Possibly the most unreal feeling to the start of a new season ever. Usually, for me, it's blind (and unrealistic) optimism. This year I don't know what to think. We've been written off by the bookies, been the subject of a feeding frenzy in the press, most of which contain no new news or anything we didn't already know.
For me it's the start of possibly one of the most critical and interesting seasons I've faced as a supporter of out beloved club. I go into this season thinking if we manage to stay up that will be a colossal achievement.
I'm trying to be positive. We have some good players. If we can make a decent-ish start, do add to the squad and get the best out of it, I'm optimistic we can survive.
What is for certain, this will only be helped if we support the club we love and stick together as a fan base and don't descend into infighting amongst ourselves.
And tap into the bunker mentality and prove all the naysayers wrong.
But with the best will in the world u know it’ll decend into a crescendo of boos at half time if we’re getting tonked
not unless there’s a real change in mentality
it’s us against the world now kids … strap yourselves in it ain’t going to be pretty

More than happy to wait for greater detail from Daveo but do not understand why we keep getting told from various sources, including Rooney, that signings are coming only to be told there’s still some more unknown ******** to be sorted with the EFL. Such a joke.
Has this been brought to light tonight ?
genuine question .. I’m trying to catch up on anything that’s been said -

I think he's a great player, but I don't think we'd overly miss him this year if he did go. If we have to sell to allow us to strengthen other areas then so be it. £25 mill and he is all yours Newcastle.
If the price was right I’d happily sell
reminds me over a over excited puppy dog
bags and bags of energy but messy.
sure he will improve and be a good player but just would be a good move for all conceded imo

And it's not as though signing a 53 year old Jagielka is going to have us all perched on the edge of our seats in excited anticipation.
No but In our dire situation ie: not a single recognised centre half to our name… it’s the equivalent of signing varane

I mean we aren’t just not signing players because we don’t want to are we?
I've learned I have far more important things to worry about than ‘are we going to sign x,y or z’ it’s completely out of our control and when (or if) we sign people we will…
tske the dog for a walk, read your kids a bedtime story or go down the pub for a pint.
que Sara, sara
No I agree
but that’s the point isn’t it, it’s not because we don’t want to
It’s because of financial Mis management (not for the first time in Derby county’s long history) that we can’t
and who knows , Mel and Pearce Included when we actually can
if they’re being taken on this merry dance for much longer by the efl .. that is largely self inflicted then maybe none of them know
which is a concern
I’ll have a pint see if that helps

Well, isn't best case scenario we resign Curtis Davies and maybe 45 year old Jagielka and possibly Morrison?
Excuse me if that doesn't keep me up all night!
The excitement is excreting out of me

So ….. today’s the day
signings ?
something out of the club?
something front Mel ?
I’m as nervous about today I really am
today and Thursday are pretty pivotal moments in the history of Derby county imo
going to go get a Costa to help sooth and settle the nerves lol

What time is this meeting ?
We know it’s Wednesday.. but what time ?
I need to know when to be hitting refresh like a madman to get some light on where the duck were at and try and gage what sort of future we may or may not have

Radio Derby last night said Wednesday is more likely the day the signings start with Thursday being the main day.
I missed that
did it sound like speculative guess work or relatively good authority ?

Cheers buddy appreciate that, really do
it’s nearly 3 years since he passed
i Find it hard to describe but i have millions of happy memories with him but returning to Pp ( which Iv only felt brave enough to do since a few times) is incredibly emotional for me, we we’re season ticket holders for years, lived and breathed the rams and would say being at Pp with him probably accounts for 80% of them
But I know for a fact the question of going and getting behind them on Saturday wouldn’t even be up for discussion
So it’s happening and I’m taking my game face lol
Sorry Iv gone on a bit there .. but it felt good to get it off my chest
