Think he took them down from the championship in his first season.  Not a full season with him mind.

They managed to stay up without him. So he's no great shakes is he. All this yo-yoing is vaguely acceptable when it's Prem to Championship, or if you are Rotherham. But he has shown no sign of being a good long-term manager for this club. I wonder when the 'established in the Championship' aims will fade.

So PW contradicts himself then. If they are the facts, why hasn’t he introduced the young ones?

I’m sorry but try and defend that one.

Its pretty pointless trying to offer any sort of defence anymore because the goalposts are just constantly moving.

We've gone from...

We are a big team, we shouldn't be losing to......

to

Ok we are winning but we should be having more possession

to

Ok we are winning but he should be playing Sibley more

to

Ok he has given Sibley a run but he should be playing the academy players

Its clear that whatever happens from here on in, that some posters have made their mind up on Warne and will use absolutely anything to criticise him.

In the interest of balance, they only just stayed up last season.  They averaged 1.5 points per game under Warne and then just under 1 point per game under Matt Taylor, who’s now been sacked.  Without the good start under Warne, they probably would have gone down last season.

Imagine how Warne would have done with us last season without the good start (and squad) from Rosenior. 😉

No one is happy with those defeats but they are irrelevant to this particular conversation started by the statement "....he struggles to get his team into a healthy lead".  3:0, 4:1 and 4:0 are all examples of a healthy lead.

Can we count the game against Wolves U 12’s 😉

Is Paul even a 'League One expert'? He's only proven as an expert in getting Rotherham (a club he spent 19 out of 23 years at prior to joining us) promoted from the division.

In the interest of balance, 3 seasons as manner in League 1 and promoted in each of them.  Unfair to include those as player, coach or whatever as he’s not been in those roles with us.

You are correct. He was appointed interim to the end of that season. Once relegated in the April he was given the job on a permanent 12 month rolling contract.

That would be Rosenior’s 1.56 points per game v Warne’s 1.68 😉.

Yeah.

TBH this is just distraction from the main points of Warne's tenure. We play horrible football - watching Notts County atm, Didzy just scored, they look everything we're not. And there seems very little forward planning, with little appreciation of a Cat1 academy.

Our academy has produced virtually nothing of note in the last 20 years.

Why are you so keen for our manager to suddenly start using it?

If players are good enough, they will get a look in.

The point I was making was him only winning promotion with 1 team, with an already established style of play, and all the players used to playing that way.

As far asi can see we could win every league game between now and end of season 10 nil and certain posters would still moan. no names given. I’m sure David clowes feels same it’s your opinions it’s a free country. but when someone gives an alternative take on it try to listen to the facts. open minds are needed
