Random stuff that people do that annoy me

People on planes who hear the announcement that's says 'remain seated until the seatbelt sign is switched off' then immediately you hear the click of them taking off their seat belts. Then as soon as the sign does go off they're on their feet grabbing stuff from the overhead lockers, hitting you on the head with it, then stand at some cocky angle trying to push into a queue to get off that's going nowhere

This.

I usually stay in my seat and just check my phone while I wait for everyone to clear out; no better feeling than being able to stand up and walk down the aisle with all the open space you could want!

On the odd occasion I happen to stand up early and join the line of people going nowhere, two things always happen that also drive me crazy:

- The person behind me in said queue always stands way too close. I mean even if you're impatient or in a hurry it's sure as hell not going make the line move any faster by inching up behind the person standing in front of you!

 - Predictably as a result of standing too close, when I start walking down the aisle, they keep "accidentally" banging their foot into the back of my carry-on

Happens every single time.

A bloke shot out of his seat when he thought the sign was going to go out, as the plane had been stationary for about 20 secs, as he stood the plane lunged forward and he fell breaking his wrist.  This delayed people getting off the plane, and as I walked by him, he was being treated in the airbridge, he was moaning about suing the airline.

At this point I was annoyed as I was catching a connecting flight, so I walked over and asked him for his details, he looked up, confused, and asked why.  I simply said I was going to sue him for being an idiot and delaying 200 odd passengers, a few cheers and a red faced idiot that immediatly shut his mouth.

My last flight home was delayed because on Jet2 you have to pay to select your seats and one bloke was kicking up a stink because he hadn't paid and he wasn't seated next to his son who looked about 12. 'He won't fly, I tell you he won't, I'll just stand here until you sort it out' 30 minutes later he got his own way when someone finally moved away from their family to allow them to sit together. We missed our slot time and he just sat there looking smug. Absolute tosser!

Having worked for an Interntional Airline and flown a lot of miles, people that cause a delay like that should be escorted off the plane.

Jet2 make it quite clear, if you want to seat together, then you have to pay a fee to do it, tossers like him should have his passport revoked.

Couldn't agree more. The flight attendants stayed calm, polite and smiley. If I were them I'd have asked him to step into the back and through gritted teeth would have said 'listen, just shut up, sit down and tell your kid to do the same or get off the plane'

Sith Happens

So many ways on a flight to get annoyed.

1. Recliners....I havent got much room as it is without you taking up some of it too.

2. Seat grabbers....people who when walking through the plane seem to grab hold of every seat as they go making the seat back bounce around, and me.

3. People taking a dump in the toilet....they are bad enough anyway without having to put up with your stink too.

4. People who takes aged to put their bag in the overhead and sitdown...can't you get out what you need before we get on, or after takeoff?

5. Same as above but at security...what takes so long, and follow instructions please, on my most recent flight my bag was selected for a random drugs swab..but I had to wait about 10 minutes because three other travellers bags before me pulled too because they didn't remove liquids... Its not like they didn't tell you about 30 times during the queue.

OK I'm on my TV news rant again but last night on BBC news, the story about the kids missing in Wales was "More than 20 children have gone missing in Wales". There were 26 kids. That was a fact.

Why do they have to say "more than 20" when everyone knew the number was 26. It's not even quicker to say.

Why pretend you don't know how many there are?

That's similar to them always saying "so-called Islamic State". If that's what they call themselves, that's what they are. Or do we all support "so-called Derby County"?

Good news. They've found less than 30 but more than 20

parents of under 11's that are the same size as they are tall. No they are not big boned, you are a bad parent and every tome the kid has a strop you shove food at it.

There is a massive problem in the UK caused by overeating, and when it starts so young its very hard for that child to not be overweight or obese later in life. The problem I have found is when you dare to mention it someone jumps up and down saying its genetics.

I have no doubt a small proportion of people have genetic issues with causes it. The cost to the NHS each year is reported to he £5billion as a result of weight related issues, this is only going to get worse, yet the £250 million set aside for the cancer drugs fund is in danger of being pulled, which could mean cancer patients unable to get drugs which could extend life.

My step daughter's a qualified nurse and has been banging on for years that obesity is a ticking time-bomb, and will bring the NHS to its knees.

On another note, I find it hard to relate the 'Today's children will have a like expectancy of 100' experts with 'We have a problem with child obesity which will give them major health problems in later life' experts.

Sounds contradictory because they're not describing it as we're used to.

We're used to "average" life expectancy, which factors in the mass of unhealthy people within the category being measured.

They're saying life expectancy of people who live healthily (who are children now) is 100, so not including the obese.

In reality it means the average life expectancy is probably increasing by a few years, because very few people live by the standard of "healthy" they're most likely measuring to, but that sounds a lot less impressive than 100, even if only a minority will get there.

Does that make sense? I've re-written a lot of what I've said a couple of times and can't tell any more.
