I have some very sad news this evening.  Daniel (B4) died earlier this week. He was just 38.
As you know, he has been battling numerous health conditions for a long time, but always remained cheerful  and was the most loyal supporter of his beloved Rams, home and away.
He was at the match at Crewe and gave his full support as always.
Daniel leaves behind a grieving dad, mum and sister. Our thoughts go out to them and we only hope they get a little comfort from knowing how well loved Daniel is by all who know him.
Here are a couple of photos that his dad agreed could be shared. I'm sure many of you have others, as Daniel loved a selfie at the game.
David is hoping to arrange a more fitting tribute in time, but for now please raise a glass in his memory and a good Derby win today. I am sure that's what Daniel would have been doing tonight.

Hi Derby fans, I know you have bigger fish to fry in terms of wanting Warne out, but thought I would provide a little information on the current Northampton side to provide you a little context before tomorrows game.
We are very much a yo-yo side between L1 and L2 and as most expected we are struggling this season. We have not lost any game by more than 1 goal but that is not helping our points tally at all. Injuries have been a massive issue the last 12 months or so, its rare we have had less than 8 out injured. Whilst injuries are part and parcel of the game, when you already have a squad expected to struggle it creates a bit of an impossible task.
We are unlikely to have any of of injured bodies back for Tuesday, which means our best CB and best striker are injured. Considering both boxes is where we need to improve that is not good news!
Our manager Jon Brady has lived in the area for decades since moving across from Australia. Played for lots of clubs in our region and then got the permanent managers job after managing the U18's. He is extremely passionate (maybe too much so as gets booked so often), but he is also passionate about the club and area which really has built a link with the fan base. He has also done a fantastic job so far in my opinion, developing our style away from just pure long ball which we have endured a lot of over the last few decades. We are not total football by any stretch of the imagination but have the ability to retain the ball far better now. That being said he is clearly getting frustrated at the lack of available bodies and the low budget he has to work with in L1. Despite our lowly position he is still pretty much universally backed by the entire fan base.
In terms of danger man you are right to highlight Sam Hoskins. He has gone from a player who was very much a marmite player amongst the fanbase to a club legend. He has always worked extremely hard and has played in every outfield position for us during his time here. The problem was his work rate would often mean that he was seemingly undroppable which meant he was an easy target. However Brady has recognised that he is comfortably our best finisher, meaning he is now less involved in build up play but much more in the final 3rd which has seen his goal tally rocket. He was the first player to score 20 goals for us since the early 90's and is now top 10 all time in appearances and goals.
Two other players that stand out for us (that are currently fit) are defenders Sam Sherring and Marc Leonard. Sherring is a young defender who is comfortable on the ball and is continuting to develop, i have no doubt he will go onto bigger and better things. Leonard is on load for the second season in a row here from Brighton and is arguably the best natural talent I have seen in the CM for us. We have had Matt Grimes and Matt Crooks here in recent years but Leonard just keeps things ticking over effortlessly.
I wonder if we may set up with a back 3/5 (I know not popular here!) Something along the lines of....
                           Burge
               Willis Sherring Monthe
    Odimayo                               Brough
                   Mcwilliams Leonard
    Pinnock                                  Hoskins
                        Simpson

I am going for a narrow 2-1 loss which is very much the story of our season. A point would be massive for us but despite your recent troubles there are still several levels between the sides.
Looking forward to being back at Pride Park and will post my thoughts after the game. Enjoy the game and rest of the season!

Don’t want to be damning with faint praise because that was a markedly better performance than many this season. We seemed to be coherent, attacking and defending as a unit and players were doing their individual jobs well.
    but Exeter were pap.
we should be putting a sword to teams like that. Glad we did.
Under the circumstances that was 2 feet in the right direction. Just need to maintain that now and we’ll be happier fans and picking up points.

I’ve been pretty patient so far.
    ’give him til Christmas’
‘new team with injuries needs time’
but after a 2 week break with players back and fit and still we can’t pull a decent performance together I am starting to lose faith.
the fundamental point is, with the players we have, we should be really tonking very average league one teams.
maybe not winnng every game. But certainly not losing and playing badly.
does feel a bit end of Clough/start of Mac 1 territory
i kinda hope Warne pulls it around
but it does, right now, feel like he’s not got any answers.

I'm a realist. I am Collins biggest critic, but he did well that second half. Can we get a better striker than him? Absolutely. But I'll take my hat off where it's due, he linked up well in the 2nd half and took his goal well. NML was far too deep and unused in the first half at times, but honestly, I don't care about any technical assessment, I'm just happy to see us play well in the 2nd half, score some good goals, and most importantly, get the 3 points.

Fornah, Niambe and Cash were unreal. As was everyone at times.

    Happy Ram.

Personal opinion is that Ed Dawes is exactly how I’d be as a commentator because I’m a fan and in the moment my head is often led by my heart/my emotions.

Think he doesn’t deserve half the criticism he gets from here and actually bbc radio derby have managed to spoil us in terms of the quality we’ve had at local level.

Again he was pushing for the hard answers and working behind the scenes to find out what was going wrong whilst many other fans were sucking up to Kirchner because we were desperate. He didn’t let that desperation stop him getting to the bottom of Kirchner’s bollox.

I like Steele as he often will call out players for not doing what they are supposed to do. And he very much sounds like he knows what he talking about due to long experience working on the coaching staff at clubs.
This means, he doesn't just continually blame the manager all the time, but puts responsibilty on the players.
Maybe other pundits, or posters, could take note.

Stripperg-ram got a reaction from Archied in How would you feel if Mac returned again?
I often think about Mac 1. How it tainted us as fans. A perfect storm.
Clough had assembled a squad but couldn’t get a tune out of it. SM plus Simmo and Eric Steele were a perfect mix of high end experience and old player club affinity.
3-0 down at home (against Ipswich?) and we came back to draw 4-4 after he had a word at half time despite not actually having started the job yet. That started a run of games and a moment in time that was certainly my best experience being a rams fan since the late 90’s.
If they scored 3 you’ll be damn sure we’ll score 4.
I haven’t seen players play with that sense of freedom and fun before or since. They could intuit each others positioning and know their roles instinctively.
What I’d do to have a bit of that right now
but I don’t think he’d have the same effect now we’re in League one - it’s a different kettle of crabs. And it’s not like he’s done much elsewhere.
I’m still up for giving Warne time, despite how messy we were on Saturday. I think he deserves until Christmas - but that’s to turn things around and give us a style/formation/identity. If he can’t do that then I’d love someone to come in and do a Mac 1. But I’m not sure that’s Mac himself. 🙏🏽

Injuries aside, I just can’t see what we’re trying to do in terms of formation or strategy. We looked like busy fools. An energetic, yet tired away side, not a confident home side. Waghorn with some good service is good enough in this league to score a hatful of goals and his tenacity and engine are a real bonus.
Nelson played well and I actually thought Korey Smith had one of his better games, but along with everyone else just couldn’t string a set of passes together.

After a 2 week break and apparently a fitness mad manager at the helm we shouldn’t be that leggy in September
NML needs benching. He needs rest and become a threat/surprise again. He was found out half way through last season and he’s not been effective for ages. He can still do a job, but needs a refresh.
I’m not ‘warne out’. I’d give him until Chrimbo - but there has to be some sense of a plan. Maybe a bit glib but I didn’t think Pompey were all that good considering they’re one of the top clubs of the league. Even at our most bang average we still had enough to neutralize them, so a solid back four and a consistent attacking formation can get us a possible 2 pts a game with the players we’ve got in a seemingly poor league. But that needs to happen sooner rather than later.
