I can find no fault in your logic.
Saying that, I only really ever knew 2 really rich people - and both would sell their own mothers to become richer.

Like the football finance guy said...Morris could continue funding the club if he chose to.. he had the finances to carry on for as long as required
He chose to throw the club and staff under a bus..

Historically,  apparently you don’t even have to show proof of funds if you want to buy the club.

No, what’s done is done. This should’ve happened after we saw the likes of Blackman, Butterscotch and Johnson performing years ago.

Ultimately, whatever Mel has said and done. The fact is he bought the club, he authorised the contract and signed the cheques in a gamble to get us into the premier league, it hasn’t worked out and he should be the one paying for it now. The guy is a wealthy enough man to keep the club  afloat for many many years to come. The simply fact is he doesn’t want to.
How does this persist? Why when it happened to Wigan and Bury was it not sorted.
FFP\P&S is a broken system… it allows clubs to loose £39 million over a 3 year period before anyone takes notice?! Bury can’t afford to loose £39m and now they are gone.
I have said for a long time now, and I heard G Neville say something similar at the weekend. There needs to be real time regulation of clubs. There needs to be a way of making owners accountable. Let’s use the example of Mel. Mel bought Derby and he was reportedly worth £500m apparently he still is?! But let’s say he’s not and he’s “only” now worth £100m. He’s still got £100m that rightly (unfortunately not legally) should be in the club.

Morally how is it right that Mel has £100m but the staff member at Moore farm won’t be paid and they will have to beg borrow steal to buy a loaf of bread now?
Why is it that Wayne Rooney is paying for the teams away trips?
Why is is that loyal Derby fans who paid for their season tickets and asked for a refund during the pandemic were ignored?!

Something has to be done in future. Owners should have to personally guarantee their clubs liability’s over and above their incomings. Even if the there was some protection to owners - for example If you have an owner worth - £500m they have to personally guarantee the club until their down to their last £10m.
Maybe then when Mel was hell bent on promotion, he’d have thought more about the contracts he was signing! He’d have thought harder about sacking Clement, Pearson, Cocu. He’d have thought harder about appointing them and he’d have know that if this goes wrong it’s going to cost him most of his fortune.

However, this is not the case and Mel can now got to bed tonight sleeping like a baby, knowing that his money is safe. I genuinely believe he thinks he’s been hard done by here and it’s not his fault. Mel if you’re reading, pay off the debts. We know you can afford to. Just leave the club in the same state that you found it in.

he is gambling that admin will force buyers to make a real bid rather than hang on to see how things go.  Mel is not a good gambler

At this stage in his management career I’d wager that’s a no.

Should’ve followed JT’s route and done his time first. For all the “impossible job” claptrap I’d still like to see someone else given a go at Derby.

Anybody remember the away game at Bradford around 1984? About 15 of us were in the back of a transit van, no windows, complete darkness. Went in a very hostile pub and left. Got to the ground and were pelted with concrete chunks from the crumbling terrace. Rams fans responded in kind and the slabs rained back and forth until kick off. My mate got smacked straight in the ear, blood everywhere. No sympathy from cops or stewards. The ref blows for kick off. Huge chant of DLF from the main home stand and around a hundred Derby stand up gesturing to a group next to them. Another chant goes up, 'Leeds Leeds Leeds'...A pre arranged scrap Then 90 minutes of all out fighting. Graham Richards apparently described the chaos as 'like a scene from Zulu dawn'.. Can't remember the game or the score.

Shouldn't this now be ?'don't walk away roon-ay'?
We are stuck with what we have till Jan and I think the backs to the wall dynamic will work in our favour and gell the small squad together.
Yes we've had easy games so far but let's keep that gap to the bottom 3 by picking up the odd point or 3.

Been in with Leeds fans a couple of times at Elland Road. Lost both times so wasn't an issue, thankfully all our wins been whilst I was able to celebrate in the away end. Was actually invited through work into corporate for the playoff semi but told them had no intention of sitting with opposition fans for a game that important (I managed to get an away end ticket day before game). Suspect I may not have made it out of Elland Road alive had I been outed that night as Derby.
Went to Upton Park about 10 years ago to see us play West Ham but sat in the packed Bobby Moore Stand with my mate (a Hammer). Anyway, we took a surprise lead through Tamas Priskin and as I leapt to my feet & punched the air, I felt a couple of hundred eyes fixed on me. Thinking this probably wasn't a great life decision, I screamed 'you facking mugs' in my best faux-Cockney & sat down sharpish. We lost 3-1, I stayed sat down for their 3 goals..

Yep It was definitely Sheff Wednesday.

I still have a couple of my keys from the key club, the system barely worked, maybe I time in 5 the rest of the time the turnstiles were just opened up. We used to go in the key club and walk through into the pop side courtesy of a couple of bent railings that you could squeeze through saving myself who gh money to buy a programme and a bag of chips. Perfect.

nothing will best the seasons when I had enough money to get a season ticket in the C Stand though.
those seasons up there with my mates were the best ever. We saw everything up there…absolutely brilliant.

I have very good memories of the BBG ever since first attending in the Ozzie end as a nominal Telford supporter and witnessing a Bobby Davison hat trick.

Safety standards were a little different then. I used to get a free ticket for a time through Derbyshire County Council to take an elderly man to matches. His mobility was limited and often the tickets were for the Ozzie upper! He was a hefty chap and after being dropped off at the ground myself and a couple of stewards would carry him up the many flights of stairs in a chair of sorts to our seats. If there had been a fire aka Bradford he was certainly a gonner and getting back down was none too easy either. He could reel off the cup winning team  with ease and the staff at his care home said he was so happy come a Saturday. I remember the joy of seeing Dean Saunders debut with him from the Ozzie upper as well as being unnerved by the din made by Man U fans below us on another occasion.

Eventually they gave us tickets in the Normanton corner of the main stand where we watched Deno bury his header past Crossley.

Best atmosphere I experienced at the BBG was the 3:3 cup game against Wednesday packed into the popside. Spent most of the game trying to peer round a 6foot 6 bloke until Kitsons header?. When the mayhem ceased I was a good 4 foot in front of him with a much better view.

Seems like a groundbreaking concept now?.

Also I didn’t know telephone collection was available at the BBG.
Who else remember queuing straight AFTER matches to get your ticket for the next big game. Think we left games early in order to get a good place in the queue.

I remember the good old days at the BBG, simple things, like being able to go to the ticket office and but a ticket.
Seriously though, I remember one game, when I didn't have a season ticket because of my job at the time, getting to the ground only to find a massive queues at the ticket office. So I went to the nearest phone box, phoned the ticket office and bought one, for collection at the ground, which didn't have a queue.
    Happy days.
