I suppose the problem is that people waiting for the DD option can't buy their own seat ticket for the Oxford game until it becomes free on Saturday, so they have to buy a seat elsewhere, just to be on the safe side.

I think I'm in the minority here but with Byrne I have slightly more respect for as he hasn't actually signed for anyone else yet. Hasn't come out and said anything derogatory.
He's been given advice saying DCFC are in the wrong. DCFC have been given advice saying Byrne is in the wrong. He's waiting on an outcome. It probably wouldn't right for him to be with the squad, on either party. DCFC don't want someone with an active dispute in training. Byrne can't really train with us as it might prejudice his case.
If Derby turn out to be in the right, I'd give him the opportunity to rejoin the squad and play. (Albeit, probably with an apology) Buchanan however is playing for another club right now.

Which is fair comment @kevinhectoring.  But there's a difference between being grounded by Eeyore (and he/she wasn't/isn't the only one), being realistic about the possible outcomes to the process (which are still possible and will be until we get to an announcement that this is over) and banging out a constant highly negative refrain at every opportunity, despite the damage it was clearly doing to the wellbeing of individual members of this board, including myself at different times.
In any situation like this there is a spectrum of view expressed - highly positive to highly negative - when none of us actually know anything.  We've had people who have been confident that all would end well but who have still been balanced, and no doubt had private moments of doubt. But we've also had people who have been highly negative, who have gone quiet in the positive times only to reappear at the slightest sign of bad news or no news.  Those people should, in my view, consider the impact that their approach has, or might have, on others and if they have done so out of malice (because they actually support another team for example or because they enjoy having that impact) then they should consider the part they wish to play in a decent society.  By all means hold a view but knowing when not to contribute an opinion is as important as contributing.
These have been a highly emotional few months for us all.  Aged 66 I have still found myself crying at times, in front of the computer; my life and mental health has been badly affected at different moments. The club means that much to me. The continuous groundings of Eeyores has not been helpful

I don’t know, but he’d have to have a profit to offset it against before he could save any tax. If he’s losing money in all his businesses then it’s just another hit with no tax benefit.

The thing that has always confused me in all this is .. if he bought the stadium from DCFC for 80 million, then where’s the money ? Ahh but you see he did a zillion “loans to the club” so presumably he cancelled some or all of those when he “bought”  the stadium. So no big lump of the folding stuff actually arrived in DFC’s bank.
Then he borrowed 20 million against it to keep us afloat during Covid I guess ?  Before we get in to any character assassination I think at the beginning of his tenure he settled the charge on the stadium help by the co-op bank ? How much was that I wonder ?

It is such a tangled web it’s no surprise that it is all taking so long and has been so difficult. Just fingers crossed for the day I can buy a season ticket and a clean start in league 1 with a team to support at 3.00 PM on a Saturday.

Surely people are seeing this the wrong way round?
It's not about us feeling reassured, it's about Chris Kirchner feeling reassured enough that the ground purchase will happen, that has persuaded him to sign up.
He is the one taking all the risks.
We all said that you can't buy a stadium in a few days - heck it's taking months to get a simple house purchase through at the moment - but he must know the money and motivation is there to get the deal completed.

I'm 99.9% sure that they'll add it into whichever season affects us most, so next season.
I think the extra 3 for not sticking to budget (like we even had the chance not to when we are stuck in a permanent embargo!) would have probably applied to this season.

You can't just spend whatever you want in the football league. The limitations will be different in League 1, but we still have to contend with the same ffp limits if we get promoted.
We need to get away from the "wealthy benefactor pouring money into the club" model if we dont want this to happen again. If we want to add anything other than free transfers on low wages the club will need to sell some of the few gems we have left

@David and all the other mods....
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this forum.
I am living on an island in exile and away from my beloved Derby County. Until, I discovered this forum, I felt out of touch with the club that means so much to me.
I am so grateful for what you do.
Any Internet trolls are just that - uncaring, uneducated, ungrateful idiots that should be treated with utter contempt. Obviously, it's easier to say that than to do it, especially if you are the subject of such abuse.
But believe me, they are in the minority, sadly vocal. People confuse "freedom of speech" with "free for all to be as abusive and obnoxious as you wish".
The vast majority of us are grateful for what you do and support every action you take.
    Thank you. @David, Ram ?

