  1. Thoughts so far ?

am i right in thinking thats two starts two clean sheets ?

hes certainly added a bit more power to the back line.

if we can become misely at the back then despite our faltering attacking play we’ll be in with a shout

for what its worth i dont think we’ll ever be fluid attacking wise while collins leads the line

i get what he brings .. but consistent link up play and ball retension isnt his game

    No it ended 0-0

im sure we lost it having battered them for  the first 20-30 mins we absolutely murdered them and played some gorgeous football

So i Googled it to be sure .. we lost 1-0 6th aug 2022

the lincoln away one was the nail in the coffin for me … should he have had more time… dont know

i think cocu ball had destroyed my enthusiasm for tempo less football.

Clough was working under the mindset that we needed to stay in the division first, aim for promotion second, whilst decimating the budget year on year. Did a fantastic job over his time here and some of the attacking football we played at times was as good as anything served up by Mac, it’s just Mac served it up a lot more often and Clough was very very quick to revert back to defensive play whenever things got a bit tough.

Remember the year Southampton went up we were top with them after 4 straight wins at the start of the season playing excellent football. Then a tough run of games happened and he reverted back to dragging ourselves to 50 points.

Tired of the disrespect shown to our most important manager since Jim Smith.

To add to this we had just fallen out of the premierhship as a disgrace … jewell then littered our squad with a plethora of absolute dog s**** players on decent contracts who clough had to literally freeze out of the squad to try and force them out of the club and off the wage bill. He then had to replace with bargain basement and kids all under the tight measures set by the americans and their plan to make us sustainable which basically meant we were under austerity measures.
how many times did he have to name an incomplete bench that was made up largly of kids?

He steared us through and incredibly difficult time that under other managers could have ended far far worse.

im as critical as anyone for his sometimes frustratingly negative approach and trying and failing to see the game out by brining on another centre half and inviting pressure. Boro away still sticks in my head.

but if ur talking recruitment of players then in my lifetime smith and clough stand out by a distance.

honourable mentions to burley and billy… til he got us promoted

Indeed, but then Mac took those players and turned them into a couple of levels above. I think that's the point. Recruitment was a strength of the Clough era, apart from maybe picking Conor Sammon when deciding between him and Jamie Vardy - both with the same price tag.

U mean The much maligned simon clough. Who only got the job cos his brother was the gaffer

some people dont half talk s*** (not aimed at u buddy)

Before you slate me, Clough had a talented team, he was too negative, Stevie Mac turned us into an attacking outfit overnight!!!!  That's not the issue with Warne as we were camped in their half for large spells of the game, that said I was bored stiff today, just like Cloughs football.

I felt like going home at HT, I stayed obviously, the footie got worse not better, we just can not seem to brake teams down that come for a draw!

Stevie Mac part 3 anyone?  The football was never boring, it had us on the edge of our seats............

people moaned there was no plan b under mac

i know the obvious answer to that is that warne seemingly has no plan A

    people like to moan

Fair enough, I genuinely didn't realise.

I suppose if you have enough pace in the team, not having anyone up top doesn't really matter.

For the record… im not a fan of it …we used to pull everyone back under mac too

i mean ur not telling me if johnny Russell and or jamie ward were left on the halfway line theyd have to leave minimum 3 back and its not like either gave us anything defending corners … never understood it myself

The more I’ve thought about it the more I think Warburton would be a good shout if we decide to part ways with Warne.

Warburtons forest side were basically what we had under rosenior

lots of sideways and backwards passing, zero shots on goal and easy to play against

we all moaned like little bitches about rosenior warburton would get no more time or patience to implement his totally new style to what we have now and the merry go round of different managers starts again

Why don't we leave anyone up when the opposition have a corner? It seems as though we are afraid to score a goal.

Warne is massively out of his depth, massively. Stick with him and we are toast this season.

Cambridge were one of the worse teams I have seen and we couldn't beat them.

Curtis Nelson does look a decent player however.

Where have u been for the last 10 years, Nearly every manger weve had for however long does this

and most teams in the country

It's a results game and they are what count, but that doesn't alter the fact that the standard of football is poor. Against Carlisle it's enough. Against the better teams it won't be.

hes s********* his way out of this league 3 times so when done effectively it suggests it is

as horrible as it is to endure

I remember Nyambe from Blackburn so I asked a B'burn fan "Wasn't he the beast of a right fullback, who wasn't much of a footballer?"
    "Spot on", my friend answered.

Nyambe did alright though and he should have more time with the ball in League 1, so he should be a good signing.

Often u find that players that arnt footballers are more dangerous when they have more time on the ball and time to think as opposed to doing things instinctively lol

and not in a good way 😂.

darryl powell for me was the prime example of this

joking aside, in this league im fine with us being a big rough tough nasty bunch

This might be because it’s 3:30am, & I’ve watched the goals after being woken up by the stormy weather…

but do the subdued goal celebrations not sit right with anyone else? Is it always like that?

I’m not suggesting every goal should be celebrated like a cup winning goal, but the half-arsed high fives & slaps on the back just seemed… eh

Did u know it was the most meaningless competitive football match in english football and not the world cup final ?

    just checking 😉
