I think a lot of the problem is not the shortage of accommodation it’s a shortage of the care needed especially for those with mental health problems left behind by the underfunded “care in the community “ .

This is a wonderful thread bringing alive a time I only have vague recollections of from afar through the TV and newspapers. Living in Essex and never supporting a fixed team ( most of my friends supported West Ham) I recall being shocked as a 9/10 year old to see a team I had never heard of before suddenly at the top of the First division. I remember remarking on this to my Dad, who had no interest in football so could not help explain why this was. A friend had parents from Derby and although a Hammer explained they had been good in the past! I did not start supporting till I came to make Derby my home in 1980 and by then the decline was well underway but was in no doubt this was a football city to rival any. It is especially important at this time we remember the proud history we have keep the memories coming. UTR

You are so right about Derby and Derbyshire Brailsford. When I moved up I was immediately at home in a City with an identity. Much as I miss the coast and woods of Essex I was always associated as being from London. I moved up for college and have never left, Derby gave me identity in a way but more it gave me Derbyshire and it’s beauty. Whatever happens for the club, god forbid liquidation, it must not change from being County.

If so, shall we move onto the next game?
We are all disappointed in the last couple of games, but having read about sacking Rooney, players not caring, players giving up, our recruitment is awful, we are definitely down  even down without a points reduction in the last 24 hours, it's time to regroup and be realistic.
Rooney wasn't the best manager in the Championship 4 games ago and he isn't the worst now. What we do have is a thin squad mainly made up of veterans and youngsters. We started yesterday's game with half of our outfield players aged 34 to 39. With the new manager bounce they played a high tempo and we got overrun. We look tired and are ready for the international break.
Are we going down? We are certainly up against it. There are so many variables, admin points appeals, ffp appeals and takeovers and that's before we get to what happens on the pitch. I think the players are giving their all and until the Blackburn game, so were the fans. These are trying times and we need to stick together and stay optimistic. We need to still be in the fight when the New Year comes. By then we should know more about points deductions, new owners and transfer capabilities.
If we get deducted 21 points, there is little hope, but we can't give up yet. Every point is vital and every fans support is too. I hope that our fans recent negativity doesn't transmit to the games. so let's all dust ourselves down and keep supporting our great club as best we can.
I don't know if we can manage this great escape but if we do, it will take the collective will of all of us.

Derby - Hey, here's our accounts. By the way, we used an alternate method involving amortisation.
EFL - Hmmmmmm. It's unusual, but fine, we'll sign off on them.
    *Years Later*
EFL - Lol, changed our mind, now they aren't ok.

Derby - We've sold our stadium and will add the profit to our accounts.
EFL - We don't like that, but it's not against the rules. We disagree with the valuation of the stadium however.
Derby - OK. Here's a valuation from an independent company who provide a similar figure.
EFL - Nope, we don't agree with the professionals, we'll begin disciplinary action.

Independent panel - Derby didn't do anything wrong.
EFL - Meh, what do you guys know. We will appeal with a new independent panel.
New independent panel - We believe a 100k fine is appropriate for Derby's wrongdoing.
EFL - Nah, we don't like that, let's appeal. Oh and let's also try and relegate them after the season is finished.

Derby - Hey, we've renewed Jack Marriott's contract.
    EFL - OK.
    *6 months later*
EFL - Changed our mind. Marriott is free to leave. And no, you can't sign anyone to replace him, Waghorn, or any of the other players who left.
    *Months later*
Derby - Please, we don't have enough senior players to even field a team, just let us sign some.
EFL - *Sigh* Fine, but only 4 or 5. And no more than 4.5k a week! And if you re-sign players like Davies or Wisdom they will take up 1 of those spots.

Derby - Hey we're having some injury problems and would like to use a couple of young lads, but they'll then count as senior players. Can you be a little lenient with this?
    EFL - Lol no.

I'm really relieved the EFL are trying to help us and make us work. It's really nice to know they have our back.

Sufferingfool got a reaction from 1967Ram in Marshall in GOAL
Matches are usually decided by goals either caused by good play or a mistake or both (or referees!) That is the nature of the game, teams and individuals play better or worse than the others on the night. It was fairly even between Derby and Luton and two goals came from goalkeeping errors stemming from some good play. The build up to Knights goal was great and the cross to an unmarked Luton forward was excellent and put Allsopp in the corridor of uncertainty. That’s football folks what we need to be doing is continuing the fantastic support of a limited squad which is frankly working miracles to be performing as a solid mid table outfit.
I doubt we will see Marshall return.
