Seem to remember that happening ! Not sure what can be done about it? But the way it's going on now, its ruining the game & the players & managers all seem to think it's an acceptable part of the game ?

I agree, diving and over acting is definitely ruining the game but, regardless of how injured the PV player was or wasn't injured, I suspect if a PV player had lashed out like that (even if the intention was only to hit the ground and was out of frustration) and caught one of our players on the head (even with just a glancing blow with the arm) most of us would have been calling for a red card.

The ref has to make a decision and for him it’s hard without replays. I’ve got that advantage, seen three clips and no way did he hit him and it wasn’t an overly aggressive slap on the ground either. The PV players grossly exaggerated the effects of what was just two players tangled together after close contact when competing for a ball and then by influencing the referee unfairly. Sorry lads, biased or not that is no way a red. You can blame the ref if you like but his only crime was being weak and being taken in by what some people call gamesmanship but i call cheating. LeVe the ref alone and let’s talk about the two PV players who are a stain on sportsmanship.

Ive had time to calm down and tried to look at some of the refs decisions with a bit less passion. When you're at the match watching it live you can get caught up in the theatre of it all and allow your love of your club get in the way of seeing it from a fair perspective.
Having watched as many highlights and clips as I could find, I must admit that the cheating barsteward was worse than I thought.

It's amazing how differently people see things at a football match! It seems most people think the Rams were pretty poor, even awful for mot of the match. I saw it that we could have been 2 or 3 up at half time, and all match long Port Vale only threatened our goal 3 times - and one of those wasn't the first penalty, which wasn't even on target. And yes, justice was done by that miss.
And yes as was apoplectic about the ref for most of the match. He was appallingly bad in the first half, but was screwing both side, because he had absolutely no idea what an agenda was. Clearly the EFL put him right on that one at half time. Having said that, Vale should have been down to ten men long before half time. Their number 22 spent virtually the entire match diving to the floor, and should have been carded for it, so his actual yellow card for the foul should have been his second.
So when he committed that yellow card foul in front of the dug-outs in the second half, he should have been walking off. The ref dodged the issue by playing the advantage, but then failing to go back and deal with the foul afterwards. The first penalty should have been a yellow card for simulation - a very harsh decision, given by the linesman, the second one the ref gave from 30 yards behind the play, as he was for most of his poor decisions. He gave offside following a Derby free-kick from 30 yards behind the play (again) when the lino hadn't seen anything, and had no idea what was going on, until the ref indicated offside, and had to tell him to put his flag up - which he did, pointing straight up into the sky because he still didn't know what was going on.. Again, how I don't know because there were defenders between the Derby players and the goal.
And the Collins incident - Collins was wrestled to the floor, the defender pulling Collins down on top of himself, so regardless of the "afters", it should have been a penalty.
A penalty to Derby County? Are you being serious, Dave? But he was able to instantaneously give the red card from  - yes, you've guessed it - 30 yards behind the play. No way could he see what had happened, and seemed determined to wade in with his card regardless. But when Collins was then thrown to the floor, what did he do? Nowt. AS he did when Max Birds was tripped running into the area. Come on - that is two very good penalty shouts come to nothing. And when Sibley was wrestled to the ground right near the end, it was somehow a free- kick to Port Vale. Someone reckoned at wasn't yet another penalty denied, but that must come from having aspirations of becoming an EFL match official. What made it worse was the Vale player giving Sibley a playful double slap to the cheek as he got up, rubbing things in - the Vale man knew what had gone on, no doubt.
The turning point was the decision ignoring the trip on Max Bird in the area - that made it blatantly clear that the match was never going to go our way, as were the vast majority of decisions, and sadly our heads went down from that point onwards. So it was only a matter of time before that 2nd goal went in. And to their credit Vale did take advantage of the extra man.
And about whether the police should get involved for Collins assaulting the Port Vale player - they certainly should get involved with their keep after the match had ended, because he was winding the Derby fans up, and actually told the South Standers to meet him outside - and yes there were some stood near the Vale team coach afterwards to have "words" with him. That is inciting the crowd to violence, which I believe is an arrestable offence.
It is the first match in ages where the officials were escorted off the pitch before any of the players - they normally wait until the Derby players come across to the South Stand so it sounds like were are applauding them off the pitch. Not today - they were running away as soon as they possibly could.
There is a tweet going round showing how the opposition manager met with this ref after a previous match where he had made some awful decisions against Port Vale. Not that we can read anything into this, of course, but it is funny how things turned out today.
I left the ground today disappointed and very angry, but also pleased with how Derby were trying to get things moving forwards every time they got the ball, and were the only team really threatening the goal. If that chance which Knight put wide had gone in, we would have been two up after only 7 minutes, and game over. There were several clearances on or near the goal line. IF their number 22 (and no, I have no intention of bothering to look his name up) had been properly dealt with for his misdemeanours, or if we had been given just on of the three good penalty shouts, we would have won that. And if we hadn't let our heads go down at the appalling decisions going against us, we may well have won. When we are moving forwards, it is not so silky smooth and easy on the eye as it was under Rosenior, but it is one heck of a lot faster and with a whole load of purpose, which to me is much more exciting. There is much to be hopeful about with this team. Stick around guys and stay wit us. I believe we are going somewhere!

What the fcuk was that? What a disgraceful performance. The only thing he got right was the 2nd penalty - otherwise it was series of embarrassing, incompetent decisions, some of which, like the Sibley one at the end, are simply unexplainable. I don’t think we helped ourselves but Jesus wept.

