G STAR RAM
Very sad news. WhenI first started watching Derby one of the things I remember vividly was Gordon sprinting on to the pitch and always beating the opposing physio to injured players! At a time when Queens honours are handed out to nobodies for doing absolutely nothing, how was he not awarded anything for services to sport? An absolute scandal. Stripperg-ram
A truly great servant of our club. I always remember fondly, Graham Richards and Ian Hall describing him running on with the magic sponge as his bald head 'glinted' under the floodlights, in their commentary in the 80's and 90's. RIP. ramsbottom
"When a player goes down from a vicious lunge, on comes Gordon with his magic sponge". Really, really gutted to hear about this great man's passing. Kids sling the word legend around all too freely these days, Shaun Barker isn't a legend, Jake Buxton isn't a legend, your mate Stevie isn't a legend for downing 2 WKD's in 30 mins. Gordon Guthrie IS a legend
