If either, or both can be fit in the next few weeks, then people will probably look back at it differently and call it a success. We’ve strengthened a few areas that needed it, but left ourselves with only one for striker. If Wash or wags aren’t back in the next week or so, then we’re ultimately up poo creek without a paddle. For me: Pros - Cash signing a new deal - Nyambe signing a new deal - CBT signing - Adams signing Negatives - Bird leaving (not a fan of this loan back should have just parted company) - No striker, now we wait for injured players. Or is it too early to use cognitive skills and take a bit of perspective? Yes, we are 2-3 weeks without a back-up striker, and it's hardly optimal. But our midfield is stronger than in December and we managed to sign one of the most effective winger/forwards in the league so wingers improved massively. It's risky but hardly a worth meltdown as you lot seem to think. Quality, not quantity is often phrased here, but now that opinion seems to be forgotten. This squad has been capable of having a great winning streak and with the help of CBT, it is possible to repeat. Obviously, you can stay butthurt whole weekend if that suits your plans. Here we are in need of a forward and Brown has played a grand total of 13 minutes in L1 and is now out on loan. Korey Smith, Hourihane, Collins, Barkhuizen, Sibley are all likely to leave this summer, and what have we seen of Weston, D Robinson, Fapetu, Lindsay, Cruz Allen, etc.? It's great that Cashin has signed a new deal but a big offer would take him out, Bradley is 32 and obviously not up to it, Elder & Ward have struggled. Maybe Bartley, Radcliffe, Cox, or Bardell could step up and follow in Cashin's footsteps. Maybe we'll never find out if these lads are good enough. It's so bloody short-sighted! If he's prioritising promotion over youth progression then I'm not going to criticise his recruitment patterns if it ends up in achieving this goal- which it still may. Why do you think Clowes is still spending millions to fund the academy? No one other than the manager can make the decision on playing our academy players or not.