What a joy to be there again with the girls- they said they’d forgotten how much they enjoyed it, though winning always helps! The crowd are so involved and a big part of the excitement. I thought we’d run out of energy in the last 15 minutes or so but still kept going somehow. What a team, staff and supporters to be proud of!

No problem. Who said they missed the “deadline”? And as I have said it’s quantuma’s job to decide when and whether funding will be available , not the EFL’s.

He’s certainly put the ball back in their court.
Worst case scenario is they refuse to engage with MM directly. Mel Morris then needs to speak to the potential new owners and offer a personal guarantee to fight this case alongside them and finance any negative outcome (of which we all know there won’t be any)
Glad that MM has stepped up to the plate as quickly as he as following the EFL revealing their hand last night.
Its the correct and proper thing to do, so ?? to you MM

Sent this email to Parry at the weekend, still waiting for a reply....
    Dear Mr Parry,

Given your position within the EFL I wanted to gain an understanding as to how the EFL are currently assisting the process of Derby County Football Club exiting administration which is of an acute concern to the majority of the club's supporters.

The underlying message is that no potential new owners will be willing to take control of the club with the knowledge that two other members of the EFL are pursuing highly spurious compensation claims against Derby County which appears to be the major roadblock to a new owner buying the club.

This seems to be a classic Catch 22 situation which the EFL must be aware of and by their inaction to either defer or mitigate these compensation claims against Derby they are directly jeopardising the existence of one of the founding members of the football league.

Please can you detail what actions the EFL are intending to take to ensure that Derby County Football Club are permitted to exit administration as soon as practicably possible and remove the threat of liquidation of the club.

Roos 6 - couple of good stops, did well to close down Chair in the first half too. His kicking wasn't even that bad last night, he was doing what Rooney asks for regarding making them press so we can expose gaps in behind. I think there was one to Lawrence in the second half which was poor, but other than that his kicking was fine. Also had fans moaning at him for slowing the game down yet his defenders were telling him to calm it down after he claimed a corner.
Byrne 6 - Few bits of decent defending at the back post, but caught gazing for their 2nd.
Forsyth 4 - Poor. Clear he hasn't got the legs anymore and some of his crossing was below average.
Jagielka 6.5 - Best of the back 4 for me, pretty solid.
Davies 4.5 - Probably a controversial one, but I thought he was quite poor. There were plenty of times he kept playing strikers onside when if he stepped up half a yard, they'd be offside. For their first he was the defender playing Austin onside and all he needed to do was just step up half a yard and he'd have been offside. THEN, started running towards Austin when Thompson and Jags (who screamed at Davies to mark Willock) but just ran into no mans land and didn't stop the cross, poor.
Shinnie 5 - First half good and a decent assist, but second half he was really poor. Look absolutely shattered, was outpaced  by Austin when he had 20 yards on him. Inexcusable defending for their first.
Bird 6.5 - Wanted to get on the ball and progress, but feel like our attackers didn't offer him enough going forward.
Thompson 7 - All action, good performance.
Morrison 3 - If Morrison is going to play, you need him on the ball influencing the game, not stuck up front chasing defenders shadows.
Knight 6 - Won free kicks really well, but felt like he didn't offer much going forward.
Lawrence 6.5 - Decent goal but didn't really do much.
    Subs:
CKR: 4 - Offered nothing, lazy.
Joswiak 4.5 - Couldn't really get involved considering how poor we were attacking, felt sorry for him.
Ebsoele 5 - Didn't have long enough to affect the game, did a few decent runs though.

As an aside can I just say where has Thompson come from ? The way he's slotted into the midfield like he has been there all season in 2 of the hardest games of the season is seriously impressive. One of the things that I really really like about him is he's consistently moving to provide the passer an option.
