously not regulars.
Made no difference at all to the noise level as there was little to no singing and only polite applause. It felt like we were in a tourist stand.
Of more concern to me is the lack of sound emanating from the areas traditionally packed with season ticket holders. I haven't heard South Stand so quiet for ages.
Usual exception for the drummer and his hardy gang of song starters. Rest of Stand wasn't joining in though.

That was a typo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 all our players are paragons of virtue and sportsmanship, of course !
Chris Martin used to irritate me falling over, Jamie Ward made me laugh because whenever he fouled someone he looked at the ref like an innocent choirboy.
I always thought Chris Martin was innocent when he played for us, but the way he spent most of the game against Bristol Rovers fouling Cash really irritated me. So pleased Cash had him in his pocket and it was only the disorganisation after we went three at the back that allowed him to score.

He was VERY annoying wasn’t he ! 🤣
it’s a weird thing about going to live games. There’s always one particular knob on each team that stands out. He was last nights for me too 👍
Who was ours? 😉

Is this different from the Skills coaches?
No, it is a Skills coach.

Yep, Roadrider from Pride Park still has places.

Such an emotional service, the place was packed out, standing room only and a fitting tribute to Daniel's all-too-short life.
Your poem had everyone in tears @Mucker1884
Most people have been in club colours, with many scraves on show.
We are back at Pride Park now.

1Wildsmith 6 little to do apart from trying to save a penalty
23Ward 5.5 needs to pay more attention to his defensive duties or swap places with Wilson
35Nelson 8 assured
6Cashin 7.5 similar but one or two loose passes; wished his header had gone in
3Forsyth 5 not a great game but always willing. Will we see Elder on Thursday?
5Bradley 6 steady, somehow he affects the confidence of his defensive partners, though, which concerns me
4Hourihane 5 he has had a rest so why was he so lethargic?
7Barkhuizen 6 seemed determined when he came on, picked up the rebound for the goal. Needs to play like this when he starts
2Wilson 6 played in fits and starts
19John-Jules 6 tried hard but not really his sort of game
8Bird 5.5 I think Birdy is good enough to take these sort of games by the scruff of the neck but can only do that if someone gives him the ball occasionally. Is that his fault or theirs? Not sure.
17Sibley 5 struggled to get involved after his early booking
22Fornah 6.5 put himself about a bit at least
11Méndez-Laing 6 nothing much worked for him, still looked our most dangerous player
9Collins works so hard but getting manhandled all game
ATG
Wasn't really a good day at the office collectively. These are the days we need a bit of McGoldrick-type magic to rescue us. Hard work wasn't enough (because one goal is sometimes not sufficient!)

That’s a great picture @angieram. My Dad and I couldn’t get a very clear one. Could you send it to my Dad please x
Thanks. I've sent it over to him on WhatsApp, if you could let him know. I don't know if he uses it regularly but I didn't have an email address.

Got literally nothing to do with her being a female. She had refereed us before today and was one of the best we’ve had. No excuse for her poor display today, there’s no sugar coating that, but her gender is irrelevant.
Yes, it was the little things she was inconsistent on today, for example their right back was stealing 7 yards at every throw in first half (I was counting) and she never spoke to him at all. Fozzy was told to move back on his first throw.
Didn't like the way their defenders were holding and climbing over Collins but she didn't give one foul for that, yet gave some cheap free kicks at the other end.
Started the bookings really early, not sure Sibs knew the whistle had gone (I didn't hear it either).
Set herself up for a yellow card for every offence, yet didn't book that bad foul on Collins.
