Lack of fans at PP has been a factor. Some players just do not do enough in the 90 minutes. Overall when I look at the squad I still think that we have enough talent to have stayed up easily. It appears to me that clubs with certainly cheaper squads have stayed up  Swansea have spent £2 million on players in two years including getting Whittaker from us.

Whether or not Rooney goes, there are 10-12 players who are simply not good enough to play for the club.
    Here’s mine. Who are yours?
    Roos, Marshall
    Wisdom, Mengi
    Forsyth
    Bird, Beningime
Waghorn, Lawrence, Sibley, CKR, probably Gregory too.
    Loaned out
    Buchanan, Cresswell, Watson

I don’t think we have the players to just do this... we can’t pick a settled team because of injuries and lack of squad depth not to mention players underperforming.

Chris Hughton today insisted Nottingham Forest will do everything in our power to try and win the game v Sheffield Wednesday,he said we are obviously aware of rumours circulating that we will be wanting to lose, that is 100% not true, finally Hughton said,"I'll pass you over for a few words with this weekends Goalkeeper Lewis Grabban.

It really helped (and Mac said this himself) having Simmo as his assistant. He really encouraged Mac to attack. Rosenior seems a 'lovely bloke', but is he what Rooney needs as an assistant? Never thought Mac2 and Powell were on quite the same page either. Steeley was pretty good to have around too, but maybe Given fits well there?

I am sure Rooney has lots of Tactical knowledge however, I think the real skill lies in when to apply those tactics and I am not sure that Rooney has learnt that skill yet. In a number of games this season Rooney's changes in tactics have made matters worse.
For all McClarens faults I think he knew, in the majority of cases, when a change was required, what change was needed and when to make it.

This lot, together with the gaffer clearly need a gap year then another years holiday together in the Seychelles after the season of losses we have endured.

I would say the guy behind me in the East stand hates Derby the most, easily more than Sky, he boos the players, mainly Keogh but also Camara, Roos or Lawrence, tells the manager whoever he is that he doesn’t know what he’s doing and complains about the price of his pie and bovril at half time.

I hate all English clubs equally. Love Derby of course, would be cool for Mason Mount to win the Champions League but never understand the patriotism / rooting for the English clubs.

Maybe you’re right. However, I am unsure if players are actually coached to stand stationary ball watching from corners or not gambling on runs when we get it down the wing. The first half against Birmingham I thought there was a lot of good ideas - wasn’t pretty but we were getting players around others, had some combinations, nice moves. Just not great quality. Looked like this was actively coached In the week. Second half fell apart.

Apart from the obvious of players underperforming, I think it has also been down to squad size. Very thin squad overall, bolstered in January not helped with injuries before and after then either. Not many options on our bench to change a match. Also, I think a lot of the team is young and needs more experience around them- there is naivety sometimes in passes played or positioning. Seldom have we seen players making good runs off the ball, options etc and overall drive to win the ball back having lost it (ironically seen more of this in flashes recently in my opinion).
Also, lost quality of a couple years ago - Tomori, Keogh, Mount, Wilson, Martin and maybe players like Waghorn / Lawrence flourish more when they aren’t the main men.
I would guess off the field things could have affected performances - not paid on time out of contract etc. And of course no fans. This division is ruthless. You get a few players not at 100 per cent and your team will struggle like we are finding out.

History doesn’t mean anything. A lot of clubs ‘should’ be doing better. For me Derby should be doing better only because we have been in and around the playoffs for several years. To fall so dramatically is unacceptable.
