I kind of hoped that because he had “been there and done that” with the international game. He’d want to stay and finish the job. Great news that seems to be the case.

I seem to recall that he came to Derbyshire because he wanted a 'project'. On that basis he probably sees it as a work in progress and wants to see it through.

As you say he's "been there and done that", more than once.

Woke up grinning this morning thinking about the game yesterday. For 60 minutes it was as complete a performance as one could wish for. Quick nod to Wildsmith again. We do seem to start games rather slowly (Warne's face on the touchline for the first 15 told a story!) and I've lost count of the times recently where his unshakeable concentration has given us a platform on which to build these impressive performances. POTY will be a fiercely competitive affair this year, that's for sure. Arguments to be made for Didzy, NML, Cash and Joe as things stand with a late surge from Jason Knight looking likely too. An oddly wonderful time to be a Ram's fan.

Had a glance on a Barnsley Forum. They thought we were a poor side, but they were worse. One or two realists though, to be fair.

When shinnie left it showed just how much we miss him and no doubt he would want bring glory back to derby and he never wanted to leave and no doubt he wants to come back home.

    I thought he was Scottish

The clattering that Barkhuizen received in the LH corner of their penalty area in the first half was about a clear a penalty as I've seen so far this season. How the referee, positioned where he was, could have viewed it as a fair tackle is a mystery. Bolton player didn't even get the faintest touch on the ball, whilst Barks touch was light enough that, unimpeded, he would have got to the ball first.

Sadly. what's done cannot be undone.

Once, when W G Grace was given out by an umpire, he retorted 'That was never out' to which the umpire replied 'Read tomorrow's paper'

Mind you, on another occasion, he refused to leave the field on the (his) basis that spectators had paid to come to watch him, not the umpire.

    I digress.

In the 'modern' era (ended Derby career in 70's or later).

Starting from when they made first first team appearance.

    8 years or longer.

Fascinating, especially how many at the top of the list were in the 'Sir Brian' years. Is this because of the rigours of modern football, or the size of the pay packets?

In the Championship year under Cloughie, I think about 10 of the players played in 38 or more of the 42 matches. Hector played all 42 I believe.
