I do not understand the comparisons with Colin Todd.
Toddy was really fast over the ground.
Cashin, bless him, isn't. Indeed, to me, that's his main weakness rather than his height.

Yeah and John Gregory was vastly different to this unknown kid. He was a senior pro who had played about 250 games in the first division and an FA cup finalist

First time I watched him live also happened to be my second ever game watching Derby. In the middle of the game against Blackburn at Pride Park, Attackers bearing down on him, he took an aerial ball down on his chest, did three kick ups with it and pinged a pass so perfect it could have landed on a penny. He was a rolls Royce of a player 

I do respect everyone's right to an opinion but I do feel that comparison is a tad OTT! If I was picking my all time Derby side ,having followed them since 1964, then my three central defenders would be Todd,Stimac and McFarland.I like Cashin's determination but Todd was light years ahead of him.However,each to their own.

It's hard to dominate in a 2 with hourihane against 3 athletic CMs.

I said this on another thread the other day, would much rather keep Bird and find him a new midfield partner. Not a slight against Hourihane either, I think he continues to contribute in ways, but would like someone younger with pace and power alongside Bird. 

Not many had good games today, do you guys want to sell them all? Nyambe had his worst game in a Derby shirt - bin him too?
Bird needs an enforcer alongside him when he's not getting space like today, but he's been better in most of the games I've seen and can still be a big player for us this season.

I said straight away on the final whistle at Oxford,  that performance will have taken so much out of us, to attack relentlessly like that for 90 minutes was bound to take its toll.
I think the tactics were right today, we were 30 seconds from keeping our unbeaten run going against probably the hardest team we could have played.
Hopefully our next few games will give us an easier run and we can go on another unbeaten run.

That's what I mean. I said that I wasn't that impressed, not that he was terrible.
I still haven't got it out of my head that I was expecting Bradley to be a colossus and he's ok, but not much more than that for me.

If you sell Cashin you are not strengthening.

That game went a bit under the radar. I expect they didn't want random Derby fans roaming around West Bridgford on a day the first team has a home fixture.

If we don’t sell in Jan what sort of compensation can we expect in the summer? I wouldn’t sell as his partnership with Nelson is one of the main reasons for this great run. If we get promoted I would hope he would sign a new contract

I think an extra (quality) striking body is the difference between playoff push and trying to chase down the autos.

I dont understand why everyone thinks its a striker issue if jj stays fit i think we are fine itwms a creative midfielder we need the only part of the pitch i think we stuggle in is midfield

Truth is, the days of spaffing megabucks up the wall in the hope of promotion and/or winning something are, hopefully, behind us. Many clubs will have learned from our experience. Others haven't been so lucky and either don't exist or they are no longer in the top 4 divisions. Others currently struggling include Everton -10 points this season. Citeh facing something like 115 charges. Chelski in the deep dark and sticky. Reading in deep trouble. Wigan still struggling. DCFC will, for the foreseeable future, only spend money it has. DC has made that clear. Right now we aren't, IMO, attractive enough for a billionaire wanting to turn his billions into millions...
Abroad you see Real and Barca a billion each in debt. It simply can't go on.

I think that bolstering midfield is more effective than the defence 
I never understand why crowding the defence with extra numbers works. I say stop the ball at source which is really midfield. keep the back four and crowd the middle of the pitch may work better ?
