Nottingham Forest are embroiled in a legal row with former owner Fawaz Al Hasawi over unpaid money.

Al Hasawi, the Kuwaiti businessman whose turbulent reign ended last May, was sued by Forest in December over money the Championship club claim they are owed.

But Al-Hasawi has issued a counter-claim insisting he is due a payment of around £4.2m in unsecured interest free loans. Sources close to Al Hasawi have claimed that the Football League have been contacted for assistance.

How/why would Fawaz owe Forest money when he sold the club?

Calling in money he "lent" the club that wasn't accounted for in the takeover at a guess.

But really we know what's going on.

They'll end up in bed full of passionate "oh i've missed you, that thing you do with you accounting and hiring billy davies twice...get in meh"

Aaand jump off The Cardiff bandwagon accusing us of being cheats...

EFL should never have let him anywhere near a British club.

Anyone follow Swiss Ramble on twitter?

They posted an in depth look at Forest finances yesterday, stripping out all the one off accounting adjustments and comparing them with the rest of the league.

It showed how parachute payments totally skews the championship where the gap in revenue between relegated clubs and the rest is circa £35m.
