Just playing devil's advocate here but aren't we in danger of tarring all Wycombe fans and the owner with the same brush, just as they (and many others) do with Mel and our fans, something which we rail against?

I was amazed how fit some of them are. I've done sub-3 hour marathons and a sub-1 hour 10 miles, but running consumed a large part of my life to achieve it.
For any budding runners reading this, the Ashbourne 1/2 marathon is a real toughie, possibly harder than Eyam, and definitely much harder than Buxton (unless they've changed the course.) The cattle grids don't help, either.

How will this affect the U19 and U21 league status, if at all?

After the Jo’burg openers both got ducks, a superb match winning 81 not out from du Plooy in the SA20 yesterday. They are currently joint top in the standing.
Looks like the new captain will be coming back to start his reign brimming with confidence ?
Sadly, he got a duck today. The vagaries of cricket, eh?

A couple of quotes from the Morecambe Forum.
"Ref is giving them everything. We've been pulled back/down a few times and got nothing, but their lads go down, free-kick every time."
Famiiar?
"Yes Derby are excellent, but we're just letting them attack, attack and attack again. Their defence could start a card school to keep them occupied."

Howse told the club website that Johal's purchase had not "progressed as quickly as we all would have liked" but "exciting times are ahead both on and off the pitch"
Where have we heard that before?

I thought exactly the same when I read about that. I've also read today that Morecambe are being bought out by a 20 year old!
Not one of the Oyston dynasty is it? Same neck of the woods.

The bit that caught my eye was in the Mail, about the Nigerian Billionaire stepping in to save Shef Utd. I'm always wary of the emails I get from Nigerian Billionaires.

Are you sure they're not quivering with excitement at the wonderful play before them and in the magnificent Stadium!
More like quaking with fear lest they get one of the EFL special rules wrong.

A couple of quotes from the P V forum
Cruel way to lose a game where we competed against a side who must have a budget 5 or 6 times ours.
We can't be too harsh, great performance, injury ravaged, v one of the highest budgets in the league who have gelled
Will they never learn?

This from Wikipedia
The pitch is clay underneath the grass, rather than sand. These two factors make the pitch vulnerable to freezing temperatures. It is an extremely dry pitch, which often makes passing football quite difficult. There is also a coal seam under the pitch, and numerous mine shafts dotted around the local area, including many under the park opposite the ground.
The Vale Park pitch is one of the widest in the Football League. The pitch was originally laid over a filled-in marl hole and does not have a subsoil structure so is liable to flooding as it lacks proper drainage; a complete re-laying of the pitch would be needed to fix the issue (the club were quoted £450,000 for this work in 2014
Sounds Good.

We are in the 3rd division - if we can’t get anyone else and Bristol city are paying most of his wages why not?
That would go down well the BC forum. Bring it on.
As for 'He's coming home', I thought he was born in Beccles.

I saw something about the ECB throwing even more money at centrally contracted players, to “encourage” them to play in the hundred...whilst of course they are also supposed to be resting ?
Time we had a teeth-gritting emoji.
