Bizarre first day to a test match.
Both sides incredibly sloppy, with dropped catches and poor shot selection (even allowing for Bazball)
Losing Moeen is a blow on a pitch which shows signs of spin. Hoping Root can pick up one or two. Was also hoping Anderson would find his mojo, but it looks more likely he’ll be finding his cocoa.
So it’s pretty much down to Broad, Wood and Woakes to bowl Australia out.

After reading about it on here, I went back to The Newsroom on Atlantic because I missed it entirely when I was in the States for some reason.
We've almost finished the first season, and I'm a bit on the fence.
It has some really outstanding elements to it, and Jeff Daniels is fantastic, as per usual.
It was really cool to see bit part politicians like Rick Santorum and the loony tune, Michele Bachmann featured. Also, the stories that I remember like that of a 92-year-old black women who was stopped from voting because she didn't have a driver's licence or passport. And the way they weaved it all together was pure genius.
But some of the script feels almost amateurish, and the subplot romance between Jim and Maggie is almost embarrassingly poorly written and acted. It's almost like Sorkin takes a few minutes off here and there, and Coco the Clown takes over.
Overall though, I'm enjoying it because so much of it is done so well and we'll definitely keep going

I’m not necessarily down as I think we will be tough to beat. I guess my point is that teams will set up to defend against us and in McGoldrick’s absence, we don’t have that little bit of quality to make space.
All of the players touted as potential goalscorers missed a hatful last season. You don’t become a natural goal scorer overnight.
 I just think we need a bit of pace alongside Collins and a midfielder prepared to make late runs and pick up a few goals.
85% of the team is sound.

 I think we will struggle to break teams down based on our current personnel.

Harry Leonard at Blackburn fits the profile of a younger striker with some championship experience.
Unlikely to get many starts so might like a loan move.
Wouldn’t be too expensive.

If we need a budget version, I’d really like a Dobbin or similar with electrifying pace who can stretch and distract defenders. Even if that player isn’t prolific he will help those around him.
Rhodes sounds poor VFM and it’s dangerous to buy a player based on success in the distant past, especially if that player is earning more than those around him.
