Phoenix reacted to Zag zig in They're playing football now, not hoofball.
It’s funny, remember some Clough fans saying Mac built his success on the team Clough assembled. Is it any different? Maybe not, but it totally undermines the impact that Warne has had on getting more from the players, by adopting different tactics and systems.
I’m another Warne convert, you have to give credit where it’s due.

I absolutely understand those who wanted Rosenior to stay and succeed, and I understand that some people were sceptical about Warne.
What the recent performances show is that patience is a virtue. Warne has now had some time to get to know the squad and players at his disposal. Partly through circumstance and partly through his own and his coaching team’s ability they have settled on a formation and style of play that works rather than their early intentions to replicate the tactics and formation that had worked for them previously, and they’re getting a tune out of the squad with players seemingly fitter and effective in their roles.
Further to that the players have had chance to adjust and settle, for anyone who claimed a couple of months back that as professional footballers they didn’t need that time I would say the evidence is clear now that they did. Watch any recent interview with members of the playing staff and there are clear comments about them now getting how “the gaffer” wants them to play. Similar to Ten Hag at Manure, early days they had a few pastings and now they’re doing well.
I suppose my point is, we’re in a good moment now having had that time to adjust, and if we lose a couple it doesn’t mean the wheels have come off. It’s a marathon not a sprint, what matters is where we are at the finish line in May so enjoy the good moments and don’t get too down if and when we have a wobble. ?

Phoenix got a reaction from jimbo jones in Derbyshire CCC - Mickey Arthur Appointed
I seem to recall that he came to Derbyshire because he wanted a 'project'. On that basis he probably sees it as a work in progress and wants to see it through.
As you say he's "been there and done that", more than once.

The going’s often heavy at Cheltenham. Could be a good day for Dobbin

I kind of hoped that because he had “been there and done that” with the international game. He’d want to stay and finish the job. Great news that seems to be the case.

Phoenix reacted to Ambitious in Bielik at Brum
Warne said "I'm led to believe Bielik won't be coming back"
An interesting way to put it, for sure.

Excellent news. Wouldn't have blamed him if he left to go back to a massive international job. Shows how committed he is to the county, which is brilliant.

Phoenix reacted to JJs dms in Promotion rivals signings
Seem to remember Billy Davies splashing the cash in January and us dropping out of an automatic spot into the play offs dont think any of the signings proved very successful and he basically went back to his original side to get us up

Phoenix got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Barnsley (H) (FACR3) Sun 8th Jan, 12:30 KO
Had a glance on a Barnsley Forum. They thought we were a poor side, but they were worse. One or two realists though, to be fair.
