If I had the wings of a sparrow
Always gets my goat when this is sung!
Years back it was always wings of an Eagle.
Can't imagine those poor little sparrow wings carrying a crows arse.

I remember Willie Young getting sent off at the BBG and arguing with the ref for what seemed ages and the popside singing "little Willie Willie won't go off" to the tune by Sweet.

As @Van der MoodHoover has indicated above, McMahon felt that he was supreme in dishing it out.
He tried in on at the BBG once too often, when Mickey Lewis decided enough was enough. Timing his tackle fairly, McMahon was still on the floor as Mickey nonchalantly walked away. Strangely McMahon was anonymous for the remainder of the game…..!Glyn Davies and Frank Upton could also look after themselves- ask the Wendies, January 1959 away.
Geraint Williams also sorted Mel Sterland out when he tried it on at Hillsborough, similar to McMahon.
I remember him doing McMahon a couple of times in one game and Liverpool took him off and sent Molby on, who was clattered within a couple of minutes and I'm pretty sure Lewis laughed at him.

Remember how averages work. Maybe CEO and head of recruitment will be on good salaries (£150k pa?), but many backroom are minimum wage (i.e. shop, ticket office etc).
Now, we have players like Collins and Hourihane who signed when we had no one credible to play. PW has stated there are some players on very high salaries he might not have gone with. It one takes one or two of them, on extremely high salaries, to skew the average.
Bill Gates on a train: If everyone on this forum was on a train with Bill Gates the average wealth of people on the train would be over £1billion. At the levels you are discussing, it doesn't take many players to skew the average quite perversely.
Are the shop and ticket office staff directly employed by DCFC or is it Fanatics and seat geek who employ them?

The question is, 'where do we go from here?'
Under DC we will hope to have sustainable growth over the next few years, leading to promotion to the Premier.
However, some football fans are an impatient lot, would we prefer a mega rich foreign owner to come in and take over the club, in the hope that they will buy instant success?
Personally, I hope that DC will be rewarded by us fans with patience, but I wonder if it will be possible in modern day mega bucks football.

Did anyone actually get any sleep last night? I had "The Rams are going up ole ole" going round in my head on a loop all night!
Yeah no problem, but a few pints pre-match followed by plenty more till about midnight seems to help.

Nope. But neither are the 'rose-tinted spex' brigade. How long would you have given Clough Jnr?
Do you mean the rose tinted spec brigade that have backed a manager that has the club 1 point away from promotion?

How many will be sober enough to actually see the match? 😂
It's a pity we can't get a few more building the atmosphere inside the ground, rather than in local hostelries. I take it some people only know how to support the team when they are half cut?
You can't really build the atmosphere inside the ground because of the crap music played too loudly, although it will probably be bouncing in the South stand concourse.
I'll probably have 3 or 4 pre match pints, but am out that night, so saving myself.

What do you think competitive sport is?
Sport.
I don't find horse racing entertaining nor the shot put or the London marathon, but they are competitive sports that I wouldn't bother attending.

We sang a David Clowes song in the south stand at the Leyton Orient match.
David Clowes my lord, David Clowes
David Clowes my lord, David Clowes
David Clowes my lord, David Clowes
Oh lord David Clowes.
Saved our club my lord, saved our club
Saved our club my lord, saved our club
Saved our club my lord, saved our club
Oh lord David Clowes.

Sadly that's the last chance of winning the league gone, but on balance, I suppose it's a fair enough result. Disappointing that the offside and handball were not clocked for their goals, but we could have conceded a pen on another day.
There'll be some tired legs in both changing rooms tonight. Two decent sides who gave their absolute all.
I'd gladly let them have the pen if both of their goals were scrubbed off.
