Same team again? Or some rotation due to 2 games in quick succession with lots of energy used? Stretton may get the nod over Baldock. Will we see Joz or Sibley start? Suddenly there are 3 or 4 options appearing on the bench that allow for some rotation without impacting the quality too much.

Dethorn reacted to brady1993 in Recovering 21pts: is it possible?
I did a similar breakdown a couple games ago. The first thing to know is how many points would we need.
The average number of points needed to better to stay up over the past 5 seasons is 44.6 with a range of 40 to 51.
So the question following that is where will we land on that range ? I think we can get an idea of that from the teams above us in the table; there are 4 teams average less than a point per game with 3 teams going at 0.8 ppg. If you project that out you get those teams only making around 37 ponts. That's 4 teams expected to do no better than 37 points come the end of the season on current rate. Even with an amount of improvement in performance it suggest that the points total to beat this season is going to be low.
I think you can treat a point per game as a hard limit on what 22nd will finish up on come the end season i.e. 46 points and I think based on previous history it's reasonable to set a low limit of 40. So somewhere between 40 and 46 points is what I think we likely need.
With a 21 points deduction we'd then need somewhere between 61 and 67 (assuming we only need to match the points tally because of goal difference). Currently (ignoring the deductions for a second) we'd have been on course for 60 points with our ppg meaning we'd need to improve a little to get another 1-7 points out of the remainding games.
To my mind that looks theoretically possible. Ultimately though I don't think it's likely because it needs an awful lot to go right in terms of injuries, fitness, an overall improvement in performance, not to get asset stripped in January and morale staying high after another points deduction.

Yes you are - no doubt she's too exhausted from all that housework to remember that also! Joking by the way before I get attacked. Hope you both get there in time

yep 15 yard scuff imho
one of my least favourite Derby days ever
and to this day I still do not like Leicester much - I cannot believe I was one of few Neutrals who really did not want them to win the league lol

I'd spend a load on cars, women and alcohol.
I'd probably waste the rest?

Dethorn reacted to CBRammette in Crowd-funding to keep us playing?
Back to Roy's original question, does anyone know anyone with experience of setting this up who could help if we need this? Is it hard to get going? If we need £1.5m for Sept or Oct and 50,000 people sign up that would be £30 each or a match ticket to save another 3 point deduction. I know its a really tough time for many but some who can would hopefully donate much more (ex players????) and enough people giving £2.50 or a coffee would really help.
The simplest form would seem to be Donation Crowdfunding where People invest simply because they believe in the cause. Donors have a social or personal motivation for putting their money in and expect nothing back, except perhaps to feel good about helping the project.
sorry if this seems pie in the sky but can we really just sit back and do nothing assuming the money will come from elsewhere?
Am i going mad to want to try?

Dethorn reacted to BobbyTheReadingFan in Notice to appoint administrators
Hey All,
I heard this news earlier. I don't know much about the history of how you got to this stage but I know that it's due to mismanagement and really poor conduct by owners. I also heard Rooney earlier say he heard about the Administration when watching TV.
I was gutted to hear this latest update. I like Derby - although that's not really the point at the minute...
I think the point that I wanted to make is that every single football fan really needs to take notice here. It could be there club next. It doesn't matter if they're your biggest rivals, you hate the club, etc.. it's more than that. I'm sick of seeing rich owners come in, playing at being a chairman, making poor decisions or taking risks and then putting the whole club in jeopardy. I'm also sick of the rest of the footballing world just ignore it and almost watch on with mild interest to see what happens. We're all football fans first and foremost and clubs like yours and others have been around well over a hundred years and form a huge part of the community.
It's the fans that really suffer here. Not to mention the staff, those in back office roles, canteen staff, cleaners, car park attendants, maintainance people, etc...
Anyway, I hope that there is some better news for you soon although I realise things look bleak. I know you're going to try to negotiate on the points deduction, either way hopefully there's some clarity and closure on that so you at least know where you stand and can focus on football.
Great result today as well (at least that's one positive!)

Was released in the spring. Decent keeper, good at saves apparently but often static on crosses. Could save the club a fortune on catering though.

on set pieces and throw ins WBA pile loads into the box so leave the two forwards on the half way line and split so to make more room for us to actually defend with some space in our box as WBA will need at least 3 back to cover them especially if our forwards are wide enough and it gives Roos some options to get it forward.

2 out of the 8 are Leicester
1 against us - one goal should have been disallowed and the other assisted by someone who should not have been on the pitch grrr
1 extracting the Urine out of EFL rules as they now stand

He does have a point. Bird all too often plays it sideways instead of turning and playing forwards. Eventually someone gets it under a bit of pressure and the ball goes astray. I’d much rather play the ball forward and loose it than play lots of balls sideways until we loose it.
In the words of Paul Scholes if you’re going to play in midfield you can’t pass the ball backwards.
If you play in midfield you have to have enough about you to play the ball forwards 80-90% of your passes. Bird has all the attributes to be a good midfielder he just needs to work out why he’s on the pitch. It is not to keep possession.
Bird isn’t the only one there are others but he is the most frustrating as he could actually do it with the ability he has.
