Should Pearson be shown the door?

When Leicester finished 9th and 6th under Pearson were they not good enough and would it have been justified to sack Pearson, change the formation, and sell the top scorer?

When Middlesbrough finished 12th and 4th under Karanka were they not good enough and would it have been justified to sack Karanka, change the formation, and sell the top scorer?

It took 3 seasons for Karanka you rebuild boro, finishing 12th and 4th in seasons 1 and 2, would it have been justified to sack him? Yes, possibly but he was there to rebuild the team they gave him time to do it.

Now if they had sacked him season 1 - no doubt they would still be playing in the championship right now instead of sitting 13th in the prem.

This does prove you have to give your manager time, if he's to succeed.

Boro finished 16th the season before they hired Karanka, we finished 6th last season. He took them over midseason and had a positive impact, we had a preseason and have had a negative impact. What a terrible comparison.

It doesn't prove that sticking with a consistently successful philosophy will eventually lead to promotion then?

I'll guarantee you that if Middlesbrough had sacked Karanka after finishing 4th and brought in a new manager who insisted on completely changing the way they played and sold Grant Leadbitter they would still be in the Championship now and nowhere near the top of the table.

Also, Pearson clearly stated that promotion was the aim this season, he mentioned nothing about a long term rebuild.

I still don't think we needed that though... Feels like we're taking apart a 90% functioning team which needed kicking on... And instead we're going back to scratch...

Still proves you have to give your new coach time.

Can't believe there is another thread on this. Pearson needs some time to rebuild, be patient, changing Managers every 5 minutes rarely works, as has been said time and time before. Christmas will give us all more of an idea of how the land lies. Let's get behind Pearson and the team.....

No manager should be sacked after 7 games, we would be hiring mangers all the time, he needs at least 18 months in the job, to see how good or bad appointment he has been, I am sure given a sensible amount of time, he will build a team capable of promotion. Jim Smith did not start the season great, but he turned out to be a very good manager for the Rams, patience is required.

Yet you deemed about 80 minutes long enough for Wassall to prove himself to you...

Can you not understand that Wassall was only temporary in charge till May.

It's not that difficult!

You really need to move on.

I think Wassall just pandered to the click. Hence giving RK the armband and returning to how the players wanted to play. Ultimately it failed because the side isn't good enough.

Hopefully NP will clear out the click (Martin being the start) and will build a side that gives everything, and has ability.

Is whether NP will get the time, or has the nouse to do it.

We lost a cup game, when the league performances need improving,.Players in the squad given a chance to show their capability's,experience needed to turn things around, and gloom n doom, put on a back burner.,

Players on our books -----Clough--Forsyth-Keogh--Bryson--Russell-Hughes-

Sam Rush with the development team---with McClaren--Cristie--Thorne-

Sam Rush with the development team---with Clement  --Carson--Olsen--Shackell-Butterfield-Johnson-Ince-Bent-Weiman-Camara-Blackman Pearce---None of these signed by Pearson,in total 13 million income  -14 million expenditure,.

Two out two in,none of his buys played last night,  The guy is not for panicking, and giving the players a opportunity with

Derby, ,30 million spent, most players on ,very lucrative contracts, So development on the playing side will be difficult .

Pearson will walk away from the club in 2019 if we remain in the championship.

And Mel will be a lot wiser, and we will move forward

Pearson might only be in temporary charge until Xmas at this rate.

I've moved on, just pointing out how hypocritical some of you are.

I notice you failed to answer the points I raised about your moving of the goalposts.

Actually it failed because he played some of Clements signings in the first leg against Hull. When Wassall played McClarens team in the 2nd leg we absolutely pasted Hull and looked an infinitely better side. That side was good enough, Clements transfers are ultimately the weak links in our squad.

Why didn't he start clearing the click (sic) sooner then?!

Right now the teams showing no signs of improvement, and Pearson seems to refuse to budge from his failing 442 to a system that fits Our players and that, combined with our slow ponderous long ball play and seeming lack of desire means imo that Pearsons time is running out, the next couple of weeks present some very winnable games- if he fails to ressurect our form in these games imo he should go and we should bring someone in more suited to our footballing philosophy
