Ah class Bob , glad you got into it ! Nidge could`ve made it in politics [or football] in an alternative life , he`s completely amoral , up there with Tony Soprano and Stringer Bell , the character of Pauley who comes over from Spain is based on Daniel Kinahan , who`s in the news plenty , not for very wholesome reasons !

Nidge is one of those characters that you love and hate at the same time (maybe that's why they called it that because nothing else makes sense). H'e very charismatic in an unconventional kinda way.

I've never paid for ITVX before, but we started just to watch this and are happy to have done so. I thought, for reasons you will understand, Season 4 would drop off, but it really hasn't.

Might want to check out Cardbaord Gangsters if you've not seen it, Bob. I think it'd be right up your street. It's quite a harrowing watch, but it's one of the better depictions of the Dublin drug scene, though not terribly cheery! It's another film that is much better than it's IMDB rating IMO.

I've just finished Kin last night. Well, the first season anyway.

What service are you watching Love/Hate on?

What did you think?

just finished binge watching both series. It was good but not great IMO. Well made and acted but didn't bring anything new or extra to the tabe.

Also watched the first 2 episodes of Masters of the Air, from the team that made Band of Brothers and The Pacific, which were great and good respectively.

If you like poor acting, bullpoo bravado, historical inaccuracy and rampant anti-English sentiments then I'd heartily recommend it.

I was really looking forward to seeing this, but you're dead right about the acting. I thought that Austin Butler was excellent as Elvis, but here he's just doesn't shine. He's still one of the most convincing however. It also seems very anti-English at the moment, but perhaps we'll come riding in like the 5th Cavalry later on to save the American bombers and we'll all be best friends.

In actual history, they mount terrible losses until they get long range fighters to escort them. Many of them realise it's suicidal without escorts but the 'bravado' meant they carried on. They were barely any more accurate than night bombers, as having a better view of the target is countered by the Germans being able to see them.

A couple of interesting facts are they shot loads of their own planes down in formation friendly fire and they shot more fighters down than they destroyed/stopped by bombing airfields and aircraft production.

I enjoyed Kin, but I've only seen the first season. It tried too hard to be mean and moody sort of thing. The conversations were slow, with all those pauses. I've never met anyone who speaks like that.

I'm half way through season two of Love/Hate, and for me, it's way better than Kin. More natural, better pacing, better characters etc.

Series two of Kin introduces Bren, the character visited in prison in series one.

He’s off the scale bonkers!

Love/Hate is good but at times feels a little fleeting and hurried.

Both good though.

Season 3 of Love/Hate is brilliant, better than the first two. And 4 maintained that. Just started the final one last night.

I found some of the moody shots/scenes a bit irritating with Kin too. Especially the ones with Clare Dunne staring off into space. Having said that not enough to taint it, and I still thought it was brilliant.

I thought I would give The Artful Dodger a go after reading several good reviews.

Save yourselves the trouble.

It's a weird mix of Saturday teatime styling and simplistic plotlines, combined with adult topics like whores throats being slashed, hangings, STDs and more.

Not sure who it's supposed to appeal to. Bridgerton fans maybe?

Clearly not me.

Yeah, that sort of nonsense would not appeal to a more mature and discerning viewer like myself.

Sexy Beast, Paramount.

Prequel to the film, I'd say you need to have watched the film prior to understand the series.

Started off a typical Cockney crime caper, soon turns a lot darker and dangerous, and ties into the film nicely.

Well worth a watch based on the 3 episodes released so far.

Jack Marriott vs Leeds/10, a come from behind specialist.
