You lot might laugh. But he’s well thought of within the FA and already lead the youth team to European cup glory.

What had Gareth Southgate achieved in domestic football that SC hasn’t? You could argue his resume was worse before he got the England job.

When I’m referring to bigger things, that’s what I’m thinking. Heard it here first..

theres absolutely no chance hes getting that gig

dull s******** low block football, that relies on a high conversation rate of the stupidly low XG forest have.

at its best his football is structured and organised but the norm is hang on , keep ur fingers crossed and pray the opposition dont make the most of the 70-80% possession and truck tonne of opportunities that they have

So underwhelmed when I look at that line up. Not sure if it's formation, players, tactics or a combination. Totally lacks bite for me. Honestly looking at what's available I'd be going 2 up top with either Collins or Brown up with Washington.

Its a crap line up however u look at it.

the lack of attacking quality is frightening

    but thats where we are

Build the club sustainably with an eye on the future,

You know that takes time right?

hardly a patient lot are we?

i agree with your point, but the last manager that was given the time to do exactly as u say… clough, and he did still gets chastised for his spell here being dull and boring

we cant have it both ways

Building something takes time and patience which there naff all of either around here

Bad managers often make good players look like average players and average players look like terrible players. Good managers often make even average players look good (even if it's for a short burst).

Sometimes a player is a clear standout in terms of class (McGoldrick) and can almost help drag other players up to their level, but that's rare.

Continued exposure to poor management has a habit of convincing onlookers that the players are actually as bad as they look and incapable of being better.

It doesn't even have to be long term exposure - remember watching Chris Martin play under Pearson? It's like Pearson's system was specifically designed to make Martin look bad so he could justify replacing him.

I'm not suggesting Warne is doing the same thing intentionally as I don't think that's in his character, just as a by-product of his limitations.

There's no way Barkhuizen is anywhere near as bad as you make out he is, IMO.

I could be wrong, but If you look back to Chris Wilder's time at Sheffield Utd I have a feeling you could accuse him of having taken on a number of players who'd been 'rejected' by Championship clubs in a similar fashion to Barkhuizen, but he made those rejects into a team where everyone played to their maximum and they reaped the benefits.

    Fair post 👍

Players can only sign pre-contract deals in January with clubs outside of England, so I don’t know how likely it is that Barkhuizen would have signed with anyone in that particular circumstance.
Also, he may have chosen not to renew his contract, it’s a two way street, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t offered a new deal as they didn’t rate him, it could easily have been a mutual parting of the ways, both parties trying something different.

I agree with some of your views at times but think you’re doing Barkhuizen a disservice, he’s a decent enough footballer at this level.

iv seen very little to suggest hes anything but a mid table league one player

last weekend he was shocking, hes a 1 in 4 player at league one level

    thats not good enough

Championship Preston would have been offering way better wages than us and our strict efl plan .. unless he had a burning desire to play league one football lol

Sorry is that the Barkhuizen we signed on the 3rd July, 3 days after his contract ran out and 2 days after the takeover was finalised? Or a different one?

Yer the same barkhauzen who if had been any good would have been offered a new deal at preston or would have taken up one of the offers he could have signed 6 months before the end of his contract .. yer thats the one

So the tatics have been long ball for them to chase.. that is not football.

We have got players in positions where they should be getting into 1 on 1 positions

i think the problem for Collins is that he try’s to hard, wether that is coming deep for the ball or chasing down lost causes.

we need him as the CF to be in and around the penalty box

until the shackles are taken off this team won’t get results

it is though isnt it, we still have to be able to move the ball on occasions and we fail to that… its mot solely back to front … how many times do we

move the ball inside to only give it away

we do still try to play.. see our equaliser yesterday .. that was football.. but the players imo arnt anywhere good enough to execute it consistently

Re collins, U know when u try too hard at something and your still not good enough

the writing is kinda on the wall isnt it

I honestly think we have got the players that are capable to do so much better if they were played in the right positions and told to play football.

Forget this b******* about been aggressive, just play football!!!

For example.. barks and NML have bags of pace so use it,

CH further up pitch to create rather than having 100 touch’s infront of the back 4

    I dont.

barks is a poor excuse of a footballer

    theyre fast… so what?
barks was offside about 10 times in 5 minutes last weekend. He cant find a white shirt at any higher rate than one in 4

he got shown the door by a pretty below average championship side and wasnt able to find a club that were willing to pull the plug and sign him (us) til the final 2 weeks of the transfer window

    hes a terrible footballer

    ditto collins
