If you like poor acting, bullpoo bravado, historical inaccuracy and rampant anti-English sentiments then I'd heartily recommend it. I was really looking forward to seeing this, but you're dead right about the acting. I thought that Austin Butler was excellent as Elvis, but here he's just doesn't shine. He's still one of the most convincing however. It also seems very anti-English at the moment, but perhaps we'll come riding in like the 5th Cavalry later on to save the American bombers and we'll all be best friends. In actual history, they mount terrible losses until they get long range fighters to escort them. Many of them realise it's suicidal without escorts but the 'bravado' meant they carried on. They were barely any more accurate than night bombers, as having a better view of the target is countered by the Germans being able to see them. A couple of interesting facts are they shot loads of their own planes down in formation friendly fire and they shot more fighters down than they destroyed/stopped by bombing airfields and aircraft production. richinspain 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

More natural, better pacing, better characters etc. Season 3 of Love/Hate is brilliant, better than the first two. And 4 maintained that. Just started the final one last night. I found some of the moody shots/scenes a bit irritating with Kin too. Especially the ones with Clare Dunne staring off into space. It's a weird mix of Saturday teatime styling and simplistic plotlines, combined with adult topics like whores throats being slashed, hangings, STDs and more. Not sure who it's supposed to appeal to. Rev Posted January 30 Share Posted January 30 Sexy Beast, Paramount. Prequel to the film, I'd say you need to have watched the film prior to understand the series. Started off a typical Cockney crime caper, soon turns a lot darker and dangerous, and ties into the film nicely. Well worth a watch based on the 3 episodes released so far.
