Poor performance overall, too many players off it. Not sure we can just put it down to tactics though, tactics dont prevent a player from putting a foot in, making runs or putting a cross in. I dont think 1 cross has gone in from Barkhuizen or Sibley in open play.

You're not going to get crosses from inverted wingers though.  And even on their strong feet, Barkhuizen and Sibley aren't exactly traditional "hit the byline and cross it" types.

Barkhuizen always plays left for us & been able to get plenty of crosses off.

The wingers worked in the last game, just not today

PW picks pretty much the same team as wanted by the armchair managers. And they are still whining.

Once they are on the pitch it is out of his hands till half time.

The Shrews are playing better than their league position shows.

The pitch has been narrowed to help them stop the runs down the side restricting crosses. Only 2 in the first half.

We need to play quicker and need someone on to control the centre of the pitch.

Yeah, us armchair managers have been screaming at Paul to shove Sibley out wide and continue to just cross it into the box and play for set pieces. Glad he listened

The idea of inverted wingers is usually to cut inside and shoot. Barks has done that twice, sibs hasn't but he did put in a great cross on his weaker foot.

I'd like to see Waggy as a 10 to pick up the ball and give it to the wide men to get their chance to cut in and attack the goal. If not that, we might as well have them swap wings to get crosses in with their stronger foot.

Edit - looks like they have swapped wings.

The 11 starters have been available the last two weeks to train and work on this match as they weren’t away for the internationals. What the F did they work on?

I was just about to ask the same question - we are just poor I suppose and our main hope is how poor the opposition are in terms of winning football game points

Exactly. If you start Collins, you need "proper" wingers.  If you start Waghorn, you can afford to have players cutting in and running off him.  It's simple, simple stuff.
