The priority system is fine and completely just. The length of the windows are the issue because tickets are being released so late. Everybody buying tickets should be able to do before the postal deadline IMO.

I’ve emailed the ticket office today, on the matter of timing of away tickets coming on sale. Taking Shrewsbury as an example, fans who cannot get to Pride Park and buy in person are essentially excluded from buying a ticket- unless they are away members with 5+ games last year. For anyone else, there isn’t enough time to post the tickets, as they come on sale either 3 or 1 days before the match (depending on whether you are an away member or not).
This doesn’t just include non-Derby based fans; it includes anyone who can’t get to Pride Park due to mobility issues or lack of transport.
My proposed solution would be to give only 24 hours between each “tranche” of fans (20/15/10/5 games) getting access to tickets, rather than 48 hours. This (rightly, in my opinion) still gives the more travelled fans priority, whilst also giving all fans a fighting chance of getting a ticket on general sale.
I know that a lot of away games will sell out before they get to general sale, due to small allocations and lots of loyal fans, but the principle is important. And there will be matches with larger allocations where this could be a real problem- we could end up with tickets going unsold as they don’t leave enough time to post out tickets to those buying on general sale.
    Thoughts welcome.

    Pretty much yup.
China used more coal in 2020 than the UK has used in total since 1978 and its due to build approx another 500 coal power stations by 2030.  We could reduce our carbon output to 0% but it would have little effect on world CO2 emissions whilst crippling our economy and way of life in the meantime.
Do I believe that climate change is real?  Sure.  Do I think we should do something about it?  Yup.  But its not the average bloke in the street that is the problem is it?  Its the jet set elite class that fly around the world virtue signalling and developing nations that XR and Greta would never dare to protest in.

I don’t think the issues we’ve had are particularly to do with forward planning.
Part of the reason we lost so many young players very recently is because we simply couldn’t hand out contracts whilst in administration. That problem was of course temporary, and I hope never poses an issue again.
The main difficultly though is persuading players to stay here. Until a player is a professional, we have no control over whether they stay with us or move elsewhere. We’ve seen a lot of players turn down pro deals here to sign at big clubs like Man City and Liverpool instead. That shows that our academy status is not enough alone to keep players here.
Is there actually anything more we can do though, or is this just an issue built into the academy system? I fear it will always be this way, takeover or no takeover. We already clearly offer more first team football for youngsters than any other team practically, so I don’t know what else we can do.

Smart move this. I like how we are taking our time instead of thrashing out a 3 year deal. IMO Liam shouldn't get the job based on his appreciated tireless efforts to get the team ready, but based on results. This will allow us to see if he has what it takes, if it works, then great, we can hand him the deal as permanent manager then, of not, then is saves us sacking him, thus costing us a load of money.
Finally, it seams like the club is making level headed and smart decisions. Anyway come on Liam, we are all behind you, make this job yours, I really hope you do, there is not a nicer bloke in football ?

Sounds like we sit in the same area, we’ve been screwed a bit by the new system, under the old pricing structure ours we’re the 2nd cheapest tickets now they’re joint most expensive ??‍♂️ Having said all that I still won’t move seat.

I remember seeing something from Lloyds Bank that over 80% of their customers have less than £500 in savings.
I can fully understand people being reticent to drop 80% of that on a season ticket, especially in the current climate.

I don’t think some people are fully grasping the restrictions placed on us regarding signings. It’s ok saying we should be recruiting younger players for the future but any sensibly run club (unlike ourselves) will have their best young talent tied down to contracts and it seems we’re only shopping in the frees and loans market. We’ve got a few weeks to build a 25 man squad, it’s literally all about this window and this window only at the moment.

We'll be lining up with 1 up top, therefore, game time for 3rd choice will be limited. Stretton will be on lower wages, offer something different to the others, but still be a goal threat as he has shown at ever level he has played.
Three 30+ forwards isn't the way I would go. Two experienced forwards with an up and coming youngster (Stretton) is what I would do, so some wages could go towards someone with a more important role in the squad.

I think at this stage we just need players in general. We’re absolutely thread bare and seeing as the players were looking at are generally older it’s likely they will pick up injuries through the season. We need to be starting the season with at least 4 strikers IMO, going to stick my neck on the chopping block as well and say young jack stretton will get at least 10-15 goals next season if given the game time of course.

Does anybody know If we were to bring money in from transfers are we then allowed to spend money on transfers? I was the under impression that currently we are banned from doing so under the terms of the business plan.
