Are we going to go through this all over again in 10 years, when Newcastle have become club world champions for the third time. And will Newcastle fans care either way if that’s the outcome.

it’s crazy that on the one hand we’re denouncing this, while simultaneously allowing it to carry on.

the premier league, the government, whoever, can’t have it both ways. You either care where the money comes from, or you don’t.

We're not only allowing it to happen, we're begging for it to happen to us! All we need is a rich investor...

This will please Stevie boy ?

On the one hand it's a ludicrous request, seeking to pass the burden of their own restrictions onto a party that hasn't contributed to their situation. It's especially hypocritical, as it's from a team that briefly benefitted from a limited home fan presence with no away fans last season during the lockdown. They weren't complaining then.
On the other hand, it's Boro.

I'm torn.

Meh, if it goes through it may be a bit of karma for Boro’s meddling with us…’whose club have got no part of this whole saga whatsoever’

It would be outrageous to ban the Boro fans from this match.

Sorry, typo, hilarious.

As for Chelsea fans? Lol. Campaign for new ownership and peace in Ukraine and disavow Putin's oligarchs. Like, not chanting his name for a start.

And also remember the club Chelsea were before the roubles rocked up. A London version of Everton (at best) without the redeeming features.

and none of us would care where the money came from, to be fair.

it’s very sad that the days of a football club being owned by a local business man are over. Could Sam Longson or Lionel Pickering even afford to buy a football club these days?

Any port in a storm as the saying goes.

Ethically perfect Megabucks aren't really a thing in football these days.

What’s sad is that the way football is going (actually very much due to abramovic) only the mega rich can afford to buy a football club. And there are very few mega rich people who didn’t get there doing something dodgy.

The PL and FA are now very sensitive to this. Means the next Chelsea owner is likely to be American or called Candy. And will certainly not be Russian or Chinese

What kind of coffee are chelsea football club drinking? - that has to be the most ridiculous request ever

kind of funny that it is Middlesbrough as well

And now oh dear they’ve landed the most profitable away game an English club can get - Real Madrid, away, champions league - and they can’t sell any tickets ?
