Genuinely,  yes.

I think other than Mac, and before then the Bald Eagle,  its no worse than what's been served up for 40years.

If you are saying this seriously then I'm not sure what you see and what you look for. George Burley got us playing some good football and even Billy Davies offered better than Warne.

Most of our managers have managed spells of good football, even Warne last season had a spell where the season should have ended because we were too good for everyone else 😉. I didn't see any of Brown's games (insert fiesta gif) but him and Jewell probably didn't have even one spell of good football in one game. If Warne can conjure up that form again, and maintain it (no injuries to key players, reinforce at the right time), then we could easily achieve automatics. But, (yes I know, you should never start a sentence with but), please Paul, let's play our bloody game and not counter everyone else's!

But there is no rule to say you can’t start a sentence with a conjunction 😉

To be fair to Paul Warne, this is exactly the type of game we usually screw up, so maybe he's starting to get what it means to be Derby manager.

That's actually a very good point.

I lost count of how many were predicting this last Friday!  It was as if destiny was already forged, what with all the "It would be soooo Derby..." posts!

Perhaps we should be pointing the pitchforks at The Gypsies, not Warne!  🤣

Those curses are so hard to shift. Have they tried getting hiring the carpet shampoo machine from asda?

My thoughts

I can't see Warne getting us promoted this year.

The football is pretty dire to watch.

Home performances are bad.

The players that have been signed don't look to have improved us.

The team from this time last year was better than now.

There have been some crucial injuries.

We have too many old players that flatter to deceive.

I think we have a team with no balance.

We have a team with no credible scoring threat

Our top scorer was signed as a fluke because he came along to a mates testimonial

Can Warne improve what we have got? I'm not sure he can. He has had a while to influence the team and we should be seeing improvements. This is league 1 not the premier league. Not saying that these things can't take time but i'm not seeing any improvement in the side.

I am very reluctant to say a manager should go as that can cause more problems but I don't really want to spend another season in league 1.

I think give Warne until December. If we see improved performances and we are in with a fighting chance of play offs then he stays but if performances remain as they are and play-offs are looking out of reach then he should go to give a new manager time to sign new players and possibly make a fist of getting in the play offs.

Not to sound arrogant but we really shouldn't be in the position we are.

Agree with most of that but I would be surprised if Warne was sacked this season 🤔

I would be, but I think there is more pressure on Warne than we believe.

Appointed in part, or mainly, due to his record of promotions from this league. The fan base have been told the budget is good enough to get the team promoted. What should expectations be based on that?

So, we have a manager who has the reputation of being a promotion specialist in this league, with a budget that will enable him to do the job. In his own words he failed last season.  If Warne doesn't believe his squad is stronger than last season, then he has cocked up his transfer window. I also feel his interviews have changed of late, more short and sarcastic, I thought he was a great listen when he first joined.

I don't really believe he has any excuses for missing out this season. I think we might be ok, more based on the stength of individuals rather than the tactical/coaching skills of the manager. I hope we start to see better performances, it would give the belief that the right thing is to stick long term.  Christmas is the first point at which we can get a real sense of where things are heading.