Fully expect Gibson to issue a legal challenge to our appointment of Paul Warne given our business plan restrictions. The fact we were able to appoint him before Boro had the chance to sack Wilder and do it themselves is an obvious breach of a regulation that Gibson has just invented in his own mind and will now impose upon the EFL.

I remember him saying that his father and family were here when he became interim manager and Liam was so proud to be leading this team …it didn’t work out but he conducted himself with grace even leaving with a statement unlike some others who have not given a s*** about this club …respect where it’s due good luck Liam I will applaud you if you ever return to PP even as an opponent …good luck

Tom thumb says, "There's no doubt about it, I'm the smallest in the land."

Quasimodo says, "There's no doubt about it, I'm the ugliest in the land."

Their mates tell them to prove it by going to the magic all-knowing mirror, and the three head off.

A few minutes later, the door of the pub bursts open and Snow White runs in and says, "It's official...I'm the fairest in the land!"

Shortly afterwards, the door again bursts open and Tom Thumb runs in and shouts, "It's official...I'm the smallest in the land!"

Five minutes later, the door gets kicked in and Quasimodo storms in and bellows, "Who the feck is  Steve Cooper?

Blimey it's 3 in the morning and your on here .  There's rent free and then there's Pacific Heights.  Obviously, the sheer panic at having blown close to 100 million more than your promotion and parachute pay outs over 4 years, on long contracts, for a  load of rapidly depreciating s**** is keeping you up.  Every Forest fan I see at the minute has the face of a bulldog licking piss of a nettle.
Per your previous posts about enjoying Match of the Day, I did say I would enjoy watching your 45 seconds of airtime every week and indeed I am.  Please thank that cart house of a Captain and the other 75 players you have and do keep up the sterling work.
800k. Thats about a month of the tik tok stars wages.  Ask Birmingham about Bielik their paying it.
I don't know of any business that went under due to our administration.  Perhaps you could look closer to home at the 100k you owed to catering firms, that they had to take you to the high court under a winding up petition to attempt to get back as they laid of staff.
Try and get some sleep. a few betamax videos of the old days and a can of out of date Shipstones circa 81 dug out from that  box in the loft marked 'days from the 3 years we were relevant'  should send you off.

darren22 reacted to jono in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
It’s seemed a heck of a long time over perhaps the last 3 years supporting a team that scores so few goals relative to our peers; wherever we have been in league. It’s the single issue that has eaten at me as a fan. If Warne changes that and we are at the right end of the table then in most senses, I’ll be happy. What has been frustrating is that I know we have had and have players with goals in their armoury but somehow that fundamental has got lost in a lot of theory and over coaching. (IMO ?)

I've voted Warne reason is that if the club owner and his advisors think he is the man for the job, then go for it. At the end of the day Mr Clowes is the owner and he will get on with the job.
LR has done a reasonable job, but there have been some poor stuff, and dubious tactics and selections. IT was always made clear he was an interim manager, and the club were looking for a permanent guy.

Easiest solution is for referees to book players for it as they’re supposed to much more readily. Would only take a few weeks of referees being really strict for teams to ease off with it.

There was an interesting discussion on this on Guardian Football Podcast last week. They were saying that African Nations Cup suffered terribly from time wasting meaning there were so few goals later on in games.
It's a very effective tactic, as rather than waste time as such, it just takes momentum out of the game for the team trying to get a goal.
Having to leave the pitch after treatment maybe tried to address it, but players come straight back on anyway. Perhaps players should have to remain off until the ball next goes out of play? Or for a set period of time? Perhaps a player who goes down and can't get straight up can be immediately stretchered off for treatment on the side.
Must be some easy rule changes that would make games more enjoyable.

I'm not worried, I'm just annoyed that having to pay them anything allows them to sustain the fantasy that they were wronged in some way. In the meantime, Watford and Forest's owners sail merrily on gaming FFP by selling players to themselves at inflated prices and the EFL does SFA about it. I think the best way of shutting that scam down would be for another member of the Clowes family to buy a smaller club in the EU and use it to shift money and playing assets around. That should ensure the loophole is closed pdq.

No team has an average of 20 shots and an average of 0 goals over a season. Not in the history of football. I'd challenge any team to find one.
It is impossible for this to continue. One of two things will happen; 1.) the chances will dry up completely or 2.) we start putting them away.
At present, short of putting on his boots and finding the net himself, I'm not sure what Liam Rosenior can do other than convince his players the goals will come. Some saying it's a psychological issue but personally I'm skeptical that Collins is missing the goal due to some unresolved childhood trauma.
If the first scenario does happen, it's a coaching issue and then it would be time to look elsewhere.
There's lots of reasons to be optimistic that number 2 will happen. Those saying "it's the same story as last season" is only true in the fact we're not scoring goals. Last season, we only really scored and looked competitive against footballing sides with a high-press, where we'd create very high quality chances and would see clinical finishing. This season, we're also able to create chances against sides with a low block, but we can't hit a barn door with a banjo.
Let's not forget, we're out of administration, but we're still a club laden with debt. Keeping CKR or signing another striker is one obvious solution to what's happening. You cannot blame Rosenior for that.

I had exactly the same problem tonight. Always watched RamsTV on my TV in the past, but tonight it wasn’t playing ball. Reset everything, downloaded new browsers and all sorts but nothing worked. Thought I was going mad so wish I’d seen this thread earlier, I assumed it was an issue with my Xbox! Wasted about half an hour ducking about with that.
Seems the EFL must be tightening up on things this year, annoyingly. I’ll have to watch on my iPad.
