Anyone else finding it really frustrating that MM started this fight with the EFL, runs away from it, puts us into admin then we have the book thrown at us and the EFL can carry on with their bullying ways and we’re left to look like the bad guys hated by everyone.
He had two options for me keep fighting what he started whatever the cost, if the EFL are in the wrong let everybody see it.
Or option two should’ve held his hands up, he’s not as smart as he thought he was, take the 9 point deduction and sell the club for whatever he could.
Instead he’s royally shafted us it’s unforgivable, no matter how much he put in, his ego has ruined our club.

What is all that Reading stuff? You have always seemed steadfastly against Whataboutery. Let’s just concentrate on The Rams shall we.
To me, but I might be just old school, it does matter that we wanted to adopt an amortisation policy completely different to all other clubs in the league that we were competing against (in fact we were the only one applying a different policy amongst a membership group of 72). If we wanted to adopt such a policy we should have been more transparent and got the policy formally approved. Otherwise it is, to me at least, no more than wanting to seek some advantage.
I am sorry I will not be swayed from my view, which is very long standing on this board, that Morris and Pearce were trying to gain some spending advantage by changing the policy. It gave them the ability to spend more, although they of course spent the extra monies lamentably and we actually gained no sporting advantage. Whilst I accept your key point, and have never argued differently, that ultimately the net depreciation figures for the two methods are identical what is different is one policy allows for accelerated spending and/or (if you like) puts off reporting judgment day. Well judgment day has come today and confirms our overspending and P&S breach in the years after what has previously been audited. An overspending, and breach, which would have happened whichever amortisation policy is applied.
The EFL come out of this with little credit, but we, as a Club, have had this coming for a long time because of what I see as gaming. There is only one person to blame for that, and the fact that we are now heading back to the old 3rd Division next season. COYR!

Yearly figures would be reset in the years where losses exceed £13m in the failed periods. This would not prevent being punished for future failed periods.

So under the rules, a £4m overspend is 4 points. 15/16 and 16/17 exceed £13m so are reset to £13m for future periods.
15/16 drops off for the 2019 period, so only 16/17 reset figure is used, 17/18 and 18/19 actual figures are used.

Another £4m overspend and another 4 points. 18/19 is then reset as well for future periods.

£5m overspend this time, which also falls inside the 4 point bracket. 19/20 also reset for future periods.
The 2021 period is calculated differently. This is a 4 year period, with the 2 Covid seasons averaged.

This time we make an adjusted P&S profit and avoid any penalty.

This would match the EFL's offer of 12 points, 3 of which are suspended.

Ireland made the All Blacks look average. Never seen so many mistakes from an All Blacks team.
England have the players but im sure Eddie has lost the plot. Manu on the wing and Farrell has to play no matter what ideology!
Springboks remain the team to beat... they also remain the most awful to watch.
Wales huffing and puffing today to beat 13 Fijians... then celebrating like they have won the world cup. Embarrasing.

Blame game for me one of the main culprits is Sam Rush, he was the best paid CEO in the championship, so should have guided the club into a stable and financialy sound club, but instead correct me if i am wrong, he had a 25% interest in a players agency where the club signed 8 or more players through that agency for £4 million plus each on staggering contracts 4 or 5 years on mickey mouse wages for their limited ability, did the club make any money on those players?
Sadly Mel at the start put his trust in alleged football advicers, for me he made a error with his advicers, no excuse for how he has left the club, lets hope a final twist he donates the ground to the new owners.
Sam Rush i for one do not want him near our club again.

