We might have won 0-4 but for the sending off. Horrible pitch. So not that bad. But personnel changes needed in Jan - some of these players are not at their best trying to play the way he wants. Especially in midfield

    Agreed on the result.

Regarding personnel, I think it's clear we don't have the players for the level of football we're at. I recall saying about Lee Hendrie quite a few years ago that the lower he went, the more he would struggle - As players age, they lose pace and strength which is precisely what you really need lower down the ladder, I think Hourihane is today's Hendrie....

Whether, he was through on goal, is a matter of debate, Holloway didn't think so,  Johnson did. However, for the ref to send a player off, he must be 100% sure of what happened, he didn't even know who committed the foul.

Quite, Holloway didn't think so, non Derby fan mates of mine don't think so yet some derby fans are adamant it's a red, "110% FFS". Odd.

More broadly, surely being a fan is being one eyed, we're ALWAYS robbed ?

Some of our fans on twitter having a go at Warne are absolutely ridiculous.

No team would get relegated from the Championship, come back for pre season with 5 players and get anywhere near to promotion from League One. The fact we're 7th is a miracle in itself.

We don't have a right back, we have 2 wingers (Ones injured) the squad at full strength is unbelievably short. Take 5 regulars out and we're threadbare.

The game management today after going down to 10 men was so poor. But these players make such poor decisions at times, going directly against what they've been told to do.

All Warne can do is work with what we've got, which isn't a lot. Get through this month, get some of the injured players back and get to January.

We need at the very least a right back, a midfield enforcer and a winger. But I think we'll get more than that.

Clowes said himself that there will be a period of consolidation.

I was just thinking along similar lines - The 2 managers in my Derby supporting time that had the most success are Arthur Cox and Jim Smith, both (more so in the case of Smith) started in more stable circumstances than Warne and would be pilloried by some on here for our early performances under them. There are some very entitled fools on here....

A recent 'freedom of information' question about newspapers provided for staff at the BBC, revealed that in comparison with national sales, the Guardian was massively over subscribed at the BBC and that the Daily Mail was massively under subscribed by the BBC. I think that shows the political bias within the organsiation.

The only FOI request for this info that I could find was here:- https://pressgazette.co.uk/foi-request-reveals-the-guardian-is-most-popular-newspaper-at-the-bbc/ (pasted below), it highlights a few things, one that your description of 'massively over/under' isn't supported by facts but also how dominant right of centre reporting is in our written media.

You also refer to a common false equivalence in the Mail & the Guardian - You may or may not like the tone of the Guardian but it is a serious newspaper where the Mail, erm, isn't. I mean, it's kind of famous for its sidebar of shame isn't it.

Back (nearly) on topic though, the BBC have been in the govt crosshairs for some time, not necessarily because of any perceived political or idealogical bias (although the latter clearly pays a part with regard to their funding) but because a network that is reporting in a balance manner is clearly still going to be critical of the 2019-2022 government because, regardless of your political leanings, it did leave itself wide open to such criticism.

I dearly hope that local radio survives intact, it's really important, it is a force for good that that sits away from the forces of revenue and profit.

I've worked abroad quite a bit and lived in France. I didn't watch that much telly when I was there. I also watched BBC world. None of it was very exciting but i'd say that about the BBC here. If you like it then fair enough. I just don't want to pay for it as i don't watch it.

I'm not in receipt of any benefits but I'm happy to pay for them. The BBC and, as a slightly different example, Channel 4 and S4C make fantastic programmes that otherwise would remain inside someones head, not everything has to be driven by popularity and money, it's a fantastic thing that more obscure and niche programming still exists. The loss of local BBC stations would be such a sad thing.

Well the wrist slashes appear to be out in full force tonight.

At the start of the season, I like everyone else was relieved we still had a club.

I was also hoping  the team would get through this season, sitting comfortably in mid-table, without the threat of being dragged into a relegation battle, which it presently looks to be in no danger of doing. Allowing the rebuilding process to take pkace, in readiness for us to kick-on the following season.

So while I've been disappointed with some of our performances, under both Rosenior and Warne.

Overall with where we were back in June, I'll not be applying for membership of the association of wrist slashes any time soon.

I've previously put it down to a sense of entitlement, I still think that's the case. Some thought, whatever they say, that this league was going to be cake walk when - in particular this season - it was always going to be a hard slog, as it is proving. Bare minimum Warne needs is a full season, then we'll see where we are.

I've also said previously that having negative people around you is toxic to your wellbeing - Having gone on mass 'ignore' last night, I feel some catharsis has occurred!

Why is Knight even playing! We have a big game Friday night and he plays in a s***** cup no need play under 15s and get try not to qualify

We have to play a certain amount of first team players from previous games, I can't remember the details but it's an effing joke imposed on lower league teams based on the crumbs passed down from the EPL.

Seems like they are only allowed to bowl spinners, the way they’ve gone round the park I don’t see any sense in staying out there. All it’s done is let them knock off the deficit. Would have been better to sit in the Pavillion and wait until you can bring the quicks back on.

As I say this, Ahmed slaps one straight up in the air and gets out ?

Agreed. Can be the only reason to be bowling that pair!

I don't want to pick on people but Godleman should have been telling his bowlers just to bowl line and length this morning, it was all bouncers and attempted yorkers, frustrating. Ahmed can't play with a straight bat, we would have got him out just being patient.

  9. I sincerely hope we can finish 4th, feels like a good season then. Masood rather too successful in some ways, would have been nice for him to stick with us but, as ever, the dollar talks. Do we know when Lakmal is fit again? If he can hit the ground running, the bowling looks pretty good for 2023 and there's a core of a batting line up with hopefully a season long overseas to come.

Obv someone will be swooping for Dal though....

Ah yes the famously sustainable Brighton. They've only lost about £300 million since being in the prem and posted a £39 million loss in their last championship season. They were on the same trajectory as us spending wise but managed to succeed where we failed. They are not a sustainable club though.

Absolutely, and don't forget the circa £200m spent on stadium and training ground of which the club have thus far paid zero. Approximately £400m down over the last 15 years, sustainable ???
