Two, very good managers out of work at the minute in Howe and Hughton.

whatever club is lucky enough to snap them up will do well.

i reckon Howe would be a good fit for Bristol City, would take them to that next level that Johnson just couldn’t seem to do. Reckon he would have them up in a season, 2 max

Agree with all that just think it would be interesting to see Howe at a bigger Prem club like a west Ham, Newcastle etc. Both might suit Palace which is arguably not a big step up for Howe.

Probably will do him good to take a sabbatical and recharge his batteries while awaiting his next opportunity, his stock could only sink lower if Bournemouth tank next season, and probably wouldn't get higher if they succeed.

He’s taken your advice

Will be a test for him outside the comfort of Bournemouth.

Would be interesting to see him at a big club abroad. There are some huge clubs in Spain and Italy in particular that could be reignited and really up his stock in 3 years for a chance to step back into English football at one of the big 4 or 5.

He is above Newcastle and west ham imho. Imagine him going to italy and winning something with a club like Roma for example. Italian cup followed by a Europa league then slide in nicely at spurs when Jose eventually ducks it up......

I'm glad I'm not the only one on here who takes Sunday drinking seriously.

He's shown nothing in the Prem to suggest Newcastle and West Ham are below his station, in fact if you take his signings since promotion into account they look a perfect fit, the odd jem amongst a load of over priced averageness would be a kind reflection of his talent spotting ability.

I see little in him to suggest he'd make any more of a success of any European faded giant than Pardew, Big Sam or even Alan Curbishley.

I could see him restarting his career abroad, but it would be somewhere like FC Twente, a la Stevie Mac, where expectations are lower and he'd get time to build, maybe even Celtic if Lennon gets off to a bad start.

He wouldn't even be on the shortlist for something like the Roma job, imo.

Is he really that good?

He spent a lot of money building a relegation side over 5 years....

£80m in 2019 on groeneveld, billing, Stacey, kelly, mepham, and solanke

£50m in 2018 on Lerma, Rico and brooks

£35m in 2017 on ake, and begovic

£60m in 2016 on smith, Ibe, cook, mousset, grabban and afobe

£30m in 2015 on Murray, mings, gradel, and tomlin

Celtic would be absolutely perfect for him to rebuild his stock. Back to back trebles would set him up nicely for a top Premier League job.

Taking on a Newcastle or West Ham straight after relegation with Bournemouth could kill any hope of landing one of the big jobs, they are horrendous jobs which are reserved for the dinosaur musical chairs.

People talking about Howe like he's good? Remember when he flopped at Burnley and got homesick so asked if he could go back to Bournemouth? His signings are terrible as well for the money spent. One of the most overrated managers, he's OK but people here talking like he's going to win something are nuts IMO.

This

That’s not even the full list of his duds

His signings are shocking

Even Callum Wilson was only signed because Tokelo Rantie was such a dud from the season before

He took Bournemouth from the brink of non-league to surviving in the Premier League for four years and you don't even consider him 'good'? Arthur Cox did similar with us (started a league higher but had one incredible season in the First Division amongst the relegation battles) and he's rightly considered a Derby legend.

Trouble is, he has shown very little to get him into higher jobs. What has he shown at Bournemouth that would tempt Everton, for example?

He took a L2 club into the Premier League, which is an excellent achievement no matter what he spent. But how does that help Everton, or West Ham, or Newcastle, or any middling Premier League club who are looking to take the next step and fight for European places.

It probably won’t stop him being linked with those jobs when they come up though, and probably won’t stop some stupid owner from hiring him to do a job he’s shown no signs of ever being able to do.

Agreed, did a good job, not as great as people make out.  Yes he had them playing some decent football at times, and got some eye catching results here & there, but once he couldn't out score sides, they couldn't get results cus the defence needed a lot of work

£19m on Solanke says it all.  Paid way over the odds for so many average players.  Plus I think he stuck with the players that took them up for far too long.  The likes of Adam Smith, Dan Gosling & Simon Francis will only take you so far.

Think Jose will have ducked it up long before Eddie wins anything anywhere

He had a billionaire owner and they broke FFP to get promoted. He's just an OK manager, without advantages I doubt he'd ever achieve anything.
