It's that time of the year at Derby County where the rumours start. ?‍♂️

Funny thing is, I am sure there was an article only the other day where Wassall commented on Cocu being the most interested in the academy of all the managers at the club...

Let the rumours flow. I heard Mac was signing for Newcastle...wait...

"The worse manager I've worked with" - from an inside source who's been at the club for years (including the Pearson stint)

Not sure if he was talking about tactics, coaching ability, man management, deodorant, but I don't think he's liked very much inside the club.

Tosh.

This is getting ridiculous.

This forum cheers me up with its humour and common interest of supporting the Rams.

I'm fine with constructive criticism. As much as I support Cocu - see my other posts - I think some of the criticism is fair and I think he's made some mistakes.

But posts like this just make me so depressed. Maybe someone at the club did say something but, sheesh, maybe they had an axe to grind. But, in any case, it's unsubstantiated tickle tackle that is meaningless and far from constructive.

Sorry. Go back to your source and get more details or try thinking about the long term plan under Cocu. It will all come good.

One of the After 8 club maybe? I doubt we've ever had a manager that every single player thought was wonderful. You are always gonna get players that aren't happy because they are not in the team/ match day squad.

Gotta pull you up here. ‘Tickle Tackle’ is that the right saying? I thought it was tittle tattle? Might be wrong, might be northern thing.
Good post by the way.

Yes you’re correct @Angry Ram; it is “tittle tattle”.

word

tittle-tattle

/ˈtɪt(ə)ltat(ə)l/

noun

casual conversation about other people, typically involving details that are not confirmed as true; gossip.

"she would never listen to tittle-tattle about another girl". Whereas  I think “tickle tackle” is a pornographic verb.

Tickle tackle has a whole other meaning.

Imagine starting rumours hahaahah deary me.

Cocu's here to stay so lets get behind him,

We're Derby County for goodness sake, when we was gettin smashed by Millwall for example under Lampard there wa hardly any Lampard out or whatever.

Just bcos he's not frank lampard don't mean he should be critisised a lot more.

We aren't being carried by top half prem players this season so gerrover it.

Let the gaffer bring in some quality... We'll be smashin em top bins every game.

Does anyone else think this is about where I thought the team would be at this stage of the season? Mid-table, not going to be challenging for promotion but certainly not poor enough to be relegated either.

What other manager's can we realistically employ who's better qualified, taking into consideration Cocu's compo if we sacked him? Simple answer, no-one.

The drinky-drinky vroom-vroom incident did affect us. I thought we would be higher, but injury woes hit us hard. I hoped to be chasing promotion early. But we lost drive, lost form, and maybe focus.

The championship is getting tougher and tougher every season. With stronger clubs going for promotion. Its getting tougher to maintain squad, performances. It wouldnt suprise me if we went off the boil. Then came back stronger. We can only do that with dedicated staff. The investment on cocu. Is the start of a beautiful relationship. I was getting sick of hokey cokey managers. We ve had a new manager every 10minutes. Thats not good. Loosing good players is a consequence. Relying on loanees is not good either.

Cocu got dealt a doozzy, and derbys unproffesionalism shone through. Through the UKs most challenging debacle in decades. Derby still made front page news!

Now, hoping its just a blip, in what could be the start of solidifying the team. Getting in quality players or value players.

The Rooney thing may be a blessing. Time will tell.

We had a perfectly good one disallowed on Saturday (although I appreciate that would still leave us with a grand total of one).

Not a surprise - is there a similar analysis of headed goals conceded? Bet we're near the top of that one.......

Here's the state of things:

We play Boro next. They've been absolutely awful this season and don't look like going anywhere fast. A team we should absolutely be beating, just like Barnsley. 3 points here is a crucial.

We then face Forest. Getting pasted by them again would be awful. I know they've looked dodgy lately (especially against Hull) but considering the way we've played this season, this game could go really badly for us if we're not smart. This fixture has also been the death knell for a lot of Derby manager's in the past.

Then we've got the international break. Probably the only time you could get rid of a manager if you want to guarantee somebody new is at the helm for 2020.

I guess what I'm getting at here is that I think the next two games are going to be massive for Phillip Cocu. I am 100% behind him and thoroughly believe we need the back him and give him time, but two bad defeats, and bad performances, is going to leave Mel in a very difficult situation. We've sacked for a lot less.

Nnooooooooo!!!

And that's from a "PC fan".

Please let's stop that nonsense talk. Please let's look at the bigger picture, the hand that Cocu was dealt. Support him. Understand the issues, the circumstances. And give the guy the chance to build something big, sustainable and longer term than a couple of wins against Boro and the other lot.

Sheesh.

COYR ?
