He’s good. Which is good for us and him.

    Avoids the Temu Cech nickname.

Dare I say Warne has made some decent signings this summer with JZ, Kenzo, Ebou, Ozoh, he’s not just a pretty face eh.

Amazing what not being under an embargo or strict efl business plan can do doesnt it 😉😂

    better league obviously helps too

We look like a new team this year, totally different to watch. Is really enjoyable.

front three look good, loads of movement, skill and pace. Just need Yates to start scoring! Everything else flying

wilder looks great, Adams all action as ever!

    Roll on next week

    Yates is a delicious footballer

    lovely touch and awareness

he has a touch of the chris martins about him in that respect. But whats even better is that hes very mobile too

a frighteningly astute pick up from the club and gaffer

    who would have thought it

You're in danger of confusing patience with blind faith, there's not a straight divide between the two positions though. Some simply people need a lot more evidence than others before they're going to believe that things are going to work out.

Ignoring the idiotic / insulting stuff there have over the past 2 season been plenty of erudite posts from people expressing their in depth and evidence based concerns over Warne and what the future holds under him, and for long spells of time Warne wasn't offering up anywhere near enough for those concerns to be addressed, nor were the posters in or edging toward the blind faith territory able to offer up a similar level of debate as to exactly why such levels of patience should be shown.

That situation did even itself out and there have been some excellent and detailed justifications for continued belief in Warne - and obviously it's easier when we start winning games, no matter the performances themselves often still lacking -  but the people now are giving it the big "I told you so. We just needed to be patient" line who were just sat there shouting down people making criticisms without actually being able to counter them are no more justified in their position than anyone else.

Personaly I feel like yesterday's game could be a watershed moment, it was a performance that did infact address quite a few of my concerns but are some still lingering, and I've seen what I thought of as progress from Warne before only for it to turn out to be a false dawn.

As for the other recent 'development' on this thread - at least give @GeneralRam (who might not have see the post screenshotting him) the right of reply. That was not long after the Stevenage game and directly after we'd put in another rubbish performance in cup game against lower league opposition (there was a high scoring win against Northampton in between). Warne's attitude in his interview with Radio Derby after the Stevenage game massively got people's backs up, and rightly so. Context as always is important, especially when dredging up isolated posts from nearly a year ago.

    Agree

but for every considered well reasoned opinion theres a idiotic one too.

They just wont be so loud or prominent right now

It's nothing to do with wanting him gone, it's to do with playing football we enjoy watching and wanting Derby to win.

When you watch that game today, you see what the side are capable of and I guarantee if we played like that in half our games, Warne will be held as a god. But we don't. That's why it's so frustrating at times watching performances like Barrow when we know what we are capable of producing. It's amazing what happens when you don't play 10 men behind the ball after going 1-0 and you continue to attack.

Have u heard of the word patience?

remember last year? When in the summer se bought in a load of new players and people like myself were calling for patience because having seen a lot of football i know it takes time for players to gel, time for ideas and tactics to sink in, time for players to form on field cohesion.

well… weve had 9 players is it brought in and guess what.. while sometimes the stars do align and teams can hit the ground running

ill be calling for that magical word again if weve had an indifferent start and theres moaning from the usual quarters (not aimed at u)

I think @NottsRam77 might disagree with you about that 😉 but of course it's generally true. I would have thought that the continued support that Clowes is giving to the Academy was evidence of substantial investment in creating value. Had Administration not forced the sale of some of our most promising talent, we'd possibly already have a substantial transfer fund building from the annual £5m-ish investment. Even the realisation of resale add-ons is now boosting the club's funds. Given the apparent pool of talent we now have coming through, that investment could yield huge benefits. That is real investment. I just don't think we're likely to see Clowes being a gambler over and above what he and his family are currently funding.

    Well played sir 😂🙌

Bit harsh, I reckon. Kuqi wasn't a signing to get pulses racing, least on paper, but I thought he ended up showing he was a really good fit for the team.

Disappointing, but some reason for encouragement, some for worry.

    The good;

    - Thought goudmijn was stand out first half - raking passes and tight control.

    - We scored twice.

    - Thought Elder was fairly decent

    - That period in the 2nd half we looked good.

    - Vickers didn’t do owt wrong really

    The bad;

    - Cashin - Needs to calm down and have a word with himself; all over the shop positional wise, which led to goals.

    - Defensively in general really poor. For ozoh’s hype he didn’t cover himself in glory first half as a defensive shield, but certainly not all on him.

    - Poor application going forward first half.

    - Desperately need a new 9

    - The Blackburn subs highlight our lack of quality in depth too.

4 or 5 signings and some finding of feet and it’s not all doom and gloom though.

V fair and accurate post 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Oh and for anyone advocating we give Warne time no matter what the results are, he's been relegated from this division every time he's had a full season in it, so how long do we give him before a decision has to be made?

Some people wanted him gone after 6 games last year 🤷

xmas is the usual bench mark, call me old fashioned

As I said earlier, the difference this season is that an abject start leaves us bottom of the league with a mountain to climb, and we're not playing the likes of Cheltenham and Carlisle to do it.

We cannot afford to write off ten games hoping Warne suddenly pulls a coherent football system out of his arse.

Agree.. but its one game, our first as a team at a new level as a collective.

Totally new midfield that needs to gel and a window still open and noises from the club that theres still a lot lf business to do

Warne doesn’t know what to do with a midfield. Shocking last year when he admitted the plan is get it wide and lump it into the box because we are usually overrun in midfield. Paul that is where the game is won and lost, right there in the middle like chess.

Oooooooorrrr thats their first competitive game together … and it showed 🤷

seem to remember our midfield once he had added adams last year was a large part of our success.

give them time, the palace lad is clearly a Talent but hes a lot of learning to do

  11. Not a great deal in it tbh.

we didnt settle v well and ironically conceded once we did

theyve moved the ball well and were missing adams plugging that middle, ozoh needed to do a lot more for their goal when travis walked past him

but weve carried and threat going forward without picking the right ball or made the right decision at the end of it.

frustrating but we’re still well in this

Less than a week later we’re back, longs have been liquidated and we’re feeling bullish again

    Embrace short term volatility.

my only regret is i didnt pick up more at 51k when i bought the dip

The last five years have not been very kind to me unfortunately had a few health problems nothing serious but could have been, especially in the middle of covid.
Just glad I had plans in place to retire at 60.
I had a demanding job which I thoroughly enjoyed but once you start getting a few health problems job satisfaction goes out the window.

Its a horrible thing isnt it. Health is something u just generally take for granted while everything is ok.. but the minute it becomes compromised you realise how precious it is.

Genuinely hope you enjoy many many years of your retirement and get to live ur best life, derby getting into the premiership would help that im sure .. we can dream right.

mean it though mate, hope things work out for u, hope i can get to that point too one day 😊🐏🐏

You have no idea how stressful it is sitting out in the garden constantly planning the next day out, holiday, new local walk making sure you incorporate a quality pub or tea room stop, it’s so tiring sometimes I have to take an afternoon nap. 😀.

    Alright show off 😉😂😂

    am only insanely jealous

sadly im still very much part of the rat race lol😢

If I was trading one of my 3 helium shares I would have made 20% in 24 hrs unfortunately I am happily retired enjoying  the long summer days out in the countryside/garden doing sweet nothing until autumn then I will start trading again.

If drilling is successful in the next six weeks  it could good rocket higher than one of Musks space rockets with a bit of luck.

Trading is too stressful, the garden / countryside thing sounds way way more relaxing and a better option 🙌

would always be my choice too.