I wouldn’t argue with you my friend; I’d never win.
For what worth this is my additional take.  It is only since Quantumna took charge that the Club’s accounts have been brought up to date - probably only in draft format, and with amortisation reworked on a straight line method consistent with the other 71 clubs in the league. I think Morris and Pearce were still fiddle arsing around in September getting their administration ducks in line and really were not interested anymore trying to dig themselves out of the huge hole they had created. Morris indicated in his interview something like ‘mumble, £4m, mumble mumble’ as our overspend if we accepted straight line amortisation, but that figure took no account of future seasons. I can’t believe we didn’t lose a significant figure after the Frank Lampard season, and probably the season after before COVID came along to take its additional toll.
I suspect the EFL has now laid the charges on the table based on those draft figures and Quantumna have considered the best option. I highly doubt another 6 months minimum disciplinary and appeal process is going to be attractive to any potential buyer, or and secured or preferred creditor. If Kirchner, or any other buyer, wants Derby come what may, then they want a quick purchase so they can plan for the next season and a half.
I am no EFL apologist, but the pelters they are getting when this all really falls at Morris’s door still continues to amaze me. He chose to put the club into Administration not to save us point deductions, but to trigger a sale. He wanted to get out, and retain the multi-millions he still has in investments, property, etc.

OK, I agree, give it until Chrimbo and review where we are then.
Owners, points deductions and Bielik's return should be a lot clearer by then.
But I don't want us being several points adrift and splashing the cash in a forlorn attempt to stay up or even just to get as many points as possible. Or continuing to play a central defence of Davies and Jagielka - how does that benefit us in seasons to come?
Anyone remember the "worst team ever" and how we splashed the cash? That didn't work out so well.
If we look 'gone' by January, then let's start giving more experience to the likes of Ebosele, Williams, Cashin, Stretton and Watson.

It's tough to say because I think there is an argument that the system is largely working in that we are creating good chances, just not taking them. The system we've built is essentially designed so that two wide attacking players can come narrow into a whole pile of space in front of the back 4 and that the full backs can push aggressively high and wide. The main issue with this is the players that are being provided the levels of freedom to exploit aren't really making the most of it. For example Lawrence has had enough opportunities in the last 3 games that he should have at least bagged a couple goals and therein lies the issue if the system is set up to get the most out of Lawrence but he's not providing is it the right system ?
Truth be told I do think there are tweaks we can make in terms of personnel in order to get significantly more out of the system from an attacking perspective.
    Byrne -> Ebosele
The system is designed to give the fullbacks an aggressive amount of license to get forwards and so we need players there who make the most of it. This might be a controversial suggestion but I think this an area we might gain quite a significant amount from with one simple change; drop Byrne. Byrne is good at gaining half a yard on a player and floating a ball into the box but the problem with such a delivery is it's generally easy to defend, especially if you lack players good in the air. This means that a big chunk of his attacking output is just wasted possession. He doesn't really have the pace, physicality or dribbling ability to properly beat his man to get closer to the box to drill the ball in. I don't think it's a coincidence that we looked sharper in attack in the cup with Ebosele or Mcdonald playing there.
It might seem an aggressive choice but Ebosele carries significantly more threat in similar positions that will lead to a higher creation of chances as well especially as teams will have to start to compensate opening more space elsewhere.
    Shinnie -> Knight -> Bielik
Shinnie is a fan favourite but he causes a fair few issues in our ability to play out through midfield especially as it means the midfield is imbalanced because teams know he's not comfortable. Switching in Knight there gives somebody who is more comfortable on the ball so there is a better balance and somebody who's good at really driving forwards with the ball which I think you need a little of in a 4231 to help break a team's shape. With that it means we have a better chance of pulling a team out of position and therefore creating chances.
(The later switch to a fit Bielik I don't think requires explaining).
    The Front 3
This one of the elements that I think we are still striving for the right balance. Strangely to some I think it's noticeable that we miss Jozwiak when he isn't playing because he has the best linkup play and the ball sticks far better to him than that it does our other forward options. Sibley I really rate but if a defender gets touch tight to him he's a little easy to bump off the ball right now. Lawrence can score from nowhere but can also be pretty wasteful. Baldock has good movement but his finishing is lacking. Stretton I like the look of and wouldn't mind getting a run but it's hard to say for sure whether it will click.
Personally I think our attack looked the most fluid and dangerous against Forest and I think that's where I'd probably start with option of bringing on Stretton.

"Two of the six potential buyers are "substantial entities" who were previously in touch with Morris, who had been looking to sell the club since 2019, with four new interested parties.
The six are understood to include former Derby County owner Andy Appleby and chief executive Sam Rush, who are both part of the 366 Group"
