Sorry to say I did watch 10 minutes of it yesterday, saw a bit of Wayne's winning knock. What I didn't get was the engagement the fans attending had with the game. They were getting really excited. How does that work exactly? Who were they supporting and why? Really don't understand it......

Me too. Maybe it's the garish colours, the flares, the band who looked as though they were on wacky backy, the ale...

Sam cosgrove at brum good for aberdeen lost his way a bit but is a big unit and still quite young could kick start his career with us

i hope its andy carroll real handful and we could rotate him with collins and didzy he would score for fun with us

If he's related to Mark Cosgrove, the Aussie cricketer, he will be a big unit.

  3. Very sad story. Being a Buxtonian, I remember him well. He had a job at one of the local quarries, would run the eight miles to work with a knapsack full of bricks, do a shift at the quarry then run home.

His brother Vic used to deliver our groceries and keep us up to date with his latest exploits.

And to think what appearance fees some of our Olympic Athletes command today. Total hypocracy.

Significant stereotyping but I have travelled (and stayed at) the length and bredth of the UK; Peterborough is one of the scummiest places hands down I have visited. And being run down or economically worse off than other parts is not something I tend to score a place down for, there are some wonderful communities where the areas are depressed. I have stayed over a handful of times in hotels on overnights and, as is customory, ventured out in the evening for a meal and pint... to the very few establishements they seem to have. Typically wished I hadn't. Agree with your assessment, it is a place that doesn't seem to have any redeeming features.

I was obliged to go there a couple of years ago with a mate of mine. Went into Starbucks and they'd run out of water. I kid you not.

Wow. Already addressed this elsewhere... Emma Hayes has the most annoying voice ever. I mute the tv if she is on, her monotonous, booming completely bugs the hell out of me.

Now Laura Woods, she's decent and her voice is lovely too!

Just watching Fyre Festival, The Festival That Never Happened on Netflix.

The main person in it, you would genuinely think it was Kirchner.

It's worth a watch, if nothing else, just to see someone who seems very similar to the Kirch.

Another Fred Goodwin. The book 'Shredded' is a good but infuriating read about a guy who, to quote "lived the life of Aristotle Onassis, but with other people's money"

  7. Some stores are quite strict about leaving the car park on foot (presumably to shop somewhere else). Some years ago our local B&Q slapped a penalty on a women who had nipped across the road to pick something up from another shop, having just ordered about £4 grands worth of kitchen furniture.

Needless to say she cancelled the order as they refused to back down.

The step was painted with stuff called Cardinal red and the lady of the house polished it till it shone. !!!!!!!!!

Red tile polish is still available, Cardinal being the shade of red. My house dates to 1908 and has an old outside toilet and a thrall, both with red tiles. Usefull stuff.
