I would think for Mel to agree to this fan meeting on Weds the idea would have been for the HMRC to be paid & some signings in rather than the position we're currently in just so it eliminates abit of the fans anger/frustration

    In an absolute nutshell this

    you would think wouldn’t u

It is in the club’s power to get the embargo lifted. If they do not, it’s because they think it’s for the best in the longer term   There is a long season ahead

Why on earth would they delay it other than because we’re about to get taken over

Why run the risk of allot some of the trialists saying they can’t wait any longer see u later

i don’t buy that it’s solely in our power the efl will be being major obstacle

    How about

                                      Roos

    Byrne            Jagielka        Wisdom        Buchanan

    Ebosele          Bird         Shinnie         Forsyth

                                     Morrison

                                        CKR

Assuming three signings, two at CB. Not convinced Davies is match fit, or indeed that we could have him and Jags together.

Ebosele for pure pace and Forsyth for defensive cover for Buchanan so they can take it in turns to attack.

Morrison given no role other than to attack. Solid but dangerous on the break.

Jozwiak and Lawrence flatter to deceive too often. No crosses, no goals.

More to the point  would U pay best part of £30 twitch that line up ? Lol

id rather go Chuck the same amount of cash at a couple of tins dulux brilliant white,  throw them on the wall and see how they set ?

As opposed to the guys who were banging them in last year?

We are talking about one fixture, not Christmas.

Ebosele has pace to frighten the opposition, especially paired with Byrne. Jozwiak runs out of puff after ten yards and runs sideways. Lawrence just runs into people and hits ridiculous shots.

Morrison has more talent than either and will be intelligent enough to support Colin, who, like last year, is our major (only) goal threat.

I’m no Lawrence fan but he came back and was heavily in anything creative fit those remaining games

Ur removing potential spark for zero spark

arguably it’s the same net result but at least show some intent to an equally poor side at home

Who the chuff is scoring our goals in that line up ?

That line up would be relegated by Xmas and have about 6 goals to show for it if we were lucky and the refs were kind

  6. Why do I just have a feeling that today is d day regarding positive news before the start of the season

in my head today is the dad I’m praying the corner flag talks to us and shows us 10 new signings flanked elon musk wanting to use Derby as his premiership vehicle to promote his Bitcoin / Tesla fantasy

Ok .. I’ll settle for just  Curtis Davies

just joking aside it feels like it has to be today .. going into next week just feels like it just won’t happen

I suspect that we're holding off signings atm, for a couple of reasons. Firstly, if we only have 4 available, it's best not to make an early signing, only for that player to get injured in a friendly or training. Secondly, if we're hoping for a softening of our embargo, it may make a difference to the players available and the contracts offered.

I totally agree with what your saying

but surely ..I mean how close to the wire do we leave it

the last comment from rob Dorsett from ssn didn’t fill me with any sort of confidence

the only thing I’m holding onto is that surely Mel wouldn’t be arranging to meet fans next week with absolutely nothing positive to appease us with

Has all the attributes to make a decent centre back, just needs to learn the position itself but has the height, pace & not bad on the ball

U haven’t watched him much there then ?

he’s not a centre back … he can do an emergency stop gap we’ve got nothing else sort of thing but we would be relegated by Xmas if he were to start the season there

    We've been rotating the 3.

    Man United: Roos, Marshall
    Salford: Marshall, Allsop
    Betis: Roos, Allsop

Allsop will be 3rd choice keeper this season once we're finally allowed to make more than 4/5 signings.

3rd choice gk ? Are we able to carry that luxury with the lack of outfield players currently?

and more to the point … if he’s 3rd choice to those two how bloody bad is he which would beg the question what’s the point lol

    Goalkeeper - good

    Fullbacks - good

CBs - good (with free agents)

    Midfield - good (with Bielik)

    Forwards - missing a goal-scorer

    Goalkeepers - good ????

    really ?

both are error prone and I’m consistent

it’s as bad a goalkeeping situation as I can remember for a while tbh

remember growing up we we’re always quite blessed in that department

mark wallington, shilton, Taylor , poom etc

I suspect the meeting is to pat the invited poodles on the head and throw them a bone or two. In the  hope they will report what a swell guy Mel is and everything will be coming up rosy soon. Last ditch attempt to get fans back through the turnstiles

    But joking aside

if we were about to go into admin even the best trained most loyal poodle would want to sink its teeth into someone that had just destroyed our club

    I don’t see it personally

    I don't get the hate?

Joined us for free, is probably leaving for free, a shot to nothing that didn't work out.

    He's a kid, I wish him well.

On that note does he count as one of the “established first teamers” I seem to think he played in that cup tie .. so if he does leave that’s a space for a signing

That was already agreed and signed off. I’m not sure how that can be disputed at all. I would imagine it’s one of the two methods of amortisation we can apply - and our interpretation of it.

I think it’s the reported 30 odd million we had sat in this reserve account that KM alluded to

meh seemed to think IF we could include we would be fine

my guess is that unsurprisingly the efl are being difficult over it
